Story
Meet Olaf the 11mth puppy! Olaf is a sweet, goofy and playful puppy with the cutest underbite! He has been DNA tested and his results came back as followed- 41% Siberian Husky 29% American Pit Bull Terrier 16% American Staffordshire Terrier 6% American Bulldog 4% Rottweiler He loves meeting new doggy friends and does good with friends of all shapes and sizes, although he does tend to play pretty rough. He does best with other energetic, rowdy and playful friends! Olaf has a very quirky personality. He is the class clown at doggy daycare. He loves jumping like a pogo stick and he often trips over his very long legs that he has yet grown into. If you are looking for a silly and awkward pup- Olaf may be your guy! He does have an old leg injury that sometimes causes an occasional minor limp. He has been seen by a specialist, and it is determined that he does not require any special care or further appointments. His limp was very severe when he was a small puppy, however it has become less and less noticeable as he grows! Olaf is house trained and crate trained. For being half husky, he is a very quiet boy and is not a big barker/howler. He would make a great apartment dog if there were no breed restrictions (and he gets ample exercise)! He can be quite the stubborn boy at times, but he is highly treat motivated. He is still working on not jumping up on people. Olaf is up to date on vaccines, neutered, HW- and microchipped. Does Olaf sound like a good fit for your family? Reach out for an adoption application!

Story
Meet Ronan! This 2-year-old, 61-pound happy-go-lucky husky mix is a fun as can be! He will bring years of smiles to one lucky family! Before coming to GLDR, Ronan spent some time in a foster home and they just raved about him! They sent a hand written letter to his future adopters. He hung out with small children and absolutely loved them. Ronan also enjoys the company of other pups. If you're looking for a playful pal for your pup, he's your man! Not only is he devastatingly handsome, Ronan loves spending time outside and is always ready for action! He will thrive in a home where he can receive additional training, lots of daily exercise, and have a yard to run in. He already knows how to sit and is capable so so much more! He will benefit from someone with husky experience who can satisfy his physical and mental stimulation needs. He'll make a great partner in crime! Based on our evaluation, we feel Ronan would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages five and up. He may have the capacity to live in a home with other dogs and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think Ronan could be the guy for you, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for this peppy pup!

Story
What a sweet girl Maggie is! She is estimated to about 6 months old and weighs 30 pounds right now, but she is sure to get bigger. Get ready to fall in love with the adorable Maggie! She is a gorgeous girl with captivating blue eyes and an incredibly fluffy coat. With a timid yet playful nature, Maggie takes a little time to warm up, but once she feels safe, her true personality shines through. Everything seems new to her and she just likes to take things slow at first. She loves nothing more than to snuggle up close, leaning against you and sneaking into your lap for some extra love and attention. Maggie is a really nice girl and can't wait to grow up with a family to love her. She will need a home where any children are at least 8 years old with her more shy personality. Maggie would love it if you came to meet her, she's ready to trust, open up, and fill your life with love! If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Maggie would love to meet them. She has a soft and playful approach with other dogs. She really seems to come out of her shell with other dogs, she came to the rescue with her mom, Danni. If you are interested in Maggie and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

***Deuce is in a foster home, so he is not at the kennel. If you are interested in him, please fill out an application at K9stray.com and we will be in touch.*** This handsome guy is about 7 years old and 70 pounds. Deuce is a typical large breed dog- slow moving, calm, and laid back with short playful bursts of energy. He loves people and other dogs. Deuce knows sit, down, high five, shake, wait, stay, off and leave it. He is fully house trained and is currently in foster with an older male and younger female dog. His favorite things to do include time with his people, hikes, car rides and playtime, especially with other dogs. Deuce needs a knowledgeable and active adopter who can keep him challenged and set limits. Deuce initially displayed some food guarding at the kennel. This is not apparent in his foster care. However, his adopter will need to continue working with him so that it does not resurface. He needs an adult only home. Deuce would love a fenced in yard to safely explore. If you are interested in Deuce and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and his foster mom will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. Story
Oh Danni, such a fluffy darling! She is estimated to be about 2 years old and weighs 52 pounds. Meet Danni, a gorgeous girl with such tender brown eyes. She is a sensitive soul who is a little submissive and just wants to please her people. Danni is full of sweetness and is always eager to give gentle kisses and lean in for some love and attention. She seems to walk nicely on leash, taking in the sights and sounds, and is happy to be by your side. If you like to give belly rubs, Danni will lay there as long as you want, soaking up all the love. She would like it if you came to meet her, she is dreaming of a forever family, she is going to make such a wonderful best friend. Danni will need a home where any children are at least 8 years old with her more timid personality. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Danni would love to meet them. She has a friendly, soft approach with other dogs. When she was introduced to one of our really shy dogs, Infinity, it was more of a nurturing interaction, it was really sweet. Danni came to the rescue with her daughter Maggie. If you are interested in Danni and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying.
