Puff is the kind of dog who may start out a bit shy, but once he feels safe, his loving nature shines through in the most endearing ways.   Puff’s day usually begins around 8:30 a.m. After waking up, he heads out for a morning walk around 9:00 a.m., followed by breakfast. He’s happy with a calm routine and prefers a peaceful home environment. During the day, Puff mostly relaxes indoors and has a habit of curling up under the bed or nearby, keeping himself close but not demanding. In the evenings, he settles nicely into his crate and sleeps there peacefully through the night, showing that he’s comfortable with structure and downtime.   Personality-wise, Puff is polite, patient, and very sweet-natured. When he first arrived, he was understandably shy, but he adjusted quickly and began mingling with ease. As he’s settled in, his affectionate side has really come out. He loves being near his person and will happily follow from room to room, wagging his tail along the way. He’s a gentle “shadow” dog who enjoys companionship and reassurance, and he can get a bit vocal when left alone, expressing that he truly values being around his people.   Puff is more of a lounger than a high-energy dog. He’s content spending much of the day relaxing on the couch, though he does perk up with excitement when greeting someone he hasn’t seen in a while. On walks, he does very well on leash and doesn’t pull. He does get excited by pigeons and may try to chase them, and he tends to bark at other dogs while out and about, though this is more just communication and enthusiasm, as he gets along with other dogs and lived with other dogs in the shelter.   Puff is housebroken and crate trained and does not chew, dig, or get into mischief. He does bark when someone comes over, walks past the house, or enters a room, which makes him a bit of a tiny watchdog, but otherwise he’s very well-mannered and eager to follow instructions. One of his standout traits is how responsive and cooperative he is— he listens beautifully and doesn’t require much convincing to do what’s asked of him.   Puff seems to have a sensitive stomach and his adopter will need to work with their veterinarian to find a diet that works for him.   Puff would do wonderfully in a loving, patient home that appreciates a calm, affectionate companion. He’s a truly special dog— sweet, gentle, and eager to please— and he’s ready to bring his quiet magic into the right family’s life.January 2, 2026, 4:26 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $750 Tuxedo is a 4–5 year old, 12 lb Hava-poo (non-shedding) who came to us from the shelter after being very ill with an upper respiratory infection. Thanks to a prompt vet visit, medication, and plenty of rest, Tux has made a full recovery and is now feeling great. What emerged once he was healthy is a gentle, observant, quietly affectionate little dog with a big heart and a calm presence.   Tux starts his day with whoever wakes up first in the house — whether that’s 5:30 am or 7:30 am, he’s ready to roll. He begins with a quick trip outside, followed by breakfast. About 30 minutes later, he heads out for his first walk of the day. Walks are one of his favorite activities, and he gets to enjoy several throughout the day. In between outings, Tux likes to curl up in a chair where he can keep an eye on his foster dad while he works, content to quietly supervise. He enjoys being near his people without needing to be the center of attention.   When Tux first arrived, he was understandably subdued and spent the first couple of days quietly curled up under the Christmas tree, resting and recovering. As he began to feel better, his true personality slowly emerged. He is a very chill, low-drama little guy who enjoys the company of his foster family and is especially interested whenever anyone is in the kitchen. In the evenings, if one foster parent goes to bed before the other, Tux will wait and hang out until everyone is ready before settling in for the night himself. He chooses to sleep on the floor, happily curling up on a soft fleece blanket rather than climbing onto furniture or laps.   Tux is affectionate in his own gentle way. He happily greets new people and welcomes head and ear rubs, but he is not a big kisser or a dog who wants to be held or sit in laps. He prefers to show his love by staying nearby, quietly keeping company. He would thrive with people who appreciate this more subtle, respectful form of affection and allow trust to continue building at his pace.   Although his household doesn’t include other pets, Tux has met several dogs while out on walks and has done well with polite sniffs and calm interactions.   Energy-wise, Tux is mostly a lounger who enjoys relaxing on a fleece blanket near his people. He isn’t much of a ball chaser and has only recently begun to show interest in soft, furry toys. His most animated moments happen when he knows it’s time for a walk — he does an adorable little jumpy, pouncy dance while waiting for his leash to be clipped on. During the holidays, with lots of people coming and going, he greeted everyone who walked through the door with a gentle wag, making him a polite and welcoming presence.   On leash, Tux is a dream. He walks nicely without pulling, sometimes preferring to pause and observe something interesting happening nearby rather than rushing along. He is curious about the world, enjoys investigating new smells, and greets both two- and four-legged neighbors with the same friendly, calm demeanor.   Tux is housetrained and prefers to do his business while out on walks. A crate is available to him but has not been needed, as he is trustworthy and settles well on his own.   He is a very quiet dog. His foster has only heard him bark two or three times total. He does not chew out of boredom and doesn’t seem particularly interested in chewing at all, even crunchy treats. Recently, he has started to whimper and pace a bit when one foster parent leaves, suggesting some mild separation sensitivity that should continue to improve with consistency and reassurance.   Tux’s ideal home would be a calm, thoughtful one with active adults who enjoy walks and exploring new places. He is smart, picks up routines quickly, and would benefit from a home that enjoys providing gentle enrichment without chaos. He would do best with people who respect that he shows affection in quieter ways and does not need constant physical closeness. Because he has a non-shedding coat, his future family should be familiar with or committed to regular brushing and professional grooming as part of his care.   What sets Tux apart is his peaceful nature and steady companionship. He may appreciate his space, but he is a wonderful dog to relax with or walk alongside — a little dog with a big heart. And if you want a smile, just watch him come home from a walk: his little legs scramble on the hardwood floors, spinning him in place like a cartoon character until he finds his footing. Sweet, funny, and endearing, Tuxedo is ready for a loving home that will appreciate him exactly as he is.January 2, 2026, 11:37 am

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $800 Meet Justin Bieber, a 10–12 month old, 19 lb Havanese mix whose shelter haircut was so dramatic it earned him his name. When Justin first arrived at the shelter, he was severely matted with thick, dirty fur and clearly uncomfortable. Once he was shaved down, a well-meaning but goofy stylist left him with a long mane flopped over his face. That signature look has since been trimmed so he can see where he’s going, and his soft coat is already growing back beautifully. What hasn’t changed is his sweet expression and joyful, puppyish spirit.   Justin has settled into a lovely daily routine in foster care. His mornings start around 7:30 am with a trip outside for potty time, followed by breakfast. He’s a very enthusiastic eater, so his meals are served in two parts to slow him down. He’s come a long way with food and now happily eats kibble, something that took a bit of patience and transition. Around 8:00 am, he heads back outside for official business, followed by some backyard exploring before settling in for naps, cuddles, and playtime. He enjoys fetch, squeaky toys, and lounging near his people throughout the day. Around 4:00 pm, he goes for a leash walk, which he truly loves. Dinner is served around 6:00 pm, again in two parts, followed by an evening potty break, a burst of joyful zoomies, and more snuggles. His final potty trip is around 10:00 pm, and by 11:00 pm he is ready for bed, sleeping quietly in his crate without issue. He’ll even walk into it on his own. If he’s wearing a cone, he settles just as well on a dog bed on the floor.   Personality-wise, Justin is an absolute delight. When he first arrived, he was clearly uncomfortable and had moments of howling and whining, likely from pain related to his condition at intake. Despite that, all he wanted was affection, even though being touched around his neck hurt. He greeted discomfort with kisses and a wagging tail. As he’s healed and settled in, his true personality has emerged: playful, spunky, affectionate, and incredibly loving. If you’re looking for a dog who truly loves his people, Justin is your guy. He adores fetch and has the most hilarious bouncy gallop when he runs. Squeaky toys are his greatest joy and motivate him as much as high-value treats, though he’s gentle with them and not destructive. He’s just as happy to curl up next to you on the couch, rest his head in your lap, and quietly ask for pets and belly rubs. He’ll often roll right onto his back, belly up, hoping you get the hint.   Justin is good with other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion who wants to play. He currently lives with a 5-year-old Scottie and would happily play longer if his housemate were more interested. He’s playful but not over-the-top and has a nice balance of energy and calm. He enjoys activity, walks, and play sessions, but he’s also very content being a lap dog and couch companion.   On leash, Justin is happy and curious. He doesn’t have a perfect heel and likes to move at a brisk pace, but he doesn’t pull much and loves to stop and sniff his surroundings. He is housetrained and does not use pee pads. His signal to go out is subtle—he simply goes to the back door—so someone paying attention to his routine will do best. He hasn’t learned to use a doggy door yet and is a bit afraid of it, though he’s otherwise not a skittish dog. Rain is not his favorite, and he’ll need encouragement or a leash escort to go out when the weather is wet.   Justin doesn’t dig or chew and only barks when someone comes to the door. He does, however, snore, which his foster finds endlessly amusing. One of the most special things about Justin is how resilient and loving he is. Despite clearly being in pain when he first arrived, he never stopped seeking affection. Now that he’s feeling better, his playful puppy side shines. One recent evening, he entertained himself for hours, tossing toys into the air and chasing them, bouncing around the house with pure joy. Watching him rediscover how fun it is to be a puppy has been incredibly heartwarming.   Justin Bieber is a sweet, funny, affectionate young dog who would thrive in a home that offers love, daily walks, playtime, and plenty of couch space for snuggling. He’s not overly demanding, but he truly enjoys companionship and being part of everyday life. His transformation has been remarkable, and he’s more than ready to bring laughter, love, and a little bounce into his forever home.  January 3, 2026, 12:28 pm
