Story
Petey This beautiful boy is the quintessential old-fashioned dog Petey. I have been fostering Petey for a year and completely in love. Too many other fosters to give him the attention he craves and deserves. He loves children and to be active and quiet time with close cuddling. He is good with other friendly dogs. He is E collar trained. He is about 80 pounds with powerful play energy with other dogs. He sleeps on a couch or in bed or just about anywhere - will go in a crate, but prefers not. He is not destructive. Petey is playful and trainable. The first year of his life was neglect being left outside tied to a tire.Despite this, his good nature has persevered. This sweet boy deserves the best in life and would do well in any home. He is on a foster to adopt basis. If it is not a fit immediately or at any time in the future, he must only be returned to me. He is sponsored. Come and meet him! He really is the best.

Story
Diesel is a 5 year old pure bread Siberian Husky that has lived with us since he was a puppy. He is highly energetic, affectionate, and intelligent. He embodies all the positive traits associated with the breed. He knows his basic commands (sit, down, come, heel, stay, speak, etc.), is house trained, and leash trained. He loves being outside and spends a lot of his time in our large fenced in yard. This is not a dog for small spaces. We have several small children (under 3) and he does very well with them. We do not have cats so aren't sure how he would do with them. He does have a very high prey drive. We are looking for a home where he will receive ample exercise, space, and attention.

Story
Ghost is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet and will surely steal your heart! Laid back and very well-mannered, he enjoys an active lifestyle, with daily long walks of several miles and plenty of time to sniff out the latest smells. While walking, Ghost doesn’t pull, but he is a big, strong boy, so he does need a strong and experienced handler. Although he is gentle and likes children, Ghost would be best living with adults. He may prefer to be an only dog, but he is drawn to gentle female dogs and may live happily with another dog. Huskies are an inquisitive and active breed who like to roam. So Ghost needs a large yard with at least a 6-foot privacy fence and an adopter who will enjoy spending time hanging with him and playing fun games to help keep him entertained and contained. Great in the car, he is always up for a fun ride. And a treat! He takes treats gently and will not jump up on you. Ghost's accomplishments are many. He is great on a leash, is house-trained and crate-trained, and will go into the crate upon request and sleeps overnight there without a sound. He has his silly, zoomy moments, like when chasing after his favorite toy he runs around the room. This gorgeous dog will surely make some lucky family a wonderful, loving companion! HEALTH Ghost is up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. HISTORY Ghost was found after being lost for 3 months. His owners were located and contacted but did not want him back. Luckily, one of IAR's fosters intervened and brought him into the program! PHYSICAL Ghost is white with golden highlights on his ears, neck and down his back. His fluffy white tail often curls over his back.

Story
Hey there, my name is Tucker! I am a sweet and goofy boy who can be scared of new people. If you take the time to get to know me I will be your best friend! I am an energetic and young dog who would do well in an active home that can continue to work on training with me. Please ask staff if you have any questions about me!Foster notes on Tucker:`Tucker had an awesome time on our adventure at Johnston Preserve! He was calm and relaxed in the car, quietly waiting in the back until we arrived. We got some good exercise on an extra long hike, and he was great on leash. He did lots of sniffing and seemed to really enjoy being out in the fresh air and sunshine.``Snowy afternoon adventures with Tucker! He hopped in the car like a perfect gentleman and was ready to roll. From meeting Cookie and Mojo, to running fence side with the alpacas, playing ball, exploring the grounds, and winding down with a trail walk, this sweet, curious boy was all smiles. He even hung around with a new human friend (Ben) while he did some cleaning up. He was a little hesitant with Ben at first, but warmed up quickly when Ben waited until Tucker was ready. He checks in for treats, loves people, and is always game for an adventure. Tucker is silly, affectionate, and full of joy, and I’d love to see him with someone who matches his adventurous spirit.` `Tucker initially greeted me with lots of barking, but over time, he got used to my presence. He takes some time to warm up, but once he knows you, he is very friendly. He is both toy and treat motivated, but especially loves tennis balls. He does much better outside the kennel than inside. I love Tucker’s friendly and goofy personality.`My adoption fee has been fully sponsored. Adopt me and pay $0.00!!!

I'm Lola, your 60 pound bundle of husky happiness!  I am a grown-up girl who is 4 years old.  I'm a total sweetheart with a playful personality, and I've never met a human (old or young) thatI didn't instantly adore! I'm a gentle girl, always up for cuddles, head scratches, and maybe even a few stolen kisses. I am way too interested in cats.  So I need to find a home without kitties so I can be on my best behavior.   Outdoors, I'm a zoomie champion! I love to run and play, especially with my foster sibling. But don't worry, once we're back inside, I transform into the perfect houseguest. I'll curl up and chill out until it's time for another adventure.   I would love a fenced yard and a furry male playmate in my forever home. I am a social girl who will do best in a home with a male dog. But, if you are up to playing and walking with me, that will work too.  I need my exercise to get my wiggles out!  I'm already a leash-walking pro and can't wait to explore the neighborhood with my new family.  I'm a quiet around the house except when I get excited.  My foster mom is working with me, I am a quick learner,  to not bark when I'm excited!  I am not a fan of the crate but I don’t need a crate because I have great house manners.  My foster mom works from home so I sit quietly while she does her work.  I have been left along 4-6 hours with no problems.  I am potty trained with no accidents in the house,  crate-free, and I promise not to chew your shoes.  If you're looking for a loving, loyal, and sweet companion who's always up for fun, I might just be the girl for you! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 EVERY DOG HAS A STORY:   Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.     Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.   INTERESTED IN ADOPTING  LOLA? Story
Meet Goosey, a stunning Siberian Husky who’s as sweet as she is beautiful! At a petite 40 pounds, she’s full of energy, love, and personality. Goosey is a total people-pleaser who gets along with other dogs and is generally submissive in her doggie relationships. She absolutely thrives on attention and is always ready to make new friends—two-legged or four-legged when out and about in the world.Goosey is an affectionate and mostly well-behaved girl, but she does like things her way and can be possessive of her toys, food, and personal space. She’s been making great progress with a trainer and is learning to share her world a bit more each day. To help her continue building on that success, her adopter should have experience with resource guarding and be ready to continue working with her trainer. With the right structure and support, Goosey can truly thrive. Given her needs, she’ll do best as the only pet in the home.As for crate time, she’s definitely not a fan—she’s a certified escape artist when it comes to her crate, often pulling off Houdini-level escapes! Because of her escape artistry, a 6-foot fence or an active home ready for regular leash walks is a must for her.If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate, and playful companion who will keep you on your toes, Goosey is the one! She's ready to bring her energy and love into your home, and she's sure to be your best friend for life.
