Story
Lainey is a very athletic girl who is smart, food motivated, and a quick learner. She is working hard on housebreaking and almost has it mastered. She learned how to sit and shake in just a couple of minutes, showing how eager she is to please.Lainey loves kids, gets along with everyone she meets, and even travels well. She truly just wants to be with her people and soak up all the love, especially from little ones. She also does great with other animals and would make an excellent jogging or active companion. This girl can jump a baby gate like a tiny deer but once she is settled in her kennel, she is quiet through the night and goes right in for a treat. Like many puppies her age, she is still working on not jumping up when she is excited and learning to take food gently from childrens hands. With continued training, she is going to be an amazing family dog.Location: Foster homeLainey is 8 months old and weighs 32 pounds. The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.helpingstrays.org

Story
Kodiak is a 1.5-year-old Husky mix with the spirit of a happy snowstorm and the charm of a professional goofball. One look at him and you’ll notice his eyes first — the brightest icy blue, so pale they almost shimmer white, like tiny winter moons keeping watch. He’s playful to his core, the kind of dog who can turn a simple toy into a full-on celebration. Give him something squeaky or bouncy and he’s all in, tail spinning like a little propeller. Wonderfully food motivated, Kodiak is a quick study. He already knows sit, shake, and lay down, performing each one with the proud flourish of a dog who knows he’s absolutely crushing it. He’s eager to please, eager to learn, and eager for affection... honestly, he’s just eager for everything. After his joyful zoom sessions, Kodiak happily shifts into cuddle mode, soaking up every ounce of attention like it’s his favorite treat. He’s a bright, silly, affectionate boy looking for someone who appreciates a little extra sparkle in their daily life.

Story
**Courtesy Post** Ramona is about 8-10 years old Weighs 37lbs Husky mix  Fully vetted and hw-   Ramona was severely abused in her past and was emaciated when she came to me. She flinches when you move too fast and is always ready to be hit. She's gotten much better and doesn't jump every time she's touched anymore but we're still working on making her feel more comfortable.    She's the sweetest gal without an aggressive bone in her body. She tries to engage in play but she has 2 severely luxated patella's so she isn't incredibly stable. She takes gabapentin for her knees and that seems to make her feel a whole lot better! She likes other dogs but doesn't like them being rowdy in her face and who could blame her! The most she'll do is bark and walk away. She's learning to enjoy walks bones toys and a comfy place to sleep!    She struggled with digestive issues but after a round of steroids she seems to be doing 100% better! She takes probiotics and one serving of Metamucil per day plus she gets a tablespoons of pumpkin with both meals.    This girl is unbelievably sweet and deserves a calm home where she can continue her progress of being a dog.   To adopt Ramona please send an email to Nickiroy37@gmail.comVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 19, 2025, 3:20 pm

Story
***COURTESY POST*** Meet   Bruno who will be 3 on Valentine's day. Bruno weighs in at just under 60 lbs, has the most beautiful blue eyes and is 50% cuddler & 50% party play pal. His coat is a gorgeous soft red merle and white. We believe he's a mix of Husky/border collie with perhaps a bit of Aussie thrown in. Bruno had a rough start. He was kept in complete isolation for his first 10 months. When he came into foster care he was a bit feral, no training with either humans or other dogs and overcome with anxiety.    He's since, had professional training and has settled into family life with his other fosters and 2 little girls. He currently lives with those  2 little females, foster puppies who have come and gone, a cat and 3 parrots.   Bruno still is on high alert when outside, after being in solitary confinement during his puppy development years, but continues to improve. When inside he's a calm, cuddly happy guy that just wants to be with his person.   Bruno has bitten when a fence collapsed and he was running free. Most recently he bit a stranger that entered his yard.    Bruno needs an experienced handler who will keep up with teaching Bruno acceptable behavior and understand that he is a different dog inside (sweet and cuddly), and outside (anxiety/high alert).   If you are interested in adopting Bruno or have questions, please email slinds4619@yahoo.com Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 17, 2025, 12:11 pm
