Story
NIKKO IS THE BEST! Please see the Humane Society of Bay County, Inc. website to apply. - Hover "Adopt" and select "Dog" - Scroll to see the section labeled "How to Adopt"  - Click on "Dog Application  Nikko's adoption fee is $300. He is neutered, UTD on ALL prevention including HW prevention, and flea/tick prevention. He is also microchipped.  Nikko came to us as a pup that had contracted Heartworms AND Lyme's disease. We were glad to have caught both so soon. After a very long treatment and healing time, Nikko is FINALLY ready for his forever family. He is HW free and suffers NO complications from having had Lyme's.  Nikko wants to run, play, run some more and play! If you know Husky's then you know what we are talking about. He will need regular exercise and probably some obedience training. Nikko also loves to snuggle. He weighs about 45lbs. While Nikko lives harmoniously with a cat in his foster home, he does have a strong prey drive and we do not recommend a home with birds or small animals. Nikko has met many and loves other dogs and people. He pretty much loves everyone he meets.    December 4, 2025, 12:29 pm

He needs someone that can give him the extra time and run with him and spend time with him. He doesn’t like other animals around him while he eats. He does not like cats at all. He does fine with other dogs if introduced properly and slowly. Needs to be fed away from other animals though. He loved to cuddle and to play. He likes to run and take walks and chew up toys. His favorite treats are chicken feet.
