Story
I got Oreo a year ago. I fall in love with his character. Very smart and yet very silly. Oh, yes he will talk back at you. He is home trained and loves kids. He is pack animal and he does very well with family. Very playful. He has a undeniable personality. With my new job traveling, and rest of family not giving him enough time, I am looking for a family that can adopt him and give him the time and love that he needs. If you are someone who likes outdoor then this dog is for you. Siberian Huskies are renowned for their distinctive personalities, blending intelligence, independence, and an inherent sense of adventure. Bred originally by the Chukchi people of Siberia for sledding, these dogs possess a strong work ethic and an undying stamina. Their friendly disposition extends to both people and other dogs, making them amiable companions and suitable for families. However, their independent streak can sometimes translate into stubbornness, requiring firm but gentle training to home

Story
Ghost is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet and will surely steal your heart! Laid back and very well-mannered, he's the perfect man to, say, bring home to the folks. Ghost enjoys an active lifestyle, with long walks and plenty of time to sniff out the latest smells. Great in the car, he is always up for a fun ride. And a treat! https://fb.watch/rmzWnrvSZZ/?mibextid=CmRSLE Although he is gentle and likes children, Ghost would probably be best with adults. Especially those who enjoy philosophical conversations about the meaning of life! Although Ghost is inclined to wonder whether being an only dog may be the best way to live, he is drawn to gentle female dogs and could likely live happily with another dog. Ghost's accomplishments are many. He takes treats gently and will not jump up on you. He is great on a leash, is house-trained and crate-trained, and will go into the crate upon request and sleeps overnight there without a sound. He has his silly, zoomy moments, like when chasing after his favorite toy he runs around the room. Very smart, Ghost would enjoy being mentally stimulated as well, and we encourage future partners to read up on some of the activities and training that will delight a dog like Ghost. Huskies are an inquisitive and active breed who can . . . um . . . pursue the wide world on their own if inadvertently given the opportunity. A large yard with a 6-foot privacy fence and time spent with fun games will help keep him well entertained and contained. This gorgeous dog will surely make some lucky family a wonderful, loving companion! HEALTH Ghost is up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. HISTORY Ghost was found as a stray. His owners were located and contacted but did not want him back. Luckily, one of IAR's fosters intervened and brought him into the program! PHYSICAL Ghost is white with golden highlights on his ears, neck and down his back. His fluffy white tail often curls over his back.

Story
Star is playful, affectionate, intelligent, and energetic. He has expressive eyes and a sweetly mischievous disposition. He is always looking to learn or play, and he loves to work on new skills and tricks -- and to show them off! He melts into cuddles and belly rubs. He may look regal when running or bounding along -- but as soon as you get to know him his playful and silly spirit, and his eagerness to please, shine through and are what really define his personality. He has a quizzical face tilt to rival all others! Star's best day would include an opportunity for one or two long walks or runs, a chance to practice some of his new tricks, and lots of snuggles and belly rubs to let him know what a good boy he is! Star will thrive in a place where he can be a single pet or where there is a very established dog to help show him the ropes. As a very intelligent "working dog" Star needs to have a job, and training/learning is a great challenge to stimulate him. Star has been going to weekly training classes-and he is a STAR. HISTORY Star was adopted as a puppy from IAR but his owner passed away. PHYSICAL Star is very graceful and the first thing you notice about him is his gorgeous marking and bright eyes. HEALTH Star is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered.

Story
PERSONALITY & BEHAVIORS Bella Moon is very loving, affectionate, and friendly. She is looking for a home with a fenced yard, as she loves the outdoors and prefers to spend most of her day outside. You can find her in a lawn chair when she needs a rest from playing in the yard (see her photo), checking out the world or napping. She also adores going for walks and loves riding in the car. At this time, Bella is best suited for a home with no other dogs or young children, as she is still practicing interacting with new dogs and people. She has, however, learned a healthy respect for cats! Highly intelligent and motivated to please, Bella learns very quickly and in just a week mastered Sit, Out, Wait (even when she's in the car), No, and Down (check out her video playing her favorite game of fetch-she even will bring the toy back to you! (Check out her video!) Although she is not crate-trained she does not need to be crated, as she doesn't bother any belongings and is potty trained. Bella is already great with loose-leashing walking, and her foster mom says, "It's so relaxing walking with her. Very curious and attentive, Bella will let you know when there is a stray chicken or bird threatening the well-being of the household. An independent gal, she often entertains herself playing with her toys. And she is respectful of them and never tears any of them up. See her delight with a squeaky one: (Check out her video!) Bella sleeps about 8.5 hours during the night and enjoys a nap for an hour or so daily. HISTORY Bella Moon was taken to a local shelter after her owner needed to move in with family, who did not want a dog. HEALTH Bella Moon is up-to-date on vaccinations and heartworm negative, and will be microchipped and spayed soon. PHYSICAL Bella Moon has a beautiful white coat that feels like a cotton ball. On her ears and here and there elsewhere are some apricot markings. She has one brown eye and one blue eye, and a fluffy tail.

Hi there! My name is Jackie. I am a medium sized, playful and curious gal. I enjoy going on adventures and eating yummy treats! I hope my furever family is able to give me lots of love and affection. Staff noticed that I sometimes do not bear my full weight on my back left leg and it appears that I had surgery on that leg before coming to the shelter. No worries, I am still a happy gal who loves to run and play. I can`t wait to meet you and become your best pal :)

Story
Dexter is a short husky mix about 2ft tall he is 3 years old. Very energetic, loving, silly, curious and he loves to play around. His favorite activities are to go on runs, play tug-o-war , belly rubs and most of all long naps in the sun. He gets along with other dogs mostly puppies since they’re just as playful as him. He isn’t trained so he needs a leash when going on walks and will need to be patient when potty training him. If you decide to take him in we will provide you with his cage. he would like to have space to run around and be free so if you have a fenced yard that’s a plus.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. You MUST complete a Best Friend Pet Adoption application if you are interested in Tesla.  Please fill out our dog adoption application by copying and pasting this link in a new browser window:   https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC     Tesla (Tes) is an exuberant, friendly girl with lots of personality. She is roughly 4-5 years old, ~65lbs and appears to be a Husky, Shepherd, possibly Carolina Dog mix - whatever mix she is - she is absolutely beautiful, especially with her stunning blue eyes!   Tes is housebroken/crate trained and is normally crated when no one is home. She has been left for 8 hours during work days with no potty issues. She needs a large crate (42" - 48") as she likes to sprawl wide open and sleeps belly up in some of the cutest positions. She usually sleeps in her crate at night, but has done well sleeping out overnight and enjoys snuggling up on the couch. Tes wouldn't be suitable in an apartment and would do best with a fenced yard. She can be vocal at times and will definitely alert you that someone/something is at the door or yard. She does fine with the 4ft chain link at her foster home.   Tesla has medium-high energy. Since she's been settled in her foster home, she doesn't require a ton of exercise, but does need daily physical simulation/lots of outdoor time for her to explore - she likes to entertain herself with a ball/toy. Tes would do just fine as an only dog or with a well matched neutered male - similar to her size and play style. She prefers a dog that she can run around with for a few minutes then she likes to hang outside and sunbathe (on cooler days). She doesn't like a dog that is too overwhelming with excitement or that inappropriately invades her space.   Tesla will do best with a confident handler that is calm, consistent and provides guidance. She can be visually excited on walks, but she redirects easy with verbal or treat praise. She may need a few reminders to walk with manners, and once she knows you're not going to allow her to pull with excitement, she walks wonderfully. She is very smart, occasionally stubborn, but when you follow through with what you ask her to do, she is respectful and eager to please. She is food motivated and knows basic commands (sit, down & come) and waits patiently for her meals.   Tes has been observed with children twice and did well. Older children (8+) probably better than youngsters since she is larger and easily excitable. In previous foster homes, she has done ok with confident "dog-friendly" cats. If a kitty is shy and runs, the chase may be too fun. Slow and appropriate kitty introductions are highly recommended to create a successful relationship.   EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Tesla was picked up as a stray by animal control after she was hit by car. She had a fractured pelvis that was able to heal on its own. She has been waiting over a year to find a home to call her own, please consider meeting her! She would love to meet you!!   Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.    We prefer that applicants live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore prefer applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC. We will consider applicants who live further away if we  feel the home is right for this sweet girl.    INTERESTED IN ADOPTING TESLA ? Story
Shalamar is an amazing all white purebred husky. She’s 4 years old. She’s (mostly) house broken, and fully crate trained. She needs a home with a very active family and plenty of space to run outside. She’s great with kids and other dogs. We have a cat who she gets along with perfectly. We’re re-homing shalamar due to her separation anxiety. When we leave, she gets nervous and has torn apart some household items. We unfortunately don’t have the time or means to train her to break the separation issues. Outside of that, she’s a dream of a dog who loves belly rubs, licking and cuddles. Adoption fee is to ensure she goes to a loving home that cares about her. Fee can be discussed for the right forever home.
