Story
I'm Prince, a striking tan and white Husky mix with adventure running through my veins! 🐕 At just 10 months old, I'm a high-energy guy who loves to play and chat — I've got plenty of personality and spirit to share. I'm already neutered and ready to join an active household where I can burn off steam and explore the world alongside you! I'm looking for someone who can match my energy and give me the exciting life I crave! 🐾✨ According to his previous owner, Prince lived with six children ranging in age from 4–17 years old and did very well with them. He also lived with a cat and was interested but respectful, though a little intimidated. While he didn't live with other dogs, he enjoyed playing with visiting family dogs. Prince is a young, high-energy and when he's bored, he's not afraid to share his opinion—he loves to sing and talk! Around 10 months old Currently 56 lbs Adoption fee: $225.00 This dog is currently housed at our shelter. If you are interested, please come in at your earliest availability during our open hours, no appointment necessary. We do same-day adoptions, do not hold dogs, and work on a first-come, first-served basis as long as it is an excellent fit for both parties. If you have questions or want to possibly schedule an appointment on one of our closed days, you may email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), distemper/parvo combination vaccine, leptospirosis vaccine (if age-appropriate), bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea preventative, a dental cleaning (if necessary), and a microchip. Future vaccines, tests, and treatments will be the responsibility of the adopter.

Story
Meet Olaf the 11mth puppy! Olaf is a sweet, goofy and playful puppy with the cutest underbite! He has been DNA tested and his results came back as followed- 41% Siberian Husky 29% American Pit Bull Terrier 16% American Staffordshire Terrier 6% American Bulldog 4% Rottweiler He loves meeting new doggy friends and does good with friends of all shapes and sizes, although he does tend to play pretty rough. He does best with other energetic, rowdy and playful friends! Olaf has a very quirky personality. He is the class clown at doggy daycare. He loves jumping like a pogo stick and he often trips over his very long legs that he has yet grown into. If you are looking for a silly and awkward pup- Olaf may be your guy! He does have an old leg injury that sometimes causes an occasional minor limp. He has been seen by a specialist, and it is determined that he does not require any special care or further appointments. His limp was very severe when he was a small puppy, however it has become less and less noticeable as he grows! Olaf is house trained and crate trained. For being half husky, he is a very quiet boy and is not a big barker/howler. He would make a great apartment dog if there were no breed restrictions (and he gets ample exercise)! He can be quite the stubborn boy at times, but he is highly treat motivated. He is still working on not jumping up on people. Olaf is up to date on vaccines, neutered, HW- and microchipped. Does Olaf sound like a good fit for your family? Reach out for an adoption application!

Story
Meet Ronan! SEE STRAYCATION UPDATES BELOW! HOUSE-TRAINED, CRATE-TRAINED & LOVES PUPS AND KIDS! This 2-year-old, 61-pound happy-go-lucky husky mix is a fun as can be! He will bring years of smiles to one lucky family! Before coming to GLDR, Ronan spent some time in a foster home and they just raved about him! They even sent a hand written letter to his future adopters. He hung out with small children and absolutely loved them. Ronan recently had a nice break in a fabulous foster home and we learned even more about this impressive pup. House-trained and crate-trained, Ronan is ready for life in a home. He enjoys the company of other dogs and tends to match the playstyle of the pup he's with. If you're looking for a playful pal for your pup, he's your man! Due his prey drive, a home free of cats and other small animals is a must for Ronan. Not only is he devastatingly handsome, Ronan loves spending time outside and is always ready for action! He will thrive in a home where he can receive additional training, lots of daily exercise, and have a yard to run in (fenced-in or tie out required). Ronan already knows a few commands and is capable so so much more! He will benefit from someone with husky experience who can satisfy his physical and mental stimulation needs. He'll make a great partner in crime! Ronan loves all sorts of toys and treats. He will do well on leash with a capable handler and also rides well in the car. At the end of a fun-filled day, he sleeps quietly through the night. His eager enthusiasm is just something you need to experience for yourself! Based on our evaluation, we feel Ronan would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages five and up. He may have the capacity to live in a home with other dogs and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. Breed experience is preferred. If you think Ronan could be the guy for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for this peppy pup!

Meet Jax, a striking black and tan Husky-Heeler mix who's still growing into his nine-month-old self! 🐕 At 30 pounds of pure energy, I'm a friendly guy who gets along great with other dogs and cats — in fact, I'd absolutely thrive with an animal sibling to play with. I'm a bit on the shy and timid side, so I'll need a patient family who understands I'm still building confidence, but my loyalty and gentle spirit are worth the time. I'm ready to find my forever home where I can grow into the amazing dog I'm meant to be! 💙

Story
🐾 Meet Lawrence! 🖤🤍 Lawrence is a handsome 3-year-old Husky/Pit Bull mix who's ready to find an active family to call his own! At 53 pounds, this adventurous boy is full of personality and always looking for his next adventure. Lawrence has participated in our dog playgroups and has shown us that he prefers calmer, lower-energy dog friends. He's a little selective about who he spends his time with—and that's perfectly okay! Just like people, not every dog has to be everyone's best friend. He's also perfectly content entertaining himself and doing his own thing. This smart, playful guy would love an owner who enjoys staying active and can provide him with enrichment, training, and fun adventures. Lawrence can get a little enthusiastic when taking treats, but that's something we expect will improve with consistency, patience, and the chance to decompress in a loving home. ✅ Neutered 🐾 Playful and intelligent 🐶 Enjoys select, low-energy canine companions 🏡 Ready for his forever home 🎉 During BISSELL Empty the Shelters, Lawrence's adoption fee is just $25 through July 26! Not ready to adopt? Ask us about our foster, sleepover, and foster-to-adopt programs! They are a great way to get to know Lawrence in a home environment while helping him take a break from the shelter. ❤️ No appointment is necessary! Stop by Saginaw County Animal Care & Control during business hours to meet Lawrence. He just might be the adventure buddy you've been looking for!

Story
Meet Hazel 🐾Hazel is a beautiful 6-year-old Husky born on August 9, 2020, and one of the hardest parts of our move is having to find her a new home. Due to relocating for my husband’s job, we unfortunately can’t bring her with us, and we want to make sure she finds a family who will love her as much as we do.Hazel is good with kids (preferably older because she jumps up), great with other pets, and has the classic husky personality everyone loves. She is VERY excitable, full of energy, incredibly vocal about her feelings, and has the funniest, sweetest spirit. If you know huskies, you know they come with big personalities — and Hazel absolutely does. She would thrive with a fun, active family and really needs a home with a yard where she can run around and enjoy life. She loves attention, pets, and being part of the family. She also comes from a very spoiled lifestyle — she’s used to grain-free food, bottled spring water, lots of love, and plenty of toys all of which goes with her.
