Story
Blue Valley is a stunning black and white Havanese with gorgeous, light-colored eyes. He may have an unconventional haircut, but we’ve all been there and tried something that doesn’t work – the good news is that hair grows back and this mutt will be sporting a thicker coat in no time. A bit of a party animal, Blue Valley is a big success with the ladies and sometimes enthusiastically introduces himself, which can be a lot for some, but he thinks he’s just enough. Blue Valley is a party animal and the true life of the party, so he’s just looking for a forever home that could use some pizzazz. If you were looking for something to shake up your routine, try Blue Valley!

Story
Update 6/14/26 from her foster home: Gigi is a sweet gentle soul who's looking for her forever home. Estimated to be around 6-7 years old she's a calm easy-going companion who loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa next to her person. Despite having limited vision due to cataract. Gigi gets around remarkably well. She listens for your footsteps and follows you from room to room can use the stairs and is great on walks. Her adaptability is amazing and everyone who meets her falls in love because she's so cute gentle and fluffy. What makes Gigi special is she's quiet well mannered and rarely barks. She's cuddly and trusting and just wants to be near you. She's dog friendly and does great with other dogs and feels most secure with a canine companion. She's house trained and an easy eater. Friendly with everyone she meets people and dogs alike. What she needs is a quiet home. Her limited eyesight makes her sensitive to loud or sudden noises so a calm neighborhood is ideal. She'll also need a future spay and potential cataract surgery can help fix her vision and continued eye supplements. She also has a small lump on her stomach which hasn't grown but should be tested. Since arriving in her foster's home Gigi has gained healthy weight and her coat has grown back soft and fluffy. Early vet tests didn't show signs of diabetes or other health issues. She's a happy healthy girl who just needs someone to call her own. FFR has already invested thousands into her early vet care and is fundraising for cataract surgery and dental care. If you'd like help donations are always appreciated: furryfriendsrescue.org/donations Original posting: We rescued Gigi from a distant shelter. The shelter person told us that she was maybe about 4-5 yrs old and very friendly. Great with dog buddy in her kennel. One shelter staff person said she didn't notice all the medical needs that Gigi has. Gigi was neglected matted and very dirty with bad smell. Dog friendly. When she went to our vet he told us she is older and that she needed dental and had some gum inflammation has lump on belly (need to remove & biopsy) not spayed and has double cataracts (vet did eye dye tests). Blood and urine tests shows no diabetes which can cause cataracts. Vet gave her eye drops. She has poor vision but sees light and large objects. She is getting around fine at her foster home and does great on walks. She can manage going up and down stairs. We have spent over $1000 so far on first exam eye blood & urine tests shave down/bath medications and all her vet care. Healthy foods eye vitamins and drops have help her. Healthier and sees well. Donations are greatly needed and appreciated. Thank you. 🥰 https://www.furryfriendsrescue.org/donations 3/14/26 Foster Home Update: Gigi is a really remarkable little girl. I’m surprised by her everyday! She’s able to get around quite easily on her own despite the occasional light booping against my leg or a wall. She listens for my footsteps and able to follow me around. She’s quiet and easy going. Friendly with other dogs and everyone we meet on the street. I’m amazed by how easily she’s adapted to San Francisco streets. Her poor eyesight doesn’t seem to be slowing her down. She’s trusting cuddly and just likes to be nearby. She’s also an easy eater and house trained. All my friends and neighbors who’ve met her think she’s the sweetest.YouTube: https://youtu.be/mQwFiUOiwdASeptember 10, 2026, 12:50 am

Story
Perla is a two to three year old no shed mix. Breeds we think she could be include poodle, havanese, and schnauzer. She was confiscated from a hoarding, neglect, cruelty situation along with other dogs. Her fur was a matted mess. The shelter gave her anesthesia to shave off the mats and I did the best I could to even out her very short coat. She is silkie soft and not difficult to groom. She will be even cuter when she grows a little more fluff. She was pretty traumatized and shy, especially of men, but is becoming more confident every day. My husband is making great progress winning her over. When she first arrived here I couldn't get her to come inside. Now she always wants to be where I am. She's either in my lap or in the dog bed under the table where I work. She was instantly comfortable with a visiting ten year old child. She likes other dogs, but sometimes needs to be encouraged to share a lap. She's becoming playful and likes to toss around fabric dog toys. She will need some leash training. She is crate trained for overnight and is doing very well with daytime house breaking. A new family needs to be committed to finishing that up. If you think you are the right home for Perla, please submit an application at 1luckydogrescue.org. Please note, if you don't receive a response in a couple of days please assume Perla has found her forever home.

Story
Bella is a sweet little Poodle mix, about 2 years old and only 11 lbs. with a soft white coat, warm brown eyes, and a cheerful personality that is beginning to shine. Bella came from very poor conditions, and in just three weeks in a loving foster home she has started to discover something entirely new: comfort, companionship, playtime, walks, treats, and people she can trust. She is friendly, affectionate, and happiest when she can be near you. Bella loves to cuddle, enjoys going for walks, and gets along well with children. She is also doing beautifully with the two other dogs in her foster home. Although she is tiny, she is no pushover — she happily joins in the fun, holds her own with the other dogs, and plays until she is ready for a well-earned rest. Bella sleeps near her foster family’s bed and seems to take comfort in simply knowing her people are close by. She is mostly house trained and is beginning to understand commands and routines. She is very treat motivated, which should make continued training both easy and fun. She will bark at strangers from time to time, but she is not an excessive barker. More than anything, Bella seems eager to be part of a family and to enjoy all the ordinary things she may not have had before. What is especially touching about Bella is watching her confidence grow. After such a difficult beginning, she is learning that hands can be gentle, homes can be safe, other dogs can be friends, and people can be trusted. Bella would be wonderful for someone looking for a small, affectionate companion who enjoys walks, cuddles, playtime, and simply being close. A home with another friendly dog could also be a lovely fit for her. If you are interested in adopting Bella, please complete our application at 1luckydogrescue.org

Story
Meet 3 year oldTofu — a little dog with a BIG heart! Tofu is a young, sweet, playful pup who makes you smile the moment you meet her. She absolutely loves people and is quickly discovering how wonderful life can be in a loving home. She has settled into her foster home beautifully and is learning the household routine quickly. She’s doing amazingly well with potty training and was accident-free within a week of arriving! She’s also warming up to her crate and learning that it’s a safe, cozy place to relax. Tofu has plenty of puppy energy and would love a family who enjoys walks, playtime, and adventures. She’s been wonderful with children so far and seems to have never met a person she didn’t like! She already knows her name and is working on her leash manners. She’s still learning to resist all the exciting distractions on walks, but she’s smart, eager to learn, and making great progress. Tofu also has a silly, playful side. She loves rolling around on her dog bed, romping in the grass, and—perhaps most of all—MEALTIME! This adorable little girl is ready for a forever family who will continue guiding her as she grows and give her all the love, exercise, and companionship she deserves. If you’re looking for a fun-loving little companion with a huge personality, Tofu might just be your girl! ❤️ Tofu is currently in foster care with One Planet Rescue and is ready to find her forever family.  September 4, 2026, 5:01 pm
