Story
Arctic is just stunning and those eyes so full of love. She is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 45 pounds. Arctic is such a cuddle bug, she is just so excited to be with you and touching you! She is all loose and wiggly too, she is a happy girl for sure. You need to be a little careful because she is right under foot, only wanting to be by you. This little sneakster also wants to crawl right up in your lap and is always hoping for a belly rub, her favorite thing. Arctic loves to play fetch with toys, then she brings them back to you with a nice release, and has a solid sit, what a good girl. She does need a little work on jumping up for attention, a basic manners course would be wonderful for her. She can also be a little fearful and looks to you for comfort. Arctic needs an experienced adopter who can provide leadership, which she is looking for and structure. Her new family should also understand the mental and physical needs of the working breeds. She will need an active home with a fenced in yard for her to have room to run and where any children are at least 8 years old. Artic will also need a home with no chickens, turkeys and such. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Arctic would love to meet them. She is a bit apprehensive at first, but with time did warm up with some play and kept checking in with her handler. She would really benefit from some positive dog to dog interactions, she seems insecure with them right now. If you are interested in Arctic and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*

Story
**In a foster home and not at the kennel** This handsome guy is about 6 years old and 70 pounds. Deuce had a DNA test completed. The results are in and he is a Siberian Husky and Boxer mix. We thought for sure some Akita would be in there but what do we know? Deuce is a typical large breed dog- slow moving, calm, and laid back with short playful bursts of energy. He loves people and other dogs. Deuce knows sit, down, high five, shake, wait, stay, off and leave it. He is fully house trained and is currently in foster with an older male and younger female dog. His favorite things to do include time with his people, hikes, car rides and playtime, especially with other dogs. Deuce needs a knowledgeable and active adopter who can keep him challenged and set limits. Deuce initially displayed some food guarding at the kennel. This is not apparent in his foster care. However, his adopter will need to continue working with him so that it does not resurface. He needs an adult only home. Deuce would love a fenced in yard to safely explore. *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*

Story
Pizzaz is absolutely beautiful with his light brindle coloring! He is estimated to be about 11 months old and weighs 40 pounds. Pizzaz is a very attentive pup who loves to just lean into you for love. He is crazy smart and absolutely loves food puzzles and doing anything that requires mind work. With only working with him a short time, he learned sit, touch, down and shake. You can tell he is a thinker, wanting to learn and please you. Pizzaz craves closeness too, he likes to sneak up in your lap any chance he gets, and he takes his treats very gently. We have also noticed he likes to lay in the sun coming through the window, oh how relaxing! Pizzaz does have some observed food bowl guarding though, but he is catching on quickly to “wait at bowl”. His adopter will need to continue to work on this with him. He needs an experienced adopter who knows how to instill leadership and understands the mental needs of the working breeds. Pizzaz would fit perfectly in a home that has lots of love to give and where any children are at least 13 years old. If you think you could give Pizzaz the home he deserves, he would love to meet you and have a forever family. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Pizzaz would love to meet them. He has a tall, confident approach with other dog with nice play bows. He really needs to go to a home where there is another dog, he just seems more content with a playmate. If you are interested in Pizzaz and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. Story
**adoption pending** What a gorgeous soft coat Brownie has! She is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 45 pounds. There's something sweet and special about Brownie - and it's not just her name! Brownie is beautiful girl with a playful, affectionate, and shy personality. Despite her initial shyness, this well-mannered pup is eager to please and will win your heart over with her mellow and loving nature. She really perks up when you bring out the toys, so she is hoping for maybe a little basket of them in her new home. Brownie would really benefit from some confidence building and leadership, it would be wonderful if her new family could help her with this. She will need home where any children are at least 4 years old. Brownie is going to be such a great companion to anyone, she has so much love to give. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Brownie would love to meet them. She has an “all in” play style with other dogs and needs to learn some limits. She really comes out of her shell with other dogs, so another friendly dog in the home may be good for her. If you are interested in Brownie and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch.
