Story
This pretty girl is Jada.  She is guessed to be a 2 year old shepherd/husky mix.   She is smart, affectionate, high energy and vocal.  She would do best with a fenced yard or another playmate.  She loves to run, play and roughhouse with the other young dogs in her foster home.  She appears to be house broke and goes into her crate easily.  She could use some training and has some puppy behavior still but is very trainable as she seems to learn quickly.  She will make a great dog for a family but is probably too high energy for toddlers and younger.    If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Jada’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Story
Breccia (Bre CHE a) is a beautiful husky mix with the prettiest blue eyes.  She is smaller than her pictures and weighs about 48 pounds. She is a little skinny right now because she just had 9 puppies about 12 weeks ago. She is around 2 years old and knows sit and paw.  She is very friendly and would love a home with a 6ft fenced in yard. She is dog friendly and easy going. If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Story
My name is Chomper and I'm not the kind of dog whose world is just black and white. Where some dogs are brown-eyed or blue-eyed, I'm both. Where some dogs' coat colors are easy to describe, mine is... Blue? Tan? White? Merle? A little of each? It's not just that, though. For some dogs, life is good. People are great. That's all they've ever known and all they ever will know. And for some, people are scary and life is tough. For me... it's a little of both. I love people. I'm cuddly and affectionate and I really WANT to be everyone's friend. But I've learned from experience that dogs have to be careful. Not all people are safe. Sometimes, when they move too fast, I get scared and flinch and back away. I do know that there are a lot of good people in the world. People who won't hurt me, ever, no matter what. And I'm looking for one of those. Someone with a gentle soul. You probably want to know if I get along well with other animals and, like everything else... it's not a simple "yes" or "no." In the home I came from, I lived with another dog, cats, and pre-teen kids. But since coming to the shelter, I haven't wanted to be friends with any of the animals I've met. See what I mean about things not being black and white? What I do know for sure is that I'm a good boy. I'm going to be someone's "heart dog" for sure- the one they'll never forget. Are you the kind of person who can help a dog like me heal? Who can hold my paw when I get scared and teach me to expect a beautiful life? Come and meet me. Please. I need you. Please fill out the preliminary at odas.org/canine if you want to visit this youngster!

Story
My name is Harley and I'm ready to have the BEST. SUMMER. EVER! You might not think I look like a summer girl and... well... yes and no. I mean, obviously, I'm a husky. We're snow dogs. But THIS summer is different. Because this is the summer I'm going to find my FOR.EV.ER HOME! I can't wait to see what kind of adventures I'll have! The holidays I'll celebrate! I'm 8 years old, but I've still got plenty of wonderful things ahead. I'm an excellent dog- great house manners, friendly with strangers (I'm not real sure about little eye-level kids, but bigger kids and adults are all cool with me!), super-affectionate and cuddly... just everything you'd want in a best friend. I haven't made any animal friends since I've been in the shelter, but I came from a home with another dog and a cat, so... I'm not ruling it out entirely. I'd be great solo, though- just my human and me. Or my humans and me. I'd be perfect for someone who wants a dog who isn't too young, too little, or too out-of-control wild. I mean, I am a husky, so I've still got brains and energy and the capacity for stubbornness. But I'm an adult. What have you got planned for the summer? If it's "make a new best friend," I think I may have you covered! Just come out and meet me.

Story
HI, my name is Mickey. I am an energetic dog ready to be your buddy. I am a big beautiful boy looking for just the right home for my needs. I am currently working on training with my friends at the shelter and would love to find an owner that is willing to continue working with me. Mickey would be most successful in a home without other animals and only adults. We would love to discuss more about Mickey with you and whether or not he is a fit for your family. Please call today to find out more about our big boys specific needs to see if he is a match for you and then we can schedule a visit. At this time, we are scheduling meets with Mickey by appointment only. Mickey is two years old and weighs 79 pounds. The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in setting up a meet and greet, please complete an application on our website or call the shelter.www.helpingstrays.org
