Sir-Wags-A-Lot’s story starts with quiet neglect. A woman went to pick him up after her boss said he was “tired of his dogs.” When she arrived, Sir-Wags-A-Lot was tied up with no food or water. There was another, much larger dog there as well, extremely unsocialized, and when that dog panicked and tore up her car, it was taken to the shelter. Sir-Wags-A-Lot was the lucky one who got a second chance. When he first arrived, Sir-Wags-A-Lot was in rough shape. His hair was badly matted and overgrown, and it was clear he hadn’t known much comfort. After a good grooming and lots of extra love, he looks like a completely different dog and, more importantly, feels so much better too. Sir-Wags-A-Lot is a 2-year-old Havapoo weighing about 24 pounds. Despite his past, he is incredibly sweet, gentle, and happy. He’s enthusiastic, easygoing, and absolutely loves attention. He gets along well with other dogs, is good with kids, and has a joyful, affectionate personality that shines once he feels safe. He is also a bit of a jumper when he’s excited, which just adds to his charm. My brother and I were surrendered by our Previous Owners family. Unfortunately, they got deported and their family didn’t want to take care of us. I’ve spent most of my life outside, but I am potty trained since coming to the rescue. I’ve made a lot of new friends and I’m very social and very sweet. My rescuer thought it would be nice to hire someone who didn’t have much experience to give me a haircut so I’m looking a little funny right now, but when my hair grows back, I promise I’ll look like my original picture. She decided not to allow that person to shave my brother, but I am more social and outgoing and playful, and I would be great as an only dog or a companion for another dog. I’m pretty laid-back. I don’t have any bad habits, but I really love people I would fit almost any family dynamic whether you live in an apartment or a big house I would do great. I do understand most commands in Spanish, but I’m learning to understand English. Rose is a sweet 9 yr old Havanese Shih Tzu mix. Her previous family used this pretty girl to make puppies for extra cash. When her owner died, she eventually ended up living in a mechanic shop! When we found out about their situation, we immediately sent a volunteer to go and rescue them. Rose is with Rufus, who is possibly her son. Both dogs are very sweet, well behaved and affectionate. Both Rose and Rufus are friendly, and get along well with new people, other dogs and children. Rufus is about 3 yrs old, very sweet, loving and mellow. He gets along well with other dogs, cats and kids. We had him examined by our vet, neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Rose is loving senior, about 9 yrs old, and is possibly Rufus' mother. Rose is a Havanese/ Shih Tzu mix. She is healthy, and we have had her spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Rose gets along well with other dogs and children, but is very interested in cats, so should go to a home that is cat free. Rose has some previously untreated skin issues, but is otherwise healthy. Both dogs are small, well behaved and extremely loving. They are easy going and don't have any destructive habits like digging, barking or chewing. They are content to just be around someone. They grew up as part of a family and will easily fit into any home. They are low energy and would be perfect for a retired person or someone who works from home. We're looking for an foster or adopter in the Southern California area. Treatment completed. *Rescue Story Wooyeon was found wandering the streets by two sisters, who brought her to a veterinary clinic. At the hospital, she was diagnosed with Babesia and heartworm. Unfortunately, due to the high cost of treatment, the original sisters left her at the hospital and could not continue her care. She was later transferred to a nearby private shelter, where she received full treatment and recovery support. Since then, she has been living at the shelter and is now healthy and ready to find her forever home. - Compatibility With Cats: She has briefly encountered cats at the veterinary hospital and showed no strong reaction. She was not particularly interested. With Other Dogs: She gets along very well with all other dogs and can be adopted into a multi-dog household.
