Story
Chewie is a very loving, cuddly, loyal pup. He's approximately 4 years old and 90 lbs. I have had him for about 9 months. The previous owner overfed him and didn't exercise him. He has lost 30 lbs since being with us. He loves people and he's great with kids. He will be sad to see you go and be right at the door wagging his tail when you return. He loves to go for long walks. He's got tons of energy. He's a Husky, so he will shed a lot. He is also very dominant when around other dogs. He gets along great with my Hound, who's about the same age and weight. However, he did bite a smaller dog who was off leash and charged at him. I have boarded him numerous times because I travel for work. He's never had any problems with dogs his size. I just have a lot of friends and neighbors with smaller dogs, so it's not the right fit for us. It breaks my heart to let him go. He is so full of life and love.

He has been a very sweet boy during his time here, although he has been quite nervous and scared, likely due to the shelter environment. Once he is out of the shelter, he will probably be much more open and happy. Please do your research on the Husky breed before adopting. They are very active and adventurous, and need plenty of space to run, play, and exercise. The shelter provides a 5-day health guarantee for adopted animals. This includes health conditions not present or known about by the shelter at the of adoption, which adopter becomes aware of within 5 days. Injuries or accidents that occur at the adopter's home are not covered. The shelter is not responsible for incurred costs from local veterinarians due to non-compliance. ALL adoptions are final! Story
This cute little guy is Rudy.  He is guessed to be a husky mix, maybe husky/cattle dog or kelpie.  Whatever he is, he is super cute, friendly and a happy little guy.  This is despite being seen dropped out of a car with the driver driving away to which poor Rudy reacted lost and devastated.  He is guessed to be two years or younger and is currently a nice compact size at just under 40 lbs.  He loves to romp and play with other high-play dogs.  He is doing very well in a crate and appears to be housebroken although there is a doggie door like situation at his foster home.  He is very affectionate and likes to lay in your lap occasionally.  He does have quite a bit energy and is still very puppy-like with his play.  He is ready for an active home preferably with another playful dog. If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Rudy Pankow’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
