Maverick is everything you could want in a young Greyhound—sweet, social, curious, and full of life! This handsome youngster absolutely adores his people and greets them with joyful puppy enthusiasm. He can be a little bouncy when he's excited to see you (he is still a puppy, after all!), but he's not hyper—just a happy boy who enjoys being part of the family.
Maverick is currently recovering beautifully from a hock fracture. His cast is expected to come off after July 27, and he will then be ready to begin the next chapter of his life with a loving family. During his continued healing, he'll need modified activity, including leash walks and avoiding rough play while he finishes recovering.
He's a curious explorer with just the right amount of energy and has a charming personality that wins people over quickly. When left alone, Maverick settles nicely in his crate, which helps keep his inquisitive nature from getting him into puppy mischief.
Maverick has shown a bit too much curiosity around cats, but with an adopter who understands positive training and proper introductions, he has the potential to learn to ignore them. He's eager to please and enjoys learning.
Friendly and outgoing, Maverick loves meeting new people and has the kind of easygoing personality that could make him a wonderful companion for a family, including one with respectful younger children.
