Story
Meet Luna!
Luna is a six year old, 12 pound purebred Havanese who lived her whole life as a puppy mill mom. This quiet little girl is finally free from the forced breeding and is deeply deserving of a peaceful loving home of her own.
Luna’s strengths are her gentle nature, her sweetness and her resilience. She has not let her past affect her loving personality. She is shy about loud noises and fast moving, but approaching her slowly and letting her sniff will make her your friend. Luna really wants to be loved. In foster care for only one week, she has already come so far: approaching for pets, wagging her tail, being held for hours.Luna has the softest, most luxurious fur so holding her and petting her makes both her and the lucky person happy.
Her favorite things include chicken, salami and cheese, and who could blame her?
She is still unsure about walking in the city and loud noises, but loves going to the park once she gets there to smell all the good smells. In terms of house training, Luna used pee pads during the blizzard, but she is pretty consistent with a set walk schedule (and no whiteout!)
If you’re looking for a gentle, sweet and loving lapdog who is happy just to be with you, Luna is your girl.
Luna is currently being fostered in Doylestown PA. Her adoption fee is $600.
Luna is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.
"To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
