Story
KUZCO (#31405) - Male. Around 3-4 years old and 63 pounds. We suggest slow and proper introductions with other dogs. Cats unknown. Meets recommended with children - we suggest older kids. Very smart boy; knows sit, down, shake, and sit pretty. Such a good boy! Would love an active home that will give him plenty of exercise.

Story
Meet Onyx! Onxy is a spectacular three-year-old, 50 pound husky who was surrendered to GLDR by the only family he had ever know. He had been with them since he was eight weeks old and now is understandably confused sitting in a kennel. Let's show him that the best is yet to come and that there's a family who will love and treasure him the way he deserves. Onyx is a pup of many talents beginning with knowing some commands. He has mastered "sit", "come", and "shake" and is no doubt capable of learning much more. He has done well with learning hand signals. Onyx will benefit from continued training in his new home along with daily exercise and enrichment to keep him engaged. Bonus! Onyx is both house-trained and crate-trained! He was bell-trained to go outside and will let you know he's ready to go out. This stately pup also walks great on a leash. He does well in the car and would make and excellent co-pilot on your next road trip! When is comes to toys, Onyx loves his squeaky/crinkle toys and is looking forward to plenty of them to play with in his new home! Like most huskies, Onyx does have a strong prey drive so a high fenced-in yard is a must to keep him safe. A home with no cats/small animals is also a requirement. Based on our evaluation, Onyx would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. He may have the potential to live with other dogs of a similar energy level. We are happy to do a meet and greet with you family fur baby. Onyx is betting that his next family will be his forever one!!! To apply for Onyx, please visit greatlakesdogrescue.com today!

Story
**In a foster home and not at the kennel** This handsome guy is about 4 years old and 70 pounds. Deuce is a typical large breed dog- slow moving, calm, and laid back with short playful bursts of energy. He loves people and other dogs. Deuce knows sit, down, high five, shake, wait, stay, off and leave it. He is fully house trained and is currently in foster with an older male and younger female dog. His favorite things to do include time with his people, hikes, car rides and playtime, especially with other dogs. Deuce needs a knowledgeable and active adopter who can keep him challenged and set limits. Deuce initially displayed some food guarding at the kennel. This is not apparent in his foster care. However, his adopter will need to continue working with him so that it does not resurface. He needs an adult only home. Deuce would love a fenced in yard to safely explore. *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*
