Story
Meet Kenai! He's a bit shy at first, preferring to observe from a distance before warming up. But once he does, you'll discover a smart, independent companion. He is a total rockstar in playgroups. He does amazing riding in the car, making him the perfect doggy copilot. While a fast learner, Kenai may benefit from some additional support as he settles into a new home-- he can get a bit overwhelmed by new places! He chooses his friends carefully and can take a little time to warm up to new folks in the home (chicken is always helpful!). He would flourish in a home with patient adults ready to move at his pace and boost his confidence. Despite his shyness, Kenai is a loyal friend who's sure to add a special rhythm to your life. Ask about meeting Kenai today! Volunteers say "Kenai has the cutest excited tippy-tappy toes ever!!!"

Story
Torben is a stunning 5-year-old red and white Husky with striking blue eyes and a heart just as bright. He’s the full Husky package—playful, talkative, and always ready for an adventure! This handsome explorer is happiest when he’s outside—running, exploring, or simply feeling the wind ruffle through his fur. He’s great with other dogs and has a friendly, easygoing spirit, even when playtime gets a bit wild. Torben is housetrained and will let you know with an adorable awooo when it’s time to go out. Torben prefers not to be crated, as he experiences confinement stress, but he does beautifully free-roaming the home. In his foster home, he’s proven to be a perfect gentleman—no destructive behavior, just lots of love and personality. True to his Husky nature, Torben is full of energy and curiosity. He’s eager to learn and will thrive with consistency, especially as he continues practicing his leash manners. He is a little pushy with the kitties in his foster home and would probably do best in a cat-free home. If you’re searching for an affectionate, spirited companion who loves the great outdoors and fills every day with laughter and song, Torben might just be your perfect match.

Hi! I`m Suzie and I am a happy and active lady who is looking for a home without young children. I am house trained, crate trained, good in the car and enjoy going on walks. My family says I am playful, loving and fun. I will need a home where I can be the only dog because I don`t like to share my things with my friends, I can also be rambunctious but I have a good history meeting other dogs while out on adventures. Come and meet me!

Story
Hi, I'm Toby. I am the sweetest 12 year old pup, but you would have never guessed that's my age! I love to play and am a bit mischievous too. I'm a 70lb husky/pitty mix. How could you say no to my adorable powder sugar face? My fosters adore me and have only good things to say. They tell me that I'm such a good boy because I am good with dogs, kids, cats, housetrained, good on leash, good in the car, and super goofy. I like to spend my days exploring and howling, but I like my naps most of all. You will find me laying upper half on the couch and other half standing like a goofball or with only half my head out the dog door blocking the way for everyone else. I'm a big fan of attention and love my butt scratches! I am always happy to play or go for a walk. I would be the perfect addition to most any home and deserve a second chance. Reach out to learn more!

Story
IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THIS DOG: Rosie is shy and fearful around humans and is bonded to Sammy. She requires patience, love, and guidance to help continue to show her how to properly dog and that the world is not as scary as it seems. Rosie is a very shy girl and is still feeling a little scared of humans. She does like to be pet and having her neck scratched. Her personality shows when she gets outside and argues with the squirrels but it takes a little while for her to get used to coming inside the house. Rosie has seen a lot in her life and has some trust issues with humans. She has never shown any aggression and will melt when she gets brushed or pet. Like her siblings, she will take some time adjusting to a new home and may never totally come out of her shell. She would be good in a home with a fenced yard or warm outside space and no cats. Rosie came into rescue with her two friends, who are also female chow mixes. All three were very scared of humans and refused to even be touched. Again, there was no aggression - but they would run away in fear if humans tried to approach. They have been fostered with our director's family for last couple of years while they have gone through a very slow introduction to the good side of humans. While they are now ready to find their forever homes, they do need adopters who are willing to take the time to win their trust and won't expect them to be going for walks around the neighborhood anytime soon. These girls can only go to homes with fully fenced backyards and very patient humans. These girls will not be attending our adoption events and will require meet and greets at the foster's home. ADOPTION FEE: $75 We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Please note that we are only able to finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better as it takes time to review and approve applications. We host adoption events almost every Saturday from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Petco in Fort Collins (2211 S College Ave. STE 200, Fort Collins, CO 80525)! Check our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend! All Aboard Animal Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in other states. These pups are brought to Colorado, where they are required to be spayed or neutered - breaking the cycle of unwanted litters of puppies who end up as strays! Please consider supporting us in this mission by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THIS DOG: Sammy is shy and fearful around humans and is bonded to Rosie. She requires patience, love, and guidance to help continue to show her how to properly dog and that the world is not as scary as it seems. Sammy is so sweet! She had a rough beginning and has come a very long way learning how to be a dog and trusting humans. She went from cowering in corners and kennels to spinning excitedly when we greet her in the morning. Sammy has never showed any aggression to humans and just melts when getting brushed. She is full of curiosity and loves exploring and chasing the squirrels. Sammy will take some time and patience from a special human to get used to her surroundings and will need a fenced yard as she is not very comfortable on a leash. She will do best in a home by herself and no cats. Sammy came into rescue with her two friends, who are also female chow mixes. All three were very scared of humans and refused to even be touched. Again, there was no aggression - but they would run away in fear if humans tried to approach.
