Story
Hello all! Like my name implies, I am the KING of the castle around here! I am a handsome, high energy guy and would love someone who is just as energetic as I am. I would also love a family who is familiar with my breed and who is willing to give me the proper training that I need so that I can be the best boy ever. I can be picky about my dog friends, so staff recommends very slow and monitored introductions to any other dogs living in the home. We want any potential adopter to be prepared to dedicate time and patience to making a proper introduction to any other pets in a new home so that everyone stays safe. See our recommendations here. I would do best in a home without feline friends as they are just too intriguing to me. If you have questions about me, please ask to speak with staff.

Story
PROFILE Ghost is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet and will surely steal your heart! He is laid back and very well mannered. We are looking for an adult-only home with a large fenced yard that is at least 6 feet tall where he can run and play.* Ghost adores going for long walks, so we're also looking for an adopter who is active. He does well with other dogs, but he would likely be fine as an only dog. He loves to go for car rides on adventures! Ghost will not jump up on you. He takes treats very gently and likes to eat while lying down. Ghost is great on a leash, is house-trained and crate-trained, and will go in the crate upon request and sleeps overnight there without a sound. * Ghost is a Husky mix, and Huskies are known escape artists. So although we don't know if Ghost would dig out, he would need to be attended while in a fenced yard. This gorgeous dog will surely makes some lucky family a wonderful, loving companion! PHYSICAL Ghost is white with golden highlights on his ears, neck and down his back. His fluffy white tail often curls over his back. HEALTH Ghost is up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped. HISTORY Ghost had been missing for over 3 months. He traveled many miles during that time, then thankfully he was finally caught. However, Ghost's family decided they did not want him back; and he was taken to a rural county animal shelter.

Story
Pie is a friendly girl looking for a forever family. She loves other dogs and enjoying running and playing. She is still working on learning how to introduce herself calmly to other dogs, sometimes she gets so excited she is a little overbearing! Pie loves to play with the water hose and getting hugs and snuggles. She knows some basic obedience like "sit" and is working on other skills like leash walking. She does well in the house and has done well with her crate training. Pie would love a family that will shower her with plenty of attention and exercise! Story
Hello! My name is Furi. I am a large sized, laid back and gentle fella. I enjoy going for walks and eating yummy treats. My previous owners stated that I know commands in Spanish. I can be timid with new people and need to work on my leash manners so please be patient while I adjust to my new environment. Like many dogs in NC, I am currently heartworm positive. OCAS will be helping by beginning my treatment but you`ll need to follow up with your veterinarian! During treatment I will be on an oral medication and will need to get a topical solution monthly until I have a Negative Heartworm Test. If you have any questions about this please ask to speak with a member of the medical staff.
