Story
Coco is a very sweet and loving girl, we have had her since July ‘24. We originally got her from lc4 as she was on the kill list. We love her dearly, and she’s always been so full of personality! She’s a total lover girl, tons of kisses and loves to cuddle! She loves to be outside, i’ve taken her on hikes and she’s even spent lots of time on the boat these past 2 summers. She also can be an escape artist, but a tie out fixed that instantly. October last year she injured one of our cats. We have been keeping them separate since.I’ve spent over a $1k in training and plenty of time/effort. but unfortunately she just can’t be corrected. We are heartbroken that she can’t stay with us forever but the quality of life for both her & the cats just isn’t there, i’d love for her to go to a home where she be loved as we love her. Unfortunately if we can’t find her a home, behavioral euthanasia is the next step.

When he first arrived, I thought he was much older and that he would be a hospice case. He was stiff and frozen in fear and skinny. He would barely move. I put him in a kennel with younger dogs and he soon found his youthful spirit again and is like a different dog now. I don't know his age for sure but he has lots of life and happiness left in him and I think he is younger than 8. He weighs about 60 lbs now. He learned how to climb out of the 6 ft chain link kennel but he doesn't stray far from it except to follow me on walks. He goes down the pond to take a dip but mostly just hangs out by the kennel. So while he has the skills of a husky to escape, he doesn't have the urge of a husky to run off and go explore. I don't even put him up when I leave because he doesn't go anywhere. He is great with other dogs but sometimes doesn't know how big he is so he wouldn't be good around scared little dogs. Not because he would hurt them, but because they might get scared of him. He is fine with my chihuahuas but they are very bossy and not scared of anything. For that reason, I also don't think he should be around cats. To be clear, he is not aggressive at all, he just tries to play with everything and with his size that just wouldn't work with a dog or cats that's scared of him. He is very food motivated and walks well on the leash as well. He is an awesome boy and I am glad he didn't die at the kill shelter. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative). Story
Remmy was taken over from an elderly family member living in an apartment. He is an energetic almost one year old puppy. He is good with other dogs and loves to run and play. He knows simple commands and we continue to work with him on them for consistency. He is good with kids and is high energy. Unfortunately we have to find him a new home as soon as possible due to illness in our family. He is due for his last round of shots.

She is currently heartworm positive and will be undergoing treatment, but with the right family by her side, she’ll come through just fine. This little mystery pup is full of love, loyalty, and spunk—Arwen can’t wait to find her forever family who will help her shine!
