Story
**Meet Schmidt, the Husky Mix!** Looking for a dog with impeccable taste? Meet Schmidt, the dapper husky mix who's ready to bring style, charm, and just a *touch* of drama into your life! Inspired by the one and only Schmidt from *New Girl*, this handsome pup is all about the finer things in life-whether it's the best spot on the couch or the fanciest treats you have to offer. Like his human counterpart, Schmidt has a ton of energy and can be a bit of a perfectionist. He'll follow you around to make sure everything's just right, and he may even insist on having his toys arranged in a *very* specific way. But once he's satisfied, he'll happily curl up with you for some serious cuddle time-he's a lover at heart, after all! If you're looking for a dog who's equal parts playful, stylish, and full of personality, Schmidt is your guy. He may expect the best, but he'll give you his best in return: loyalty, affection, and endless entertainment. Adopt Schmidt today, and get ready for a lifetime of fun, flair, and a *whole* lot of personality! Bonus: You might catch him giving the other dogs some unsolicited (but always helpful!) fashion advice!

Story
Ghost is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet and will surely steal your heart! Laid back and very well-mannered, he's the perfect man to, say, bring home to the folks. Ghost enjoys an active lifestyle, with long walks and plenty of time to sniff out the latest smells. Great in the car, he is always up for a fun ride. And a treat! https://fb.watch/rmzWnrvSZZ/?mibextid=CmRSLE Although he is gentle and likes children, Ghost would probably be best with adults. Especially those who enjoy philosophical conversations about the meaning of life! Although Ghost is inclined to wonder whether being an only dog may be the best way to live, he is drawn to gentle female dogs and could likely live happily with another dog. Ghost's accomplishments are many. He takes treats gently and will not jump up on you. He is great on a leash, is house-trained and crate-trained, and will go into the crate upon request and sleeps overnight there without a sound. He has his silly, zoomy moments, like when chasing after his favorite toy he runs around the room. Very smart, Ghost would enjoy being mentally stimulated as well, and we encourage future partners to read up on some of the activities and training that will delight a dog like Ghost. Huskies are an inquisitive and active breed who can . . . um . . . pursue the wide world on their own if inadvertently given the opportunity. A large yard with a 6-foot privacy fence and time spent with fun games will help keep him well entertained and contained. This gorgeous dog will surely make some lucky family a wonderful, loving companion! HEALTH Ghost is up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. HISTORY Ghost was found as a stray. His owners were located and contacted but did not want him back. Luckily, one of IAR's fosters intervened and brought him into the program! PHYSICAL Ghost is white with golden highlights on his ears, neck and down his back. His fluffy white tail often curls over his back.

Story
Star is playful, affectionate, intelligent, and energetic. He has expressive eyes and a sweetly mischievous disposition. He is always looking to learn or play, and he loves to work on new skills and tricks -- and to show them off! He melts into cuddles and belly rubs. He may look regal when running or bounding along -- but as soon as you get to know him his playful and silly spirit, and his eagerness to please, shine through and are what really define his personality. He has a quizzical face tilt to rival all others! Star's best day would include an opportunity for one or two long walks or runs, a chance to practice some of his new tricks, and lots of snuggles and belly rubs to let him know what a good boy he is! Star will thrive in a place where he can be a single pet or where there is a very established dog to help show him the ropes. As a very intelligent "working dog" Star needs to have a job, and training/learning is a great challenge to stimulate him. Star has been going to weekly training classes-and he is a STAR. HISTORY Star was adopted as a puppy from IAR but his owner passed away. PHYSICAL Star is very graceful and the first thing you notice about him is his gorgeous marking and bright eyes. HEALTH Star is up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered.

Story
This is Jasper. He is a very active, very loving husky. He’s cared for by our entire family and does well with our three-year-old. On Walks we encounter, multiple dogs with no issues. Jasper has been around multiple kids, but not many dogs.. He loves to run, play ball, and fetch. Once you expend Jasper‘s energy, he is calm. Like many huskies he is very busy and can be dominant. My ambition for Jasper here is to find loving family with a fenced yard, big enough for him to be able to run and play as often as he’d like with children, and possibly another dog. He loves to be cuddled and have his belly rubbed.

Story
Hello! My name is Mr. Worldwide! I came into the shelter as a stray so not much is known about me. I did very well on my intake exam and enjoyed eating many yummy treats. I deserve a great furever home! I will do best in a home without access to small animals and livestock. Caution should always be taken when introducing me to small animals. Like many dogs in NC, I am currently heartworm positive. OCAS will be helping by beginning my treatment but you`ll need to follow up with your veterinarian! During treatment I will be on an oral medication and will need to get a topical solution monthly until I have a Negative Heartworm Test. If you have any questions about this please ask to speak with a member of the medical staff.

Story
Hi! My name is Rocky. I am a very sweet boy with lots of energy and I love to talk. When I arrived at the shelter my owner mentioned to the staff that I have had a couple incidents with livestock and small animals as huskies typically do. This is not abnormal for huskies; huskies have a very high prey drive. Please keep in my that if you are adopting, I should NOT be housed with small animals such as cats and should not be able to encounter livestock whether it be yours or your lovely neighbors.
