Meet Polly — the unicorn Great Pyrenees everyone dreams of finding. Some dogs are special. Polly is extraordinary. This beautiful girl has a heart as big as the mountains she was born to watch over. Polly spent her entire life living outdoors, faithfully staying where she was placed. When her owners moved away, they left her behind. But Polly never let that heartbreak change the gentle, loving soul she has always been. Thankfully, wonderful neighbors stepped in and showed Polly the kindness she deserved. They welcomed her into their lives and introduced her to new experiences, people, and adventures. Through it all, Polly proved exactly who she is: a dog who loves everyone and everything. Polly is truly a unicorn Pyrenees. She is sweet, affectionate, and easygoing. She adores people, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and takes life's changes in stride. She meets new friends with a wagging tail and a hopeful heart. Whether she's soaking up attention, relaxing by your side, or making friends wherever she goes, Polly's gentle spirit shines. Despite being let down by the people she trusted most, Polly still believes the world is full of good things. She wakes up every day ready to love, ready to forgive, and ready to find her forever family. Polly deserves a home that will cherish her as much as she cherishes everyone she meets. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold, Polly may be the perfect match. ✨ Sweet and affectionate ✨ Loves people ✨ Great with other dogs ✨ Gentle, easygoing personality ✨ A true Great Pyrenees unicorn ✨ Ready for the forever family she has always deserved Polly has spent her life loving everyone around her. Story
Emma is a beautiful 3.5-year-old Great Pyrenees with all the qualities that make this breed so beloved—loyal, gentle, intelligent, and devoted to her people. While she can be a little shy when meeting someone new, Emma warms up quickly and is happy to accept pets and affection once she feels comfortable. Beneath her reserved exterior is a sweet, sensitive girl who is looking for a family she can call her own. Emma enjoys spending time with her people but also has an independent streak, as many Great Pyrenees do. She is content to relax nearby, keeping an eye on her surroundings, and appreciates having space to do her own thing. She is house trained and has excellent manners in the home, making her an easy companion to live with. One of Emma's favorite things is meeting other dogs. She loves canine friends and enjoys playing, so she may thrive with a well-matched dog companion. Although she has never lived with other animals, she has shown positive social skills with dogs. Her experience with cats is unknown.Emma would do best in a home that understands her sensitive nature and can help build her confidence in new situations. She can become anxious during car rides and may feel nervous when entering unfamiliar buildings. With patience, consistency, and gentle encouragement, she continues to gain confidence and trust. Because she has a history of digging and attempting to escape, a secure fenced yard and attentive supervision outdoors will be important for her safety. Emma is the perfect blend of gentle affection and quiet independence. She would love a family that appreciates the unique personality of a Great Pyrenees and is willing to give her the time she needs to settle in and feel secure. In return, you'll gain a loyal companion who will be devoted to her family and always happy to be by your side. ❤️Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
Meet Andre – The Big, Goofy Lovebug You’ve Been Waiting For!Andre is a 105-pound 7.5 year old Great Pyrenees/Husky mix with a larger-than-life personality and an even bigger heart. At his core, he’s a goofy, cuddly, attention-loving boy who just wants to be near his people—whether that’s following you from room to room or flopping over for belly rubs (all four paws in the air, of course!).Andre has excellent house manners and is both house-trained and crate-trained—just say “kennel” and he happily heads to his favorite cozy spot. He knows commands like sit, down, and place, and is very treat-motivated, making him a great candidate for continued training. While he’s generally low-energy around the house, Andre does have bursts of excitement—especially on walks or when something catches his attention. He’s currently working on leash manners, as he can pull when excited, but he’s making progress. He enjoys daily walks, playing tug with his rope toy, and batting around his favorite “fishing pole” toy.Andre is good with cats and does well with children. With people, he may take a moment to warm up, but a treat quickly wins him over. He can get vocal when he sees or hears something outside, and may bark when visitors arrive, but he responds well to guidance and settling cues. He’s not the best fit for dog parks or high-energy dog interactions, as he can get overwhelmed and unsure how to channel his excitement. However, with the right match and introductions, he may be able to live with another calm pet. What makes Andre truly special is his lovable, slightly goofy charm. He’s been known to stop people in their tracks just to admire how handsome he is—and once you meet him, you’ll understand why. He gives the best “side eye,” loves a good sniff of anything new in the house, and will happily soak up all the affection you’re willing to give.Andre would do best in a home that can provide structure, patience, and continued guidance—especially around managing his excitement. A yard and a family who can help him feel secure and understood would be ideal. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and entertaining companion who will keep you smiling every day, Andre is ready to be your new best friend. All CAWS pets are fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Andre’s adoption fee is $200. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis—we focus on finding the perfect match for each animal.Ready for big love from an even bigger heart?Apply to adopt Andre here: http://caws.org/adoption-application If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationJune 18, 2026, 7:35 am

He adores people and does great with other dogs.  His coat was shaved at a previous shelter due to matting and foxtails, once it grows back he'll be an incredibly fluffy handsome boy. This sweet boy is being fostered in West Jordan, Utah. Please check back soon for updates as he's still quite new to us. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 8, 2026, 12:51 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. When we saw so many dogs in need, over 100 Pyrs in a hoarding case in NM, we wanted to help. Apollo was the worst case of Lupus out of the boys. Had lived on a chain his whole life. This beautiful, sweet and gentle boy has been in his foster home for several weeks now and has made so much progress! His foster family has learned so much about him.  Apollo is a quiet, for a Pyr, gentle soul. He definitely prefers women, his foster mom is his favorite and who he is the most comfortable around. Other family members are ok but she is the one who gets the snuggles and loves! Apollo lives next door to several neighbor dogs. It has taken him a while to get used to them barking at him, and some he is still afraid of. So this sweet guy needs to be in a home where even the neighbor dogs are friendly towards him.  He is totally house trained, has been from the moment he got to his foster! He is also a dream on a leash! Apollo is respectful around kiddos but they are a bit overwhelming for him. So a home with older kiddos or none would be preferred.  He also really might enjoy a nice, calm, confident female doggo to play with. He's had a couple of play dates and he's really come out of his shell! Apollo needs a patient forever home, where he can continue to progress at his own pace, with a family who understands dogs from hoarding situations can take time.  Apollo is being fostered in Utah.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 11, 2026, 1:51 pm
