Story
Meet Snow White! She is a dog shaped fluffy cloud who has the BIGGEST heart for her humans! If you are looking for a guardian angel who’s love language is cuddling and kisses, you’ve found the best girl for the job! We believe Snow White is a Great Pyrenese mix who is about 2 years old and weighs approximately 64 pounds! Her fluff may account for half of her weight which makes her the perfect snuggle bug candidate LOL! Due to her being a rescue, age and breed cannot be guaranteed. But the sweetness of her face is all that really matters in the end! Watch Snow White love on all the kiddos here: https://youtu.be/NYuTXWPkQ6Y I met Snow White on a rainy, stormy day in South Texas. The weather was dreary but Snow White’s spirit was not! She so gracefully welcomed me into her presence with gentle tail wags and soft kisses. Her foster’s favorite thing about her is how sweet and kind she is with all living creatures big and small. True to the Great Pyrenees nature, she’s a guardian and cares for the wellbeing of those around her. When she met Biggie, our housecat, she was unbothered. Inspecting him with a quick sniff and letting him go on his way. She would be fine in a home with dog savvy kitties who don’t mind a giant ball of fluff leisurely perusing their space. With dogs, she’s equally as great! She lives with 5 other dogs at her foster’s home of various ages, sizes, and breeds. Her foster states that she loves to play around with them at home! It’s so nice that she wants everyone around her to feel safe and comfortable with her. When she met some of the pups at our residence, she was very mellow and peaceful. She allowed them to inspect her as she inspected them and proceeded to go investigate the new smells of the yard. She would do great in a home with medium energy pups who are happily open to adding a new pal to the pack. When it comes to people, especially kids, Snow White loves them! She gets so excited when a kiddo enters her presence! Her foster stated that she loves when his grandkids aged 4 and 2 come to visit. When she met Blaze and Xen (9) all she wanted to do was be in their space. She sat there patiently as they gave her head rubs and she gave them kisses in return. Snow White is very kid friendly and would do well in a home that has children excitedly awaiting to share their love. Due to Snow White’s size and her love of perusing the yard, it would be best if she went to a home that had space for her to roam in the back yard over an apartment. Honestly, Snow White is such a great catch! She has a mellow demeanor that can also get playful when invited. She has a gentle, cuddly, loving nature that her humans will adore. She loves taking leisurely walks with her humans. And she is super soft and fluffy and cute! What more could you want in a pet?! If Snow White is the princess you’ve been longing for, apply for her today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/67f6dd7f39c5f0fae903b604 Questions? We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Story
Loving, obedient, smart, curious, and adventure-ready? That’s Darla! A wonder dog through and through, this girl is great with other dogs, highly trainable, treat motivated, and is a cutie in a unique coat. One of my favorite things about Darla is how well balanced her energy is, if she gets excited, she is back to calm in just a moment, if she is a bit nervous- she gets curious, checks it out and just like that she is confident. Take a look at her in action then come back to read more- https://youtu.be/mCwsTJdbJdY Darla is so fortunate to be in a loving foster home while she waits for her forever family. This allows her to learn and practice all the best manners and skills a house dog needs. This also gives us a true front row seat to her personality. Her foster family has nothing but praise for her. From how easily she fit right in to her quick learning of everything. From house training to manners around meals, she is attentive to directions and consistently quick to master new skills. Thanks to that she is both house and crate trained! Her foster family shared that she has never had an accident in the house and sleeps through the night quietly in her crate. She often chooses the crate to sleep at night but on occasion she chooses a cozy dog bed. On those nights she has been perfect, sleeping peacefully through the night. Darla is estimated to be just over a year old, she weighs 53 lbs, and is likely a Pyrenees/Husky/Shepherd mix but we cannot guarantee age of breed given she is a rescue. Also, I strongly suspect she may be a dog/deer mix- she you see the speckles and spots that run down her back you will see why this is my suspicion. However and whatever she is, she has a gorgeous and unique coat. When she was introduced to other dogs she showed us a calm, friendly approach. We do know she has a playful side, she lives with another dog in her foster home and the two of them have a blast together. Unfortunately, on the day we were spending time with Darla the weather was rainy pretty much all day, which didn’t bring out the playful side in anyone. Despite that, no matter the energy of the other dog or where they met, she was calm and respectful in her approach and all together easy-going in their company. Darla would love a playmate, and enjoys having a companion to navigate the world alongside but given how quickly her confidence grows she is suited for only-dog life as well. A few toys, adventures with you, and walks around the block to greet the neighbors would be plenty to keep her happy and fulfilled! Darla’s ideal home would be one where hikes and walks are a regular occurence. A house with a yard would be best given her love of bouncing around outside and her occasional awooowooo’s. Her foster family shared that they would guess she has some Husky in her because she loves to “sing.” It is pretty cute and a expression she doesn’t use excessively. With a treat offered she will go right into focused-mode with an automatic sit and her full attention on you. That quality typically translates into a dog who trains with ease. Darla enjoys toys and can easily self-entertain. If you’re tired of playing- she doesn’t mind, she’ll just play with her toys by herself! Don’t worry, she didn’t mind sharing with the other dogs or handing it over when asked. Same with food, Darla loves food but is unbothered while sharing treats, dinner or having her bowl touched. Darla will need a cat-free home, we suspect she has never met a cat before so when introduced to one she wasn’t sure enough for us to feel confident she wouldn’t chase a cat or stress one out with her every interested approach. She’s super smart, easy company and full of so much loyal love! She’s playful but not too energetic to handle, lovey but not overly pushy about it, loyal but not too “velcro,” this girl is just the best of ALL worlds! She is 100% good dog, fluffy, beautiful and ready for a life of love! It is really impressive to see how she handles new environments, she may be uncertain but she is still at ease, takes it slow, curiously checks things out and checks in with her people. She only needs a few moments before she feels good and ready for anything. The same thing can be said about her with kids too and how she meets kids! She has been around kids as young as 4 years old and her sweet nature shined through with them as well once she had spent some calmer moments with them. She was not phased by the running around, jumping, loud noises, and those random unexpected movements little ones are known for. She never jumped for affection and was gentle all the way around. We believe she has all of the traits to be a wonderful addition to a family with kids. Darla is easy on leash, but prefers a harness. It didn’t take her any time to understand the leash so nothing is set in stone there, you can try both and see what you and her prefer together Darla, her soft kisses and playful love are ready for forever! If there is anything not covered here that you are curious about, please be in touch! Be are committed to ensuring Darla is the right fit for you and your life. Story
Meet Andre – Your Big, Fluffy Shadow of LoveWho says love only comes in small packages? Sometimes it comes in an 85-pound bundle of fluff with soulful eyes and a heart full of snuggles. My name is Andre, and at 6.5 years old, I'm basically a living, breathing teddy bear looking for a forever cuddle buddy (or a whole family of them!).I might be a Great Pyrenees mix—or maybe just a mix of pure adorable—but one thing’s for sure: I’m all about love, loyalty, and snack time. My dream life? Taking walks with my people, playing tug with a furry sibling, keeping watch like the noble guardian I am, and most importantly… snuggling away your loneliness.I know some cool stuff already—like “sit,” “touch,” and “down”—but I’m eager to keep learning! I’m new to the whole 'living indoors with a family' thing, so I’ll need a little guidance as I adjust. What I lack in experience, I make up for in heart and devotion. Honestly, I’d be a fantastic emotional support buddy—I truly need to be near my humans. What if they need a hug and I’m not there??Here’s what I’m looking for:A home with a fenced yard (because zoomies happen).A family without small kiddos—I can be a bit enthusiastic when treats or snuggles are on the line!A confident, playful dog friend would be amazing!Humans who appreciate big love in a big package.I’m affectionate, smart, protective, and full of joy—just waiting for someone to share it all with. If you’re ready for a devoted companion who will love you with everything he’s got, let’s meet.Andre is ready to melt your heart—one snuggle at a time.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Story
Let me introduce you to a warm, gentle soul we call Barley. He has eyes that quietly say “tell me all about it, I’m here to listen.” And his presence is just as comforting. He can come off a touch shy when you first meet him, some of that is because he isn’t clamoring for your attention, but the truth is he is taking slow and observing. I felt like I immediately understood his energy and met him there, sitting on the ground with him and while I sweet talked him he slowly melted into leaning on on me in a way that felt like a gentle hug. He is a quiet presence like a long-time best friend and has all the traits of an adoring, loyal dog. Lucky for you he is available for adoption and ready to come home. Take a look then come back to read more- It’s no surprise, my favorite thing about Barley is how easy his company is. Slow and steady in every area, whether it is with people, on-leash for a walk, with dogs, or meeting our house cat. His demeanor and look lead us to believe he is an Anotolian shepherd mix, approximately 1.5 years old and he currently weighs 51 lbs, Breed and age are details we cannot offer 100% certainty on given the nature of him being a rescue . He may grow a smidge more but we believe he is essentially his full grown size- perfectly midsize in our opinion. Initially, we thought Barley may not be interested in other dogs because of his shy approach but we were quickly shown otherwise. As we introduced him to female on-leash, it was easy to see that he felt very comfortable with her. His tail was wagging and his body was soft and welcoming. With each additional dog he continued to show us a polite approach and an easy-going nature, no matter the size or gender of the dogs. He did really gravitate towards a larger male in a very loving way, almost like the protector energy of this dog was familiar. Although we have not seen a bouncy, playful side, we anticipate as he settles in and builds connections with dogs, we will see that side of him emerge. In addition to being dog friendly, Barley was respectful with our resident house cat. His approach was cautious and almost avoidant but before long the cat was laying nearby and he moved on in a way that showed he was not fixated or concerned with the cat. From what we saw Barley would make a peaceful addition to a home with feline friends. Barley would easily live in a home with a yard to stretch those legs, feel the sun and enjoy the breeze but he has potential for apartment life. With a quiet presence and a wonderful mid-size frame, with growing leash skills, apartments are a possibility but because of his current shyness he may need some sweet talk and treats to build confidence in busy areas. But given his age and approach to new experiences we have confidence that with time and understanding, Barley will transition smoothly into a variety of homes. A house with a yard is always wonderful but above all Barley is looking for a loving home, regular walks, a easy-going doggie companion or two, maybe even a feline friend… he is ready to quietly take on discovering the world with you by his side. If you can guard that gentle, sweet heart, he promises to help calm you from whatever the day could throw at you, fill you up with love, sweetness and loyalty in return. Looks, charm, and a golden-good heart, that’s Barley and he is ready and available to be your dream boy! Questions? Story
Let me introduce you to Camo, as his foster I am going to try and contain my absolute love of this boy long enough to simply introduce you to him, knowing you will fall for him too. First off he is the kind of dog that immediately feels like he has always been yours. Familiar, warm, a gentle soul with a peaceful presence. As a family that fosters, we have had a variety of dogs come through our home but Camo made an immediate connection with our 12 year old in the sweetest way. For almost the first two weeks of Camo being with us, the first thing she would say each morning, before even good morning was “Is Camo still here?” Followed by a “YAY!!!” When she heard us say yes. What they have is special but I would be lying if I told you it was unique. Everyone who meets Camo connects with him in a meaningful way. Camo greets familiar people just the same as “strangers,” warm, peacefully and genuinely welcoming. The best part is that despite his size, nothing about his approach is overwhelming, he understands his size and doesn’t use it to push his way into your attention. Plus, he is fully house and crate trained, uses the doggie door like a champ, and is quiet in his crate whenever he is in it. Take a look at this boy then come back to read more. The very first day we met Camo he amazed us, there wasn’t a single thing he didn’t do well by our standards. He was incredibly sweet with people but also showed great dog-to-dog skills. He’s playful, confident, and good at "reading the room" with other dogs- knowing when to chase and when to chill. Plus, he has great leash skills, he gets one quick burst of excitement about going on a walk but within a minute he settles in to an easy pace. Plus, he doesn’t need a long walk to feel satisfied. The first time I went to take him on a walk I expected we were going to be going on a long walk but it only took about .5 mile before he was showing all the signs of being ready to go home. He will go further if you’d like but he isn’t going to be pacing the house on days you can’t get a walk in. You will find him laying around or playing with a toy just as happy as can be. Camo’s very first dog interactions were polite and friendly. Whether meeting a dog on leash or being dropped into a playgroup, he has shown an incredible skill for matching the energy of the other dogs. That is a wonderful skill in a dog! He is currently fostered with a 4 year old bull terrier and a 1.5 year old rescue male who is his best buddy! They love to play chase and take turns with toys so politely. Because of his amazing approach with dogs he has helped asses hundreds of dogs coming into the Three Little Pitties Rescue program, helping shyer dogs feel at ease and matching playful dogs so that side of them shines. No matter the dog Camo has been introduced to, he has been nothing but calm, polite, and friendly. He truly amazes us each and every time he is invited into an assessment. Camo would make a wonderful addition to any pack, from smaller dogs to tall boys like him. He is even a perfect doggie-day-care boy,— he has the right social skills and temperament for a group setting. Camo is great in the car, able to load up on his own easily and he rides very peacefully. He prefers the way-back of the suv but will take a seat just as easily. Recently Camo went on a super fun doggy day out with a rescue volunteer. He got to go to Chick-fil-a for some nuggets, and not one, but two pet stores! In addition to all of that great fun, he got a relaxing walk in the park. The volunteer shared “He is wonderful! He does really well on the leash! He loved meeting everyone at the park. Everyone is his friend. He was so calm and walked really well in Pet Smart. He LOVED his nuggets from Chick-fil-a and he is calm in the car.” Good boy Camo! I’m sure your forever family will take you to do all of these fun things soon too. Camo reminds me of a lovable little brother — always ready for an adventure with you and just happy to be invited. He would be a wonderful family dog just as easily as the dream wing-man to a single someone. He’s gentle enough not to overwhelm people and has been nothing but a perfectly gentle boy with kids, having spent time with kids as young as 4 years old and living with slightly older kids age 11 & 12. Based on everything we’ve seen, he has that playful, affectionate energy that would make him a fantastic family dog. An ideal home would be a house with a yard over an apartment. While he is a pretty chill guy overall, he does have bursts of energy and playfulness that a backyard would help channel. He has potential for suburban or more rural life, but he’s probably not cut out for the hustle and bustle of a busy city environment. And as much as he is friendly and fun-loving, when he met our house cat he thought he was making a new friend but because of his size, he ended up just scaring him. His love of chase will not be matched by a feline friend so a kitty-free home will be best for him. Physically, Camo's demeanor and look lead us to believe he is an Anatolian Shepherd mix, approximately 1 year old. He currently weighs 51 lbs — a number that surprised us given his long legs (turns out a lot of it is fluff!). Breed and age are estimates, he is a rescue after all but he is essentially at his full-grown size — that perfect midsize dog if you as me! Camo is ready to bring his friendly, fun-loving adventurous spirit into your world. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who can keep up with your adventures but also settle in for some quiet snuggles, Camo might just be your perfect match. Looks, charm, playfulness, and a sweet, steady heart — that’s Camo, and he’s ready to be your guy! Questions?
