Story
Niles COH is a 1 year old neutered Havanese and Lhasa Apso Mix with a soft, expressive face and a gentle, observant way of moving through the world. He arrived as an owner surrender alongside Bella Bee and Big Foot, and is now settling into a new environment with quiet curiosity. He has a thoughtful personality—more of a watcher than a rush-in type—taking time to understand his surroundings before engaging. Once he feels comfortable, Niles shows a calm affection and enjoys steady companionship, especially from people who respect his pace and let him come forward on his own terms. Niles would do best in a home that offers consistency, patience, and a peaceful rhythm. In the right environment, he has all the makings of a deeply loyal little companion who bonds with intention and stays close to the ones he trusts. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. Please find our application at lovejoyfoundation.org when you come to an event please bring that filled out in hand with you. You can find our application at Lovejoyfoundation.org. Please note a Petfinder and Adoptapet Inquiry is not applying for the dog. You have to come to the event or send an email inquiry to our records email.

Nino 2 years old | Havanese + Lhasa Apso Mix | Neutered male Fresh from Bakersfield and ready for a brand-new chapter, Nino is bringing charm, fluff, and just the right amount of sass. PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST BEFORE INQUIRING AND PLEASE REFRAIN FROM REACHING OUT UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO COMMIT THESE ANIMALS DESERVE SOMEONE READY TO COMMIT TO THEM! Text or email for direct contact with rescuer located in Palmdale approved for same-day adoption (661)609-2186 memeco635@gmail.com Hey guys, I’m Marley. I’m a Havanese Maltipoo mix. My brother and I were surrendered by our Previous Owners family. Unfortunately, they got deported and their family didn’t want to take care of us. I’ve spent most of my life outside, but I am potty trained since coming to the rescue. I’ve made a lot of new friends and I’m very social and very sweet. My rescuer thought it would be nice to hire someone who didn’t have much experience to give me a haircut so I’m looking a little funny right now, but when my hair grows back, I promise I’ll look like my original picture. She decided not to allow that person to shave my brother, but I am more social and outgoing and playful, and I would be great as an only dog or a companion for another dog. I’m pretty laid-back. I don’t have any bad habits, but I really love people I would fit almost any family dynamic whether you live in an apartment or a big house I would do great. I do understand most commands in Spanish, but I’m learning to understand English. If you think I would make a great addition to your family, please reach out to my rescuer with the information listed above my story text or email only please as calls do not go through and schedule a time to meet with me I am approved for same-day adoption and I look forward to meeting you!

Story
Milo is a 5 year old Havanese Bichon mix who has been such a joy in our lives for the past 5 years. He is so playful, sassy, and just overall well tempered and friendly dog. We have been so lucky to call him ours over the years. We are expecting our second baby and are no longer capable of giving him the care and attention he needs and deserves. We are so devastated, but ultimately know he should be with a loving family that can give him the right amount of attention.

These pups are in Santa Monica, California too!

Story
Meet our absolutely perfect girl, Pebbles! She is an approx 8/9 year old, 21lb, Bichon/Poodle mix that is THE sweetest dog ever! Pebble came to our rescue in 2021 when we saved her from a local shelter where she was brought in with a leg injury and was at risk of being euthanized. We got Pebbles out and straight to our vet where they did an FHO surgery on her leg and have her a couple months of recovery, she was good as new! Pebbles was adopted a few years ago and late last year her owner surrendered her back to us due to personal reasons. We are looking for a forever home for our sweet girl that has another nice and playful dog. Once Pebbles warms up, she will initiate play and loves to run around and chase her dog friends. She is such a good dog all around. She is calm, mellow, playful, happy, and so loving! Her favorite thing is belly rubs! We are looking for a home that has owners that are not gone long hours during the day and has a safe/secure backyard. She absolutely loves to lay outside in the sun, especially on the grass or dirt..lol! Pebbles has been through a lot in the last few years and deserves the best forever home out there! Pebbles is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Please contact us at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020 We only adopt in So Calif as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required.

Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET MS. POPPY….a very sweet, very unique looking (one eye with black eyelashes and the other with white!), 3 yr old, white/gray, 12 lb girl who looks like a Lhasa/Maltese mix. It’s difficult to tell with her current haircut (shaved before we got her), so her breed is still a bit of a mystery? This poor baby was hit by a car and left on the side of the road 🙁 A good Samaritan saw the accident, called Animal Control and got her to the Harbor Animal Shelter. They sent out a rescue blast and we answered the call! Poppy has a broken pelvis, but she is healing well and will likely be available by May 10-17, when she is 100% healed (expected to make a full recovery). It’s difficult to evaluate Poppy’s personality, since she is mostly getting cage rest, but we can tell you with 100% certainty that once this girl is out of her crate nothing will stop her! Even with a pelvis that isn’t completely healed, she is doing her best to walk, even run, if we don’t stop her! She gives lots of kisses and wants to play, play, play. She does not like being left alone in her crate and she will let you know! Otherwise, she seems quiet and happy. She loves other dogs and definitely should have one of her own! Because of her activity level, we don’t think Poppy would be well suited for a senior home. She’d love to become a part of an active family, with another dog, or an individual who wants a full time companion to spoil and love. Does that sound like you? Apply now, she won’t last long! Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. We will contact you once it has been reviewed. Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Our event is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET APOLLO…..a stunning, 7 yr old (DOB October, 2018), 15 lb, tan, Lhasa Apso X, who was given up because his family lost their housing during government shut down and were evicted! They provided all positive info about him, and it’s clear they loved him dearly. However, he was purchased at a pet store as a “mini Shih Tzu.” WRONG!!! This boy may not be 100% Lhasa (we never promote as purebred ), but he looks more like a Lhasa than a Shih Tzu and isn’t a “mini” — he’s just the right size. Apollo was shut down when he arrived; but now, when we come home, he gets really excited and circles to express his glee! He came with a horrible case of kennel cough (for 3 weeks) and a double eye infection. He took his meds like a champ, but he did not enjoy drops put in his eyes because they sting and he let us know! But, for that reason we think he would be better off in an adult home. He was great with the ointment and he’s now better, but he does have slight dry eye and will need daily ointment. He gives gentle kisses to let you know he loves you anyway! If you put him in your arms and love him….he’s all yours. We believe a family who understands the Lhasa personality will adore Apollo, who is a lover, not a fighter! Apollo is a good eater! He loves to be loved and really needs extra TLC right now. Seems to be potty trained, but we never guarantee. At our house Apollo was great with other dogs and loves to play. The ideal home for him would either be a calm but active environment where he gets oodles of attention (doesn’t like being left alone) or one with another single dog (maybe female) he can bond with. Will you let Apollo light up your heart and life…and will you light up his? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling.
