Story
Ladybug is a sweet, loving full bread Great Pyrenees that came from a farm. We took her as a puppy to help with our chickens. She does her job well, but we only live on a quarter acre. She refuses to stay in our yard and needs a larger area to roam or needs to be walked daily, maybe even multiple times a day. We have tried numerous attempts to keep her in our backyard and we cannot find a solution. She had a litter of puppies Black Friday in 2025. She would be able to be fixed in March. I am having a baby in February and cannot handle her constantly digging holes in our backyard to escape. We love her but she needs lots of attention. She would do well on a farm or some acreage. Rehoming fee is only to cover her listing on this site. We do hope to find her a loving home to go be happy roaming around.

Story
Mac was rescued by his foster mom in Victoria, Texas. I took over ownership of Mac in September 2023. He is goofy and loyal. He likes his space but loves cuddles and pets, of course. He loves to laze around or romp outside. Unfortunately Mac has some behavioral and reactive issues. These issues need to be addressed by someone with experience and proper resources. I believe in Mac.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bolt is waiting patiently for his forever home! Bolt is a 5 1/2 year old Great Pyrenees-Catahoula leopard dog mix. Bolt is a sweet and loyal companion, enjoys being in the yard when his foster mom gardens, and loves pets and attention. Bolt has a serious side, he barks when he perceives a threat (the UPS truck, mailman, etc) and a silly side, finding all sorts of random things to play with-he’d rather forage something around the house and cares less about dog toys. Bolt is super helpful around the house, he loves to help load the dishwasher, clean off the counters, and helps with the laundry by dragging clothes and towels from the laundry room outside in the rain, lol, he’s all about conservation! His new family should be sturdy as he can get spunky and want to play while doing zoomies around his people. He would love his own person/people to reciprocate his loyalty, someone who likes to relax and also find adventure. If you are looking for your “ride or die” dog, that’s Bolt, he is smart and eager to please. Bolt could get along with a female dog but would prefer to eat alone. Bolt is being fostered in Tacoma, WA and can be transported within WA and OR . All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. All current pets in adoptive home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.  Adoption Fee: $175 All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Dixie is a clever girl waiting for her forever family! This smart 8-month-old, 80 lb sweetheart is incredibly attuned to her people and will follow you from room to room—she never wants to miss a moment with you. Dixie is fully potty trained and recently discovered the joys of couch life, making her an excellent Netflix companion (good luck getting her to move once she's settled in). She loves occupying herself with a good chew toy or bone, and she's hilariously enthusiastic about chasing balls, though she hasn't quite mastered the "bringing it back" part of fetch yet. Dixie is wonderful with dogs of all sizes and is currently learning how to play gently with her 12 lb Chihuahua foster sister. She's curious about cats but respects their boundaries. Her new family should be ready to continue her leash training and work on basic commands. If you want a smart, affectionate companion who will be your constant sidekick, Dixie is waiting for you! Dixie's spay is scheduled for Feb 17 and she can go home after that!  Dixie is being fostered in Portland, OR and can be adopted within OR and WA. OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION: 1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES THAT HAVE AT LEAST ONE MEDIUM TO LARGE YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOG that is age 1 or older. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor. 2) These puppies can be livestock dogs to farms and homesteads experienced in training LGDs. They also must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 3) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone must also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8+ hours a day. 4) We give preference to applicants with prior Great Pyrenees knowledge/experience. 5) Secure and visible fencing required. 6) You must have a plan in place to socialize your puppy properly. Adoption Fee: $375 All of our puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccinations.  We do not adopt to families with children under the age of 6. Transport Fee: $350 Transport fee includes the cost of transport plus the Health Certificate required for USDA approved transport. All of our puppies are spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Story
Meet FAUNA! • Female • Anatolian/Lab mix • 1 year old • 41 pounds • Medium energy • Good with dogs • Great in a harness • Working on potty training Fauna doesn’t ask for much—just a space to stretch her legs, a canine buddy to share her days with and a family who understands that love sometimes grows quietly. She’s the kind of dog who finds joy in the simple things: crunching on a treat, walks around the yard and the occasional burst of play. Initially shy, Fauna's true self is a calm and quietly observant pup, with a slight independent streak. While she isn’t one to demand constant affection, Fauna’s gentle heart blossoms under patience and will ask for the occasional pat. She’s a stellar walker and would thrive in a home with a yard, daily routine and another dog. In time, Fauna will be the predictable, sweet and low-maintenance buddy every family dreams of Fauna is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. For more information about Fauna or our shelter please call us at (830) 693-0569 or visit our website at highlandlakescaninerescue.org If you would like to schedule a meet and greet with Fauna or any of our dogs, please fill out an application at https://www.highlandlakescaninerescue.org/adopt-a-dog/how-to-adopt/

Story
Health Status ✔ Spayed ✔ Fully vaccinated ✔ Microchipped ✔ Treated for Parasites ✔ Heartworm Negative When Freya first arrived at HLCR, this gentle Anatolian Shepherd mix was riddled with parasites and barely had the energy to lift her head. But beneath her weakened exterior, we saw something special: a soul full of love just waiting to shine. Intuitive and emotionally responsive, Freya thrives on human connection and would flourish as a beloved house dog. She's not just looking for a home but for a special person who will appreciate her gentle spirit and unwavering loyalty. Freya does have some separation anxiety and would benefit from having a constant dog or human companion.
