Story
Maverick is the sweetest boy ever! Loves to cuddle and kiss everyone! He’s high energy and does bark but never mean or bites he loves little kiddos! I picked him up on side of road while visiting my sister in Texas with a liter of 3 of his brother and sisters. He got along with my one big dog who passed but not my sons ESA dog and unfortunately my kiddo is first. He’s such a kind beautiful boy and it’s heartbreaking and I need someone who will love and care for him like we do.

Story
Missy is a wonderful addition to the family, she is overly loving. Doesnt ask for pets or love. She demands it. She is super smart. Will open sliding doors and jumps over certain fences. She has no harm in her body. She loves everybody, dogs, cats, kids. We are moving out of state and cant take her with us as the renter doesnt allow pets. Rehoming fee is arguable. We just want her to go to a loving home

When he first arrived, I thought he was much older and that he would be a hospice case. He was stiff and frozen in fear and skinny. He would barely move. I put him in a kennel with younger dogs and he soon found his youthful spirit again and is like a different dog now. I don't know his age for sure but he has lots of life and happiness left in him and I think he is younger than 8. He weighs about 60 lbs now. He learned how to climb out of the 6 ft chain link kennel but he doesn't stray far from it except to follow me on walks. He goes down the pond to take a dip but mostly just hangs out by the kennel. So while he has the skills of a husky to escape, he doesn't have the urge of a husky to run off and go explore. I don't even put him up when I leave because he doesn't go anywhere. He is great with other dogs but sometimes doesn't know how big he is so he wouldn't be good around scared little dogs. Not because he would hurt them, but because they might get scared of him. He is fine with my chihuahuas but they are very bossy and not scared of anything. For that reason, I also don't think he should be around cats. To be clear, he is not aggressive at all, he just tries to play with everything and with his size that just wouldn't work with a dog or cats that's scared of him. He is very food motivated and walks well on the leash as well. He is an awesome boy and I am glad he didn't die at the kill shelter. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Story
Meet Telly Hardwire, an active, playful, and intelligent husky mix who is ready for his forever home! Telly did excellent at his first adoption event. He was eager to say hi to kids and adults of all ages. His favorite part of the event was getting to taste all sort of tasty treats. He also got a chance to try out walking on a leash and thought it was a mixture of fun and a little weird. When he grows up, we could see him becoming an ultimate adventure dog! His ideal family would be someone who is active and will involve him in their activities. This pup is also super smart and food motivated, which will make training a breeze! He would benefit from walks, hikes, runs, and enrichment activities. Telly Hardwire is currently at the shelter. Stop by to meet him!

Story
Trey is a 3-year-old adult male pup who looks like a Husky–Shepherd mix, and he’s so handsome! This gorgeous young lad is friendly, gentle, and a little shy in the sweetest way. He gets along well with other dogs and has an easy, well-mannered vibe that makes him a joy to be around. On our walk, Trey loved taking his time sniffing around the park and happily accepting treats (he’s definitely food-motivated, which is always helpful for training!). Although he is a big boy, he walked great on leash and we had an enjoyable time out with him! With his sweet personality, striking look and magnetic presence, Trey is the kind of dog who’s likely to get scooped up fast!
