Story
Hi, I’m Apollo! I’m 5 years old and full of fun and energy! I might be on the smaller side, but I’ve still got a little growing to do. I absolutely love running and playing, just like most Huskies, so I’d really love a backyard to call my own—preferably fenced, so I don’t get too distracted and wander off on an adventure! I adore all dogs and humans, but with all this energy, I might be a bit much for the little ones. Sometimes I get so excited that I might accidentally bump into them or play a bit too rough. But don’t worry, I’m eager to learn and improve if someone just gives me a chance. I already know how to sit, catch, and almost stay, and I’m always ready to learn more, especially if there are treats involved! I’m a super quick learner and love to please. I have not been tested with cats. Oh, and guess what? I once jumped into a pool and was surprised at how cool it was—I can swim! I’d love to be your shadow, helping out in the kitchen or just hanging out. Having a friend to play with would be amazing too. Could that be you? I promise I’m a very good boy!

Story
Hi there, I’m Sasuke—a 7-year-old copper and white Husky with the bluest baby blue eyes you’ve ever seen. Some say my eyes are like little windows to my heart…and I like to think they’re right. I’ve been told I’m a gentle giant. Even though I’m a big boy, my nature is soft and sweet. I get along great with other dogs, and I especially love kids. There’s something about their laughter and energy that draws me in. I love to play with them—chasing balls, bouncing around doing my happy little bow—but I also know when to settle down and listen. I take “no” pretty well! I’m housebroken, and while I’ve never been crate trained, I really haven’t needed it. I’m respectful of the house, the toys, and everything in it. You can leave me out and trust that I’ll be on my best behavior. When it comes to walks, I get a little excited at first (what can I say, new smells!) and might pull a bit, but with just a few reminders, I settle into a nice pace. A little consistency and I’ll have those leash manners polished in no time. I have this funny little way of letting you know I’m in the mood to play—I’ll bounce at your feet and do a playful bow. You won’t be able to resist! But I’m not all go-go-go. I also have a calming presence, especially when someone’s feeling sad or stressed. I just seem to know, and I’ll quietly sit by your side, letting my soulful eyes do all the comforting. I’m the perfect balance of mellow and playful. Whether you’re looking for a hiking buddy, a co-pilot for your car rides (I’m an excellent passenger, by the way), or someone to curl up next to you at the end of the day—I’m your guy. I may not come with fancy tricks, but I come with heart, loyalty, and love. And that, I think, is what makes me pretty special. So… what do you say? Want to be my forever person?

Story
Hi, I’m Stella Luna—a 9-year-old black and white Husky with soft brown eyes and a heart that’s still learning how to feel safe again. I was rescued from a shelter where I felt so lost and sad. I still carry some of that sadness with me, especially around men—I’m very wary of them. I’d do best in a calm, quiet home with a kind, patient woman who understands that healing takes time. I do really love other Huskies, though. If there’s another dog in the home, that would make me feel so much more secure—I take comfort in their presence and often follow their lead. Even with all my fears, I’ve never growled, snapped, or shown any signs of aggression. I just want to be good. I remember a time when I was, and I try so hard to be that girl again. I know how to sit, and I love playing fetch in the yard. I’ll gently nudge you for pets and lean into you, but I prefer scritches on my back or shoulders instead of my head—I hope that’s okay. Walks are one of my favorite things. I don’t pull much and I understand what “come on” and “leave it” mean. I’ll stay by your side—unless something really interesting catches my nose! I’m strong, so sometimes I need a little patience when I’m stuck on a scent. When the walk ends, I sometimes hesitate to go back inside—especially if a man goes in first. It’s just one of those things I’m still working through. I love my crate and I’m fully housebroken. I’m still unsure about getting up on furniture—I want to so badly, but something deep inside makes me feel like I’m not allowed. With time, I think I could learn that comfort and love are meant for me, too. All I truly want is someone to help me believe I’m a good girl again. Someone who will love me just as I am, ghosts and all, and help me feel safe and whole. If you have a quiet home and an open heart, I’ll be the most loyal, gentle companion you could ever ask for.

Story
Hi! I’m Balto, a 2-year-old Husky mix with a big heart and a small frame—I’m only about 33 pounds, but don’t let my size fool you… I’ve got enough love and playful energy to light up a whole house! My story’s a bit of a tough one. My previous owner lost his job and home, and even though it broke his heart, he had to let me go. Thankfully, a kind family took me in to foster me and help me find my forever home. They say I’m the sweetest guy—and honestly, I just want to make people smile. I greet everyone with kisses and tail wags, because I’m just that excited to see you! I’m housebroken (score!) and starting to get the hang of this crate thing. I’m not destructive either, even with all this puppy energy buzzing inside me. I’m great with other dogs, big and small, and while I haven’t quite figured out cats (I do love to chase them), I mean no harm—just curiosity! I’ve also spent time with kids and do really well, though I might be a little too bouncy for tiny tots right now. I’m still learning how to match my energy to my friends, but I listen and I learn—especially if treats are involved! I already know sit and down, and I’m eager to show off more once I’m with someone who believes in me. I’m neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all my vaccines, so I’m all set to go! All I need now is a family who’s ready for love, laughter, and a sidekick who will keep them smiling through every adventure. A yard to run in or a playful dog sibling would be the cherry on top—but mostly, I just want someone to love me forever. Could that be you?

Story
Hi, I’m Ava – an 8-year-old Siberian Husky with a heart full of love and a soul shaped by years of loyal companionship. I’m housebroken, crate-trained, great on leash, and happiest when I’m snoozing on the couch or sunbathing in a quiet spot. I don’t bark, but I do talk – I’ll tell you when I want something with my signature husky woo! I love relaxing walks, peaceful car rides, and just being near my humans – especially if I can lay on your feet while you cook. I’m a calm, low-maintenance girl who prefers a chill environment. I’ve lived with other dogs before and do fine with polite pups who give me space. I don’t love energetic dogs in my face right away, but I warm up after a couple days and am happy to coexist or even hang out near them. I’m more of an observer than a player, and I appreciate a respectful doggy companion or being the one-and-only queen of the house. I’m not a fan of small children, but I truly adore my grown-up people – especially men! I’m affectionate, well-behaved, and would love a peaceful home where I can keep someone company and be their shadow. My favorite thing in the world? My orange treat ball and a few Honey Nut Cheerios. 💛 I’ve spent eight beautiful years with my family, and now I’m ready to be someone else's best friend. Could that someone be you?

Story
Kristoff is being fostered in Ocala FL. Kristoff's foster home would like you to know: That Kristoff is the embodiment of Happiness! This little man is filled with joy in everything he does. His tail waggle is ever present and he does a happy dance regularly. He truly is a joy and just wants to be where you are. Kristoff does shed. He has a shed similar to a husky or Shepard, where he has seasonal times where he blows his coat. Meet Kristoff (aka Kris, Little Man)! This precious pup is a chow mix, approximately 9 years old. But don’t let his age or blindness (he is blind due to cataracts) fool you, he is a spry, happy go lucky guy who can sure pour on the puppy dog eyes! When he wakes up he will do a happy dance to start the day (whether it is because he is so happy to greet his people or because it is time for breakfast is up for debate) and his joyfulness continues throughout the day (he is equally enthusiastic about bedtime!). Although his happiness abounds, he is mostly an easy going fellow and is content to enjoy the simple pleasures: his meals, leisurely strolls through the yard, chewing a bone, enjoying a cookie and most importantly, being near his people as much as possible. He is a low maintenance boy, doesn’t require a lot of walking and would thrive most in a laid back environment with someone patient, who doesn’t mind talking a lot (your voice will help guide him) and who can give him helpful hints to help him on his way (like “bump” warnings, etc). Kris can become a bit jumpy when scared or unsure, but trusting his people fixes that. The world can be a scary place when you can’t see, but most of the time he takes it in stride. He moves slowly to find his way and needs to build trust so he can feel safe. Luckily he is very smart and a fast learner (he learned how to find and use his foster’s doggy door within a day & lets himself in and out, and quickly learned “sit” and now enthusiastically sits on his own to wait for his meals). He doesn’t always love getting leashed, but he does follow along (happily, once he trusts the person on the other end) and he is definitely not a fan of car rides. Kris gets a little protective over food & treats and will give a warning grumble but he is otherwise ok with other dogs, he just isn’t too interested in them. Unsure about cats or kids. But we all have our things, right? This well behaved boy is content to sit in his room or crate, patiently waiting, and loves a routine that allows for lots of rests and doggy massages on request. The yard is his happy place. And above all else, this fellow is a pure joy to be around. If you have the time and patience to help this little man navigate the world, you will soon realize that you are very blessed to have this bundle of love by your side! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
