Story
Meet Olaf the 6mth Pit/Husky! Olaf is a sweet, goofy and playful puppy with the cutest underbite! He has been DNA tested and his results came back as followed- 41% Siberian Husky 29% American Pit Bull Terrier 16% American Staffordshire Terrier 6% American Bulldog 4% Rottweiler Olaf can be a little shy when meeting new people but once he is comfortable, he is a complete love bug. He loves meeting new doggy friends and does great with friends of all shapes and sizes, although he does tend to play pretty rough. Olaf has recently been dealing with some inconsistent mobility issues (limping, falling over) and was referred to a neurologist. After evaluations and further testing with his specialist, we have concluded that these mobility issues are due to a past trauma when he was a small puppy. Unfortunately, there is no further treatment that can be done. With this being said, he does not seem to be affected or bothered by this at all and he does not require any special care. Most days, he acts like a normal puppy, and you would not be able to tell he has old trauma. On a “bad” day, he may have an on and off right leg limp and strenuous activity should be avoided. Olaf is still working on potty training and needs a consistent and patient family who is willing to take him out frequently. He has been doing well if he goes out every few hours. He is crate trained and knows his basic commands. For being half husky, he is a very quiet boy and is not a big barker/howler. He would make a great apartment dog if there are no breed restrictions! He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, HW- and microchipped. Olaf would make the perfect addition to almost any household! He is such a sweet boy with a lot of love to give!

Story
Meet Chet! This one-year-old husky mix has the cutest crooked smile around! He's 49 pounds and is one capable pup! Not only is Chet super unique with his imperfect grin and different colored eyes, he is one smart dude! He knows sit, takes his treats well, and enjoys doing food puzzles. We are able to take food/toys away with no issue. He's so much fun to be with! A fellow that enjoys life's simple pleasures, Chet is very tolerant and enjoys a nice full body rub. He'll thrive with continued training, mental stimulation, daily exercise and a yard to enjoy. He enjoys his time with our volunteers and hanging with his kennel mates as well. Based on our evaluation, we feel Chet would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. He may have the ability to live in a home with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think he could be the guy for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our clever Chet!

Story
* In Mid Michigan* 1-1-26 still looking for perfect fit We have a female dog named Frankie that we have been given from my daughters co-worker who became homeless last weekend. Rather then allow her to be let loose to the streets we brought her here with the hopes of finding a rescue or shelter to take her to, but have had no amount of luck with placement. Everyone we contact is full. I already own two dogs myself and am not looking to take on a third. She was fixed and is now up to date on shots, and micro-chipped. Good with other dogs after meeting period is over, seems ok with cats. Is pretty timid at first but with the right love and care will be an excellent dog. **willing to negotiate adoption fee for the right home** *willing to travel a bit* EDIT: seems to be food and bone/toy aggressive at times. But this seems like a vocalization quirk, we are working on her not growling. Will need experienced handler to help train. We are doing our best to help mitigate the triggers.
