Story
Chibi is a big, fluffy boy looking for a calm and patient home. He loves other dogs and would do best in a home where he has dog friends to play with. He is quiet and independent, and enjoys basking in the sun and playing with toys. He is a little shy of men, and can be shy meeting new people in general. He does not like to ride in the car, and we're not sure if this will get better with experience or if he would just prefer a home where he doesn't need to travel too much. Chibi is about 55 lb, and has a thick double coat which will need to be groomed about twice a year. He loves his time at the groomer and does very well there. He is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.

Story
Hello! I’m Scout! I’m a bright, playful puppy looking for my forever home! I’m full of energy and love to play with toys, explore, and have fun, but I can also be a little mischievous when left alone, I’ve been known to get into trash or chew on things I shouldn’t. I may do best as the only dog in the home since I can be protective of my food and space around other dogs. I have a history of being playful with kids and enjoy attention, but I can bark or growl at strangers, especially from the yard, so I need a home where my people understand my alert and reactive nature. I’m smart, curious, and full of energy, and I’m ready to find a family who can give me lots of exercise, structure, and love. I can’t wait to meet you and show you my fun-loving personality!

Story
*I am in a foster home but available for Meet&Greets at the EAC in Westminster!* Meet Kenai! He's a bit shy at first, preferring to observe from a distance before warming up. But once he does, you'll discover a smart, independent companion. He is a total rockstar in playgroups. He does amazing riding in the car, making him the perfect doggy copilot. While a fast learner, Kenai may benefit from some additional support as he settles into a new home-- he can get a bit overwhelmed by new places! He chooses his friends carefully and can take a little time to warm up to new folks in the home (chicken is always helpful!). He would flourish in a home with patient adults ready to move at his pace and boost his confidence. Despite his shyness, Kenai is a loyal friend who's sure to add a special rhythm to your life. Ask about meeting Kenai today! Volunteers say "Kenai has the cutest excited tippy-tappy toes ever!!!"

Story
Missy is a wonderful addition to the family, she is overly loving. Doesnt ask for pets or love. She demands it. She is super smart. Will open sliding doors and jumps over certain fences. She has no harm in her body. She loves everybody, dogs, cats, kids. We are moving out of state and cant take her with us as the renter doesnt allow pets. Rehoming fee is arguable. We just want her to go to a loving home

Video 1 (copy and paste into a new browser window) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLS7qQ0Yj1I Video 2 (copy and paste into a new browser window) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8F91z-04nVI Badger is a husky mix who was listed at the shelter as 8 years old. When he first arrived, I thought he was much older and that he would be a hospice case. He was stiff and frozen in fear and skinny. He would barely move. I put him in a kennel with younger dogs and he soon found his youthful spirit again and is like a different dog now. I don't know his age for sure but he has lots of life and happiness left in him and I think he is younger than 8. He weighs about 60 lbs now. He learned how to climb out of the 6 ft chain link kennel but he doesn't stray far from it except to follow me on walks. He goes down the pond to take a dip but mostly just hangs out by the kennel. So while he has the skills of a husky to escape, he doesn't have the urge of a husky to run off and go explore. I don't even put him up when I leave because he doesn't go anywhere. He is great with other dogs but sometimes doesn't know how big he is so he wouldn't be good around scared little dogs. Not because he would hurt them, but because they might get scared of him. He is fine with my chihuahuas but they are very bossy and not scared of anything. For that reason, I also don't think he should be around cats. To be clear, he is not aggressive at all, he just tries to play with everything and with his size that just wouldn't work with a dog or cats that's scared of him. He is very food motivated and walks well on the leash as well. He is an awesome boy and I am glad he didn't die at the kill shelter. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Adoption fee: $550 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95
