Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Muffy is a sweet and sassy 7 year-old Pyr mix who would like to be the queen of the castle (she is dog selective) and in return she will be a devoted and loyal companion.   She is a good-natured and well-mannered girl who loves to go on walks and rides and is always ready for her next adventure but is not at all opposed to an afternoon nap or cuddles with her foster mom on the couch.  Muffy likes to supervise all things in the house including cooking and cleaning and if there’s too much going on in the house she tends to overwork herself so a quieter household might be best.  She will alert her humans to any potential activity occurring outside and when she’s not guarding she likes to relax in the yard.   Muffy knows several commands, including “sit,” “shake,” and “come” but typical of Pyrs, may decide not to do these unless you make it worth her while.   Muffy need a home without cats or other small pets and would do best with older, respectful children or adult only homes.    Muffy is currently being fostered in Tacoma, WA. All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. All current pets in adoptive home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.  Adoption Fee: $175 All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Adoption applications can be found on our website: www.greatpyrsandpaws.org https://greatpyrsandpaws.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5959   Northwest adopter pays cost of transport to independent transport company.  Transport is arranged by GPPR.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 30, 2023, 2:09 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Meet BOLT!  Bolt is a handsome Pyr mix who is about 1-2 years old and weighs 65 lbs.  Bolt came into rescue after being taken to a shelter by a family that said he had grown to be "too big".  Bolt is a sweet guy, he loves people but he can be dog selective, he would do best as an only dog. He seems to be fine around cats.  Bolt is working on his leash skills and other basic training, he is a smart boy and is doing well.  He can get excited when meeting new people and greet them with hugs (jumping) but settles down quickly. He would love to find a forever family soon!  Bolt is currently in Texas but can be on the next NW transport.   All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Meet SARGENT! Sargent is a playful, energetic, goofy, and loving Great Pyrenees / Lab mix. He is approximately 2 years old and on the smaller side for his breed, weighing in at 55 pounds. Sarge enjoys playing and roughhousing and would love to find a home with another playful dog to help get his energy out and show him the ropes! He’s a great adventure buddy and would love to find an active family to take him on frequent walks, jogs, and hikes. He walks well on a leash, but does have prey drive and will pull to chase after squirrels and other animals. He can be vocal and talkative, letting you know with attitude if he hasn’t had enough playtime and will alert bark to let you know someone is near the house. He’s constantly making his fosters laugh with his expressive talking, sassy side-eye, and floppy body. Once he’s gotten all of his energy out, he enjoys cuddling up and getting cozy next to his people. He is very sweet and tender-hearted. He loves to be near his people and will often follow you from room to room. He prefers not to be in a crate and sleeps nicely on a dog bed in his foster parents’ bedroom. He can be wary of strangers (both people and other animals) but once he learns they’re friendly, he would very much like to be their best friend. Sarge has not been around any cats to our knowledge. He would benefit from being in a home that will provide patient and consistent positive training to help him be his best self! He is food motivated, which is great for training, but likes to counter surf to find extra snacks when no one is watching. His forever home must have good fencing as he is a bit of an escape artist and has the potential to climb. Sargent is currently being fostered in Seattle, WA. All our dogs require secure VISIBLE fencing. All current pets in adoptive home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.  We do not adopt to families with children under the age of 6.  Adoption Fee: $225 All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Babe is a 8 month old sweetheart who is looking for his forever family. He is 51% Great Pyrenees, 49% German Shepard, and 100% a good boy.  He weighs 70 pounds and is still growing. He is crate trained, potty trained, and great around cats. His absolute favorite things are toys, food, and playful dogs. He requests that his new home have lots of toys. His new home should have a playful resident dog that can show him the ropes and be willing to play wrestle with him. He is a great learner and will pick up on what resident dogs are doing and copy them. He knows the command Sit, and is learning Stay, and Lay Down currently. He has been practicing his off-leash recall skills and is looking forward to being your hiking buddy! He also loves car rides.   He gets excited when his leash comes out and is learning leash manners around other dogs/humans, but will need owners that are patient and willing to continue training him on a leash. Training treats have been a great success with him.   When it’s bedtime Babe plops himself down at the foot of the bed, and sleeps through the night, waiting for you to get up in the morning. He is incredibly sweet and will come find you at random times throughout the day just for pets, cuddles, and love. He is being fostered in Boise ID. OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION: 1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES THAT HAVE AT LEAST ONE MEDIUM TO LARGE YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOG that is age 1 or older. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor. 2) These puppies are not livestock dogs. They must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 3) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone must also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8+ hours a day. 4) We give preference to applicants with prior Great Pyrenees knowledge/experience. 5) Secure and visible fencing required. 6) You must have a plan in place to socialize your puppy properly. Adoption Fee: $325 All of our puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccinations.  We do not adopt to families with children under the age of 6. Transport Fee: $350 Transport fee includes the cost of transport plus the Health Certificate required for USDA approved transport. All of our puppies are spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations.
