Elsie is a 6 month old Havapoo weighing about 8 pounds, rescued from the shelter after coming in as a stray. Now safe in foster care, this little fluff ball is showing everyone just how special she is— and it’s easy to see why she’s going to be scooped up quickly. Elsie is very much a puppy: full of fun, sweetness, and curiosity. When she first arrived, she jumped right into life with enthusiasm, eager to play and explore her surroundings. As she’s settled in, her happy, engaged personality has really shined. She’s playful, affectionate, and loves being part of whatever is going on around her. While she’s still so excited about life that it’s hard for her to fully relax in someone’s arms, she has already fallen asleep on her foster’s lap once— proof that the cuddly side is there. Her mornings start early, as puppies often do. She may cry to be let out at first, but she’s familiar with pee pads and will use one before happily going back to sleep until around 6:30 a.m. Her foster is working on a routine of eating, playing, and resting— either in her crate or curled up nearby— and Elsie is learning quickly, even if playtime is clearly her favorite activity. Elsie lives with a 6-year-old, 25-pound Labradoodle and absolutely adores him. She happily wrestles, chases him around, and even mimics what he’s doing. She would thrive in a home with another playful dog and would also do wonderfully with kids. She’s curious about cats too, showing interest without fear. Energy-wise, Elsie is playful and lively, but she’s beginning to learn how to settle. She’s just so thrilled to be involved that slowing down is a skill she’s still practicing. On walks, she’s learning the ropes and improving each day. Potty training is a work in progress, as expected for her age. She can get distracted outside and isn’t always quick to go, and she’s had a few indoor accidents. With consistent training and patience, she’s well on her way. She’s also learning to settle in her crate and may bark when she sees you, but she improves every day. One thing that truly sets Elsie apart is her intelligence and charm. She already knows how to sit and has learned a trick called “dance.” She’s almost bipedal, walking on her back legs for impressively long stretches—like a tiny circus dog— and it’s every bit as adorable as it sounds. Elsie is soft, sweet, full of love, and absolutely irresistible. She’s the kind of puppy who brings joy, laughter, and warmth into a home, and she’s ready to grow up alongside a family who will continue her training, enjoy her playful spirit, and appreciate all the affection she has to give.January 18, 2026, 4:09 pm
