Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $800   Chappell Roan is a 4 month old Havanese mix who is H-O-T-T-O-G-O home with her forever family! This superstar puppy was surrendered to our shelter when her former home decided they weren’t ready for a puppy. Well, we strapped on our pink pony shoes and scooped her up, promising her a life of adventure and love ahead! Chappell has been an absolute joy for our volunteers and is a total rescue favorite (especially for those who love her namesake). This gal has a combination coat (mom and dad are a mystery) so she won’t be an option for those with allergies. We expect she will be in the 10-15 pound range when she is fully grown. Once you meet her, you won’t be able to “Picture” yourself without her!    Chappell Roan is a sweet and loving little gal with a heart of pure gold. She loves belly rubs, giving kisses, and showing off her adoration for her people. Chappell adores her stuffed toys and would love nothing more than a plush throne fit for a queen in her forever home. It’s so fun to watch her drag around toys bigger than her as she goes about her puppy activities. She has an absolutely fabulous temperament with a silly personality. She knows how to make her people laugh and she shows off her sense of humor whenever she gets the zoomies, hopping around the yard with a wagging tail. When she gets older and can go on walks, we think she would be a fabulous adventure companion. She has the spirit of an explorer and doesn’t let silly things like “being small” slow her down from living her best life. She turns heads when she prances around, so prepare for a lifetime of free treats and pup cups. Chappell Roan faces the world with a sunny personality and an enthusiasm we wish we could have. This girl will wish you “Good Luck Babe” every time you bend down to scratch her belly. What a superstar and what a perfect puppy, truly the best combo!  Chappell Roan starts her morning at 8 AM with a wagging tail as her foster parents let her out of her pen for belly rubs and kisses. She goes outside for potty and then zooms back inside for her morning meal. Since she can’t go on walks yet, she spends her days zooming around her yard, snoozing on her dog beds, getting cuddles from her foster parents, and hanging with her canine foster sister! In the afternoon, Chappell gets some training time (she’s already learned sit!) before she takes a well-deserved nap. Dinner is served at 5 PM which she happily devours. After she finishes and goes out for a potty break, she settles onto the couch for a snuggle session as she catches up on her fan mail. She heads to her crate for the night at 8 PM. Chappell Roan gets along fabulously with dogs of all ages and sizes. She would love a canine sibling in her forever home but would also be fine as a solo artist, as long as her people are ready to adore her. She ADORES her fans (and her humans) and knows how adorable she is, soaking up pets and cuddles wherever she goes. Interested homes must be prepared to discuss plans for continued training and socialization to ensure she is a canine good citizen as an adult. There is nothing “Casual” about how much you will love our gal Chappell!    Chappell Roan is only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last five years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7.July 26, 2024, 2:33 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $800   Juniper is a 14 week old Havanese x Poodle mix who is ready to live her best life with her forever people! This adorable gal was surrendered to our rescue when her former home bought her from a friend before realizing they weren't ready to have a puppy in the home. They reached out to us and asked if we would be able to take her into our rescue and we agreed. Truly how could we resist when she looked at us with those puppy dog eyes? She has been living her best and fluffiest life with her forever home ever since and now she is ready to find the absolute best forever home! Juniper looks like a little teddy bear and has the fluffiest little face you have ever seen in your entire life! We expect she will be around 12-15 pounds when she reaches her adult weight. She has a non-shedding coat as of now, so she may be an option for those with allergies or who just want less hair around the house. Interested homes should be prepared to discuss their plans for grooming and coat maintenance. Juniper is ready to make you fall in love with her and start a lifetime of love and adventure!    Juniper is a loving and playful puppy with a heart of gold and a tail that never stops wagging with excitement for the world around her! She adores her foster brother and happily spends her time zooming around the yard with him, playing with her toys, and chasing him around with a wagging tail. She is a total character and learned quickly how to get all the attention she knows she deserves, placing her paw on you when you stop petting her before she decides you are done. She is such a hilarious little girl who makes her foster parents laugh nonstop. Her tail has truly never stopped wagging since we got her and introduced her into our rescue which makes every minute you spend with her one for the photo album! Juniper is not a lap dog but she does love following her people from room to room, so we expect she will become more snuggly as she gets older. She is a total joy to have around and makes her sunny personality known to all who meet her. Juniper is very playful but knows when to get her lounge on (after a day of play and excitement). She would be an amazing adventure companion but could also be a perfect companion for a day of errands around town. Juniper would adore having a canine sibling in her forever home, or a family ready to give her all the attention she deserves. She loves attention and makes her presence known when she thinks she is lacking in love or affection. This is a gal who knows how cute and fluffy she is and she won’t let you forget it for even a minute! Juniper gets cuter by the day and we know she will beloved by the entire neighborhood. If you are looking for new friends around the block, she will make sure you meet everyone and become best friends!  Juniper wakes up at 7 AM in her crate with a wagging tail and a smile on her face. She heads outside for a potty break and then runs around the yard with her canine foster sibling. She has breakfast around 8 AM and then spends a few hours hanging out in the living room relaxing. In the afternoon, Juniper spends her time zooming around the house and yard playing with her foster brother who loves having an active playmate. When her foster mom goes into the office for a few hours, Juniper happily goes into her crate and chews on a toy before she takes a well-deserved nap. In the evening, she goes back into the yard for some more zoomies before she enjoys her dinner at 6 PM. After she eats, she hops up on the couch for some kisses and cuddles as she catches up on her reality TV (hello Bachelorette fans)! Juniper goes out for one last potty session and then heads into her crate at 10 PM where she sleeps through the night.   Juniper currently lives with two canine foster siblings and she adores them both. She also gets along with the resident cat. She is too young for walks currently but loves watching the squirrels in the yard. She is crate-trained and familiar with potty pads. She is making progress with her house training. Juniper would love a home who is ready to show her all the love she deserves. She has a tail that never stops wagging and has boundless enthusiasm for the world around her. She is such a character and we know that she will be a perfect addition to the home lucky enough to welcome her into their home. Ready for a new best friend? Bring home Juniper today!     Juniper is only an option for those homes who have owned a dog in the last five years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8. July 26, 2024, 2:33 pm

Caterpillar was surrendered to our rescue with her brother, Butterfly after their former home decided they no longer wanted to handle the grooming requirements of a non-shedding breed. We will be seeking different homes for each dog as we do not place siblings together. Caterpillar has an adorable face and an even more amazing personality. She has made every single volunteer fall in love with her and we have no doubt she will do the same for her future family. Caterpillar has a non-shedding coat that will require regular grooming. Interested homes must be prepared to discuss their plans for coat maintenance. She is an option for those with allergies or for those who just want less hair around the house. If you are looking for a dog ready to bloom into your new best friend, look no further than our best girl, Caterpillar!     Caterpillar is the most friendly, loving, and energetic dog in the world! She has so much love for the world around her and will shower you in hugs and kisses forever. She is a huge cuddle bug and it is impossible not to fall in love with her once you meet her. Her tail never stops wagging as she trots around her house and yard, often with a toy in her mouth as she seeks someone to spend her days with. Caterpillar would love a home where she can spend her days adoring her people, following you as you go about your day. Caterpillar is more on the energetic and playful side but she knows when to chill as well! She would be an amazing companion for a day at the beach, a brunch spot, a trip to the park, or a day playing fetch in the yard. Basically, as long as you are by her side, she is down for it all! Caterpillar is ready to make the world her oyster as she greets it with a smile! This girl truly knows how to find the beauty in everything and we know how lucky her future family will be to have her!   Caterpillar starts her morning at 9:30 AM with breakfast followed by a trip outside for potty. She spends her mornings lounging in the yard, checking out the sniffs and sights of the nature around her. She gets a walk in the afternoon followed by another walk in the early evening. She loves sniffing around and meeting all of her canine neighbors. Once she comes home, she loves to cuddle on the couch or play with the toys she has strewn around the house. She is great at entertaining herself while her foster parents go about their workday. She has dinner at 7 PM and then gets her zoomies out in the yard while her foster parents have their evening meal. She hangs out on the couch for a few hours as everyone unwinds from the day before she goes out for one last potty trip. She heads to bed in her crate at 10 PM and sleeps through the night in her crate.  Caterpillar adores dogs of all ages and sizes and makes everyone her new best friend. She has met people of all ages and showered them in kisses and snuggles. Caterpillar is learning how to walk on the leash and is doing well at learning to ignore distractions. She would love a yard or a place to zoom around as she gets comfortable. Caterpillar is ready to cocoon herself into your arms and make herself right at home!    Caterpillar is an option for homes with prior dog experience, even if that experience is less recent. Homes must be prepared to discuss grooming. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7.July 26, 2024, 2:33 pm
