Story
Bailey is a sweet young husky Pyrenees mix puppy. She loves showing affection and being super playful. She is house trained and will signal need to potty by waiting by the front door. Bailey gets along well with our submissive male dog. Does well with kids but she is big and may knock over small kids when excited.

Story
Some people want a standard-issue, cookie-cutter dog: one who looks like thousands of others. One who fits into neat categories. I'm for those other guys. The ones who want a one-of-a-kind dog. My name is Koda and you're not going to find my face on mass-produced socks that say "proud owner of a [insert breed here]". You're not going to chat up a stranger and be able to convey my whole personality in one sentence. I'm a complex guy. I'm eleven years old, 59 lb, and generally pretty low-key. I don't need a whole lot of exercise, but I do love going for walks. I love attention and get a little bounce in my step when someone I know and like comes to hang out with me. I'm a bit "cat-like." I'm independent AND affectionate. I can spend ages just chilling on my own, hanging out quietly in the sunshine, taking naps, and watching the world go by. I'm deaf, or at least quite hard-of-hearing, so I'm not bothered by noise. Before I came to the shelter, I had gone without regular healthcare for a long time, so I was sensitive and in pain. I'm a lot better now and most of my health problems have resolved. The only special care I need is that, for my meals, I eat canned food instead of dry. I'm still a bit touchy when it comes to body handling, though, so I'd need an adopter who is willing to treat me with respect and occasionally take "no" for an answer. For that reason, I'm probably not the best match for a home with young kids. I've earned the right to have my curmudgeonly moments, I think. I just want to live an easy, quiet life with nobody pestering me, except when I want it. I'd like to be a solo pet- no other dogs or cats, please. Just my favorite human(s) and me. Because I'm 11 years old, I'm eligible for the Seniors-4-Seniors program. That means I'm available for adoption by anyone of any age, but if someone over 65 adopts me, the adoption fee is just one dollar and routine vet care and food for the rest of my life is covered at no cost to the adopter. So if you've got room in your life for a one-of-a-kind occasionally-grumpy old man, come and check me out! If interested please fill out a preliminary at odas.org/canine and someone will contact you to schedule your visit.

Story
Meet Dacre, a 6-month-old, 40 lb bundle of potential with a heart that just needs a little time to shine. Dacre does great with other dogs and would likely thrive in a home with a confident canine companion to show him the ropes. He’s a routine-loving pup who feels most comfortable when he knows what to expect, structure is his best friend and helps him build confidence. New people and environments can be a bit overwhelming at first, but Dacre is absolutely worth the patience. With gentle guidance and positive reinforcement, he warms up beautifully. And once you’re in his circle, you’re in for life. He forms strong bonds and clearly remembers the people who have cared for him, greeting familiar faces with love and recognition. Like any puppy, Dacre is still learning the ropes. He may sneak a chew on something he shouldn’t or investigate the trash if given the chance. Potty training is still a work in progress and will need consistency and patience from his future family. Dacre would do best in a lower-traffic home with adults where he can continue building confidence at his own pace. He’s very food motivated, which will be a huge asset in training and bonding. If you’re looking for a loyal, sensitive pup who will reward your patience with deep connection and love, Dacre is ready to find his person.
