Story
Rose is a sweet 9 yr old Havanese Shih Tzu mix. Her previous family used this pretty girl to make puppies for extra cash. When her owner died, she eventually ended up living in a mechanic shop! When we found out about their situation, we immediately sent a volunteer to go and rescue them. Rose is with Rufus, who is possibly her son. Both dogs are very sweet, well behaved and affectionate. Both Rose and Rufus are friendly, and get along well with new people, other dogs and children. Rufus is about 3 yrs old, very sweet, loving and mellow. He gets along well with other dogs, cats and kids. We had him examined by our vet, neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Rose is loving senior, about 9 yrs old, and is possibly Rufus' mother. Rose is a Havanese/ Shih Tzu mix. She is healthy, and we have had her spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Rose gets along well with other dogs and children, but is very interested in cats, so should go to a home that is cat free. Rose has some previously untreated skin issues, but is otherwise healthy. Both dogs are small, well behaved and extremely loving. They are easy going and don't have any destructive habits like digging, barking or chewing. They are content to just be around someone. They grew up as part of a family and will easily fit into any home. They are low energy and would be perfect for a retired person or someone who works from home. We're looking for an foster or adopter in the Southern California area. Please complete our adoption application found on dexterfoundation.com If you cannot foster or adopt, can you share their story? We need a foster home asap!

Treatment completed. *Rescue Story Wooyeon was found wandering the streets by two sisters, who brought her to a veterinary clinic. At the hospital, she was diagnosed with Babesia and heartworm. She was later transferred to a nearby private shelter, where she received full treatment and recovery support. Since then, she has been living at the shelter and is now healthy and ready to find her forever home. - Compatibility With Cats: She has briefly encountered cats at the veterinary hospital and showed no strong reaction. She was not particularly interested. With Other Dogs: She gets along very well with all other dogs and can be adopted into a multi-dog household. With Adults and Children: Very friendly and affectionate with both adults and children. Personality & Behavior Leash Manners: Very good on walks. Food Allergies / Diet: No known food allergies. She has mild tear staining, so allergies are suspected but have not been tested. She is not a picky eater. House Training: Prefers outdoor elimination. Separation Anxiety: None observed. Barking: No excessive barking. She may bark when excited or greeting people. Likes & Dislikes: She deeply loves people and craves human affection. Three Words to Describe Her Affectionate. Energetic. Cheerful. ----------- 💙 Adoption Fee Information The adoption fee already includes all major expenses, such as: International transportation, Customs and export documentation, Medical care (spay surgery, vaccinations, health certificate, deworming, etc.) For this reason, we kindly ask that you refrain from requesting a breakdown or negotiation of the adoption fee. Your support directly helps us continue rescuing and caring for dogs in need, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding.

Story
Sir-Wags-A-Lot’s story starts with quiet neglect. A woman went to pick him up after her boss said he was “tired of his dogs.” When she arrived, Sir-Wags-A-Lot was tied up with no food or water. There was another, much larger dog there as well, extremely unsocialized, and when that dog panicked and tore up her car, it was taken to the shelter. Sir-Wags-A-Lot was the lucky one who got a second chance. When he first arrived, Sir-Wags-A-Lot was in rough shape. His hair was badly matted and overgrown, and it was clear he hadn’t known much comfort. After a good grooming and lots of extra love, he looks like a completely different dog and, more importantly, feels so much better too. Sir-Wags-A-Lot is a 2-year-old Havapoo weighing about 24 pounds. Despite his past, he is incredibly sweet, gentle, and happy. He’s enthusiastic, easygoing, and absolutely loves attention. He gets along well with other dogs, is good with kids, and has a joyful, affectionate personality that shines once he feels safe. He is also a bit of a jumper when he’s excited, which just adds to his charm. Now safe and loved, Sir-Wags-A-Lot is ready for a forever home where he will finally be cherished, included, and adored the way he always deserved. ----- Looking to Adopt? Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET THIS FABULOUS DUO…..and you will fall in love. (respectively) Caitlyn and Cameron are 18/22 lbs, both 2 yrs old, tan/black Lhasa/Shih Tzu and Lhasa X — likely litter mates. When we get dogs like these two, it reminds me why I fell in love with the breed. Not only are they gorgeous, but they are so smart and have so much personality! We were called and told that a Good Samaritan found them huddled in an alley together and was taking them to the Orange County Shelter to locate their owners. Yes, they were a mess. No they didn’t walk on a leash until they came to us, but they are so loving and happy, we are thrilled that they are here. It was difficult getting individual pictures of them because they are always together, on top of each other and/or playing. They even do their business in unison!! They love to cuddle with each other and you — they give lots of kisses and just reek of puppy love! Initially, they were very fearful and reluctant to meet anyone, but not an ounce of aggression. It takes a minute for them to warm up, but it is so understandable. They have only been here a short time and they are already overwhelming their foster with affection and love. As every day passes, they get more and more rambunctious. Definitely need an active family to love these two to life. The ideal home for Caitlyn and Cameron would be one where there are kids over 8 yrs, a yard and dog parents who are able to spend time and train them. They seem to be potty trained, but no guarantees at your house. They have been extremely quiet, but they just recently arrived. They are learning what toys are…all the writer of their profile can say is they are VERY SPECIAL and will only go home together, so please don’t ask us to split them up. Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and ID If you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET NEW KID ON THE BLOCK….GUMBO!! We named him Gumbo because he’s a very eclectic breed combo, maybe Lhasa or Tibetan Terrier and Pomeranian? He doesn’t shed 😉 He’s only a year old, tri colored with a black mask and 20 lbs. Maybe Tibetan Terrier X? We don’t know, but it doesn’t matter to us. HE IS A SWEETHEART! 100% puppy! He hails from the streets of Compton, where he was rescued before getting hit by a car! Gumbo is an active guy, as any one year old puppy is….but he does settle down and loves to cuddle. On walks, he wants to meet everyone and socialize! After he was neutered and dewclaws were removed, we took him to doggie day care to play with the other pups — and he is having a ball! Reports are he’s getting along with everyone, great eater and just needs to learn some manners! He does love to please and listens!! He was getting the hang of potty training but will need a refresher course after being at daycare! The one thing we have learned about Gumbo is he does not like being alone or separated from the action. He needs a family (kids over 8 would be good, younger he might knock them over!) that will take time to train him and love him to life!! He’s a big kisser and just a very happy go lucky dog. Still learning about toys and what to do with them. He’s a diamond in the rough…scrumptious and a delight. Are you looking for a mascot for your home? He’s waiting. Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. Story
PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION MEET BRONCO…. This handsome, 15 lb, tricolored, 3 year old Lhasa/Shih Tzu/Poodle is a wonderful combination of sweetness and opinions! We are working with 4 Paws Kiddo Rescue to make sure he gets the ideal home. Bronco was dumped in the shelter after a bite incident in his former home. We don’t know how this happened, but we know that he doesn’t like being heavy handled. Since this incident, we have opted to take Bronco to training to desensitize any negative behavior. He was evaluated and has fear aggression with strangers. Once he respects you, he is a wonderful dog. As you can tell by the video, Bronco can be a very loving, happy dog. He just needs to respect you as his leader. He should go to a home without kids and a savvy/experienced family who have dealt with “opinionated” dogs. I can say that he is a wonderful dog and very loving and obedient once he knows the rules! Bronco needs a home that will give him parameters and love him to life. With guidance (and he comes with a trainer) he will be that dog you are looking for. Plays like a maniac with toys and even fetches … follows you everywhere and will prove you’re a good cook! He eats like it’s the first time he’s seen food — blink, it’s gone! Before training, he pulled on the leash and was easily distracted by buses and trucks on the street. He has learned how to be a gentleman on walks!! If you scold him, he will give you side eye for a moment and wait to hear “ok, now good boy” and he’s over it. Bronco sits quietly while you work (or squeaking a toy to remind you he is there)! If you are not at home and you are in an apartment/condo, he will bark voraciously when anyone walks by, but then he is quiet again. He also responds to “leave it” and will be quiet. He does NOT have separation anxiety and gets along great with other dogs once introduced To keep him healthy — Bronco really needs a 2 mile walk daily or exercised to get his playfulness in check! Bronco could be an only dog if his people work from home and he isn’t alone much. His potty training skills are good — but no guarantees. All in all…Bronco is a stallion! We love him and will only let him go to the perfect, experienced home — for him and for you!! Interested? He’s the best. Bronco will not be attending our adoption events; he can be seen by appointment only by approved applicants. Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria.
