INSIGHTS FROM MY ADVENTURE BUDDIES:`Oakley is sweetie who was definitely nervous at first but warmed up. He paces a bit but after we took him on a walk he was tired out and laid down and chilled. He loves food/treats. Also, we only heard his voice once! He has a great temperament and he`s very sweet. He is good with everyone and a great walker!`

Story
Hey there, my name is Tucker! I am a sweet and goofy boy who can be scared of new people. If you take the time to get to know me I will be your best friend! I am an energetic and young dog who would do well in an active home that can continue to work on training with me. Please ask staff if you have any questions about me!Foster notes on Tucker:`Tucker had an awesome time on our adventure at Johnston Preserve! He was calm and relaxed in the car, quietly waiting in the back until we arrived. We got some good exercise on an extra long hike, and he was great on leash. He did lots of sniffing and seemed to really enjoy being out in the fresh air and sunshine.` My adoption fee has been fully sponsored. Adopt me and pay $0.00!!!

Story
Ghost is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet and will surely steal your heart! Laid back and very well-mannered, he enjoys an active lifestyle, with daily long walks of several miles and plenty of time to sniff out the latest smells. While walking, Ghost doesn’t pull, but he is a big, strong boy, so he does need a strong and experienced handler. Although he is gentle and likes children, Ghost would be best living with adults. He may prefer to be an only dog, but he is drawn to gentle female dogs and may live happily with another dog. Huskies are an inquisitive and active breed who like to roam. So Ghost needs a large yard with at least a 6-foot privacy fence and an adopter who will enjoy spending time hanging with him and playing fun games to help keep him entertained and contained. Great in the car, he is always up for a fun ride. And a treat! He takes treats gently and will not jump up on you. Ghost's accomplishments are many. He is great on a leash, is house-trained and crate-trained, and will go into the crate upon request and sleeps overnight there without a sound. He has his silly, zoomy moments, like when chasing after his favorite toy he runs around the room. This gorgeous dog will surely make some lucky family a wonderful, loving companion! HEALTH Ghost is up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. HISTORY Ghost was found after being lost for 3 months. His owners were located and contacted but did not want him back. Luckily, one of IAR's fosters intervened and brought him into the program! PHYSICAL Ghost is white with golden highlights on his ears, neck and down his back. His fluffy white tail often curls over his back.

Story
My name is Capulin and I came to the shelter when my previous owner could no longer care for me. I came in with another dog who I seemed to get along with well. I do have a low grade heart murmur that does not appear to be causing me any issues currently. I am a happy, sweet dog! Foster notes on Capulin:`Capulin is a sweet dog with low energy. We went for a walk and he did well on the leash and didn’t react to strangers or cars passing by. He likes treats and laying on the couch. He was nervous to get into the car, but once he was in, he settled down. We hung out at home for a couple of hours and when strangers walked through the door, he seemed nervous but didn’t bark. We hung out at home for a couple of hours and he liked to lay on the couch and look out the back door. He is sweet and mellow.``Capulin was shy at first but warmed up with plenty of praise and pets! We took him on a hike in the woods, and he loved it! Sniffed almost every tree and seems like he’d love to go for a run as well! We saw some deer and he was very chill and didn’t bark at all. He checks behind him when walking to make sure you’re still there! He also loves butt scratches. So cute.``Capulin was the sweetest boy! We went on a 2 mile hike and he was wonderful! After taking a minute to warm up Cap was all about pets, especially butt rubs. He did very well in the car and barely pulled on the leash, even ignoring the many squirrels & deer that we came upon during our walk. I can assume he would be the best cuddler as he accepted many hugs during our time together. I hope Capulin gets the best home, he deserves it! I love how he is up to do anything, rather that be a chill day with lots of pets or a walk through the woods.`I`m a stylishly senior pet and therefore my adoption fee has been reduced. Story
My name is Mia and I came to the shelter when my previous owner could no longer care for me. I came in with another dog who I seem to get along with well. Please consider adopting me. I am a very sweet girl!I`m a stylishly senior pet and therefore my adoption fee has been reduced. If you are 65 and older and interested in adopting me, ask staff about our Senior Squared deal! Go to this page for more information about available pets, adopting, visiting our facility, and contacting our adoption desk.INSIGHTS FROM MY FOSTER FRIENDS AND ADVENTURE BUDDIES:`Mia is a sweetheart. She did great on our walks and hikes, not pulling too much and being very respectful of the walkers/runners/bikers/dogs that passed by. She loves saying hello to people, but doesn`t pull too hard and enjoys pets. She was a little nervous in the car at first (kept wanting to hop in the front), but got more relaxed in the back as the day went on. She was very comfortable with me brushing out dead grass and leaves from her coat after our hike. She doesn`t quite know how to play with toys, but loves treats a lot and a peanut-butter-filled Kong. She seems up to go on adventures, but was also happy to sit or lie down calmly whenever we had down time. She can still turn on the pep when she wants, but is overall very calm, friendly, and well-behaved!``Mia is an incredible dog — very affectionate, relaxed, and great with everyone she meets. She adjusts quickly, listens well, and brings such a peaceful energy to the home. Anyone would be lucky to adopt her! My favorite thing about her is how loving she is. She gently leans in for cuddles and makes everyone feel special. She is very gentle with kids and loves to sit next to kids.`
