Story

Spencer! This pup would have quite the story to tell if he could talk. Surrendered to us from a neglectful situation, we had no idea what exactly was wrong with his health but we knew he needed help. At 4 years old, despite his past, Spencer is a loving and affectionate dog. He loves all people and animals. Great on a leash. Wonderful in public settings. Spencer does have to navigate through some health challenges due to past neglect. We continue to have issues with his kidney levels- he needs to be on a low phosphorus diet. Because of this he hasn't been able to be neutered. He also has trouble holding his bladder and bowel movements, and he does have accidents inside occasionally. A yard would be ideal for Spencer. He was previously living in a crate in his own messes, so he is not able to be crated while you are gone. We have seen a couple specialists, tested for so many things, and so far, there are little answers. We don't know what Spencer's future looks like. What we do know is he deserves a chance at finding a forever loving home. Spencer is eligible for our Forever Foster Program. As a forever foster, Spencer would be your pet. You cover all his day to day needs. Preapproved medical needs will be continued to be covered by rescue for the remainder of his life at our vet partners. Hi, I’m Sky Blue! I am a 10-year-old Siberian Husky Yes, I know… the blue eyes are pretty impressive. But I promise, my personality is even better. I’m a sweet, loyal, easygoing guy who loves being close to my people. I’ll happily follow you around the house, lean against you for affection, and settle at your feet just to make sure you’re never too far away. I do great with other dogs and currently have a foster sister. We’re buddies, but we also understand the importance of personal space. Very mature of us. I’m housebroken, crate trained, trustworthy in the house, and always ready for a car ride. I also love spending time outside in a fenced yard, especially if there are deer around for me to supervise. I can be a little picky about food and a little opinionated when I want something. What can I say? I’m a Husky. At 10 years young, I’m not looking for anything complicated. I just want a comfy bed, a safe home, someone to follow around, and a person who won’t mind having a handsome shadow by their side. Hi, I’m Journey They say every dog has a story—and mine almost ended too soon. I was in a crowded shelter with very little time left, not because I did anything wrong, but simply because there wasn’t enough space. Then someone saw me—really saw me—and gave me the second chance I didn’t know I’d get. Now I’m safe, loved, and ready to find a forever home where I can truly belong. I’m about 2.5 years old, with striking blue eyes that people always stop to admire. I’m crate trained and housebroken, though if I’m moving into a new place, I might need a few extra breaks at first—new routines and spaces can take a little getting used to. I walk beautifully on a leash, and when I feel unsure or nervous, I’m great at listening and taking gentle redirection. When I meet other dogs on leash, I do really well. Inside the home, though, I can get a bit protective of my space, so I’d probably do best as your one and only, or maybe with a very calm and kind dog who helps me feel at ease. I just want to feel safe. My foster says I’m incredibly attentive and loving. I notice everything and love to stay close. I respond best to soft, gentle voices, and I really try hard to please. I’ve got a silly side too—they say I remind them of Scooby-Doo, and honestly, I kind of agree. When I want to connect, I’ll gently place my paw on your arm, like I’m saying, “I’m here, and I’ve got you.” It’s my little way of showing love. I’m okay with kids, especially if they’re quiet and kind. Sudden noises or loud voices can still scare me, and I’m working on being brave around things like passing cars. Sometimes I’ll jump up when I’m excited or nervous, so if that’s not your thing, I understand—just know I’m learning and trying my best every day. I’ve come so far already, and I’m proud of how hard I’m working. My foster is proud of me too. I just want a calm, patient home where I can keep growing and discovering how safe and beautiful life can be. And when I get a little scared? Well... sometimes I jump into your arms like Scooby-Doo. I’ve got a big heart that’s learning to be brave—one paw at a time.

Hi, I’m Karmy, an 8-year-old red and white beauty with the cutest floppy ear you’ve ever seen! Life didn’t start out easy for me, but wow, things are looking up. I’m learning all about being a “house dog,” and let me tell you, couches are amazing (especially for my silly couch zoomies). I’m making great progress with potty training (I’ve got my schedule down!) and crates aren’t so scary anymore—I even eat my meals in mine like a pro. I’ll admit, I’m still working on longer stays, but I’m very food motivated, so training feels like snack time to me. On walks, I’m a total dream—unless, of course, I catch the scent of a critter, then I get a little excited. My vision isn’t the best, so sometimes I bump into things or need a little guidance, but a kind voice and gentle hand help me shine. Personality-wise? My name is Kayo, and I'm a 9-year-old black and white Siberian Husky with the warmest brown eyes, a smile that could melt just about anyone's heart, and enough charm to convince you that frozen green beans are actually a gourmet dessert. Let's address the fluffy elephant in the room... yes, I'm currently rocking the "extra cuddly" edition of a Husky at about 99 pounds. My previous owner loved me a little too much at mealtime (I was getting six cups of food a day!), but my foster mom has me on a healthy plan now, and I'm already making great progress. What I really need is a family who loves taking walks and will help me continue my journey to my ideal weight. Think of me as your built-in walking buddy... except I won't complain if you want to stop and admire the squirrels. I'm completely housebroken and crate trained. In fact, I think my crate is pretty much my own private bedroom. I happily eat there, nap there, and consider it my personal five-star resort. I'm a laid-back guy who gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Drama? Not interested. Chaos? I'll pass. I'd much rather hang out with my furry friends, chew on a Nylabone, and flash my signature Husky grin at everyone I meet. Cats? Hi! I’m Maxi, a beautiful 6.5-year-old white Husky with a gentle heart, a curious nature, and a few adorable quirks that make me pretty special. If you’re expecting the typical loud, high-energy Husky…well, I might surprise you! I’m a remarkably quiet, calm girl who is perfectly happy lounging on a dog bed or pillow and keeping you company. I have a particular fondness for cozy little spots—under a desk or even tucked into a closet. What can I say? I appreciate a good hideaway! I absolutely love belly rubs, and I’m happiest when you talk to me and remind me what a pretty girl I am. Compliments are always welcome around here. I’m also a dream on a leash. I don’t pull, I enjoy a nice leisurely stroll, and I especially appreciate humans who understand the importance of stopping occasionally so I can have a good roll in the grass. There’s no need to rush through the good stuff! I’m a fantastic traveler, too, and handle car rides like a pro. At home, I sleep in my foster parents’ room at night and have been completely non-destructive. They haven’t needed to crate me, so we don’t really know how I feel about crates yet. Now, about food. I have standards. A little kibble with A LOT of Parmesan cheese is much more to my liking. Cheese? Yes, please. Peanut butter? Absolutely. Counter surfing? Nope! My foster family has even tried to tempt me, and I remain a lady. I am still learning to take treats gently from your hand, though, and we’re working on “sit.” I’m great at meeting new people and greet them calmly. I can happily share my home with other dogs, but I’d also be perfectly content being your one and only. There is one little thing my future family should know about me: sometimes when I get really excited—or really relaxed—I can leak a little urine. It’s just one of those things that comes along with loving me, and my foster family can tell you more about managing it. I rarely bark or howl, but I do have one exception. When an ambulance or fire truck goes by with its siren on, I sometimes decide to join in and sing along. Apparently, it’s pretty adorable. I like to think I’m providing backup vocals. Underneath my beautiful white coat is one of the sweetest, gentlest souls you’ll ever meet. I don’t need constant excitement or adventure. Give me a soft place to land, some belly rubs, leisurely walks, kind words, and some special treats, and I’ll be a very happy girl. If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion who will fill your home with quiet love, a little laughter, plenty of snuggles—and the occasional siren serenade—I might be your girl!
