Story
Meet Rocky. Saved from an overcrowded shelter in southern OH. A great dog. Rocky appears to maybe a Husky/Shepherd mix. He is about 2 years old and 50 lbs. Rocky appears to be dog friendly. We think he may do best in a cat free home. Rocky has been in a kennel way too long and is craving a home setting. He is a wonderful, friendly dog. He will need regular exercise and would be great as a jogging partner. Rocky is neutered, up to date on vaccines and is heart worm negative. He did test positive for Lyme but has no clinical signs. He is in doxycycline for a month as a precaution but no further treatment will be needed. His adoption fee is $180. If interested in Rocky, please email hartmanshounds@gmail.com. August 23, 2025, 11:03 am

Story
Meet Ghost!! Ghost is approximately 2 years old. He is a beautiful Siberian Husky weighing 40 lbs. Ghost was found as a stray. Love-A-Stray had him neutered, vaccinated and microchipped at the Avon Lake Animal Clinic. Ghost's foster said he is really a wonderful dog! He is housebroken and knows a few basic commands. His foster has offered to take Ghost to obedience training, and he will be evaluated with other dogs as well. Stay tuned for updates. Ghost has dark ice-blue eyes, and he often looks like he is smiling when taking a walk--he LOVES to go for trail walks and does well on lead. Ghost also loves to ride in the car. He is a pleaser and thrives on praise and is very trainable. We always suggest adopters are familiar with the Husky. A fenced in yard is preferred for this active breed and a really good vacuum cleaner since they do shed LOL. If you are interested in Ghost, please submit an online application so we can learn a little about you to make sure Ghost would be a good match for you and your family. We do not do out of state adoptions, due to our trial adoption process. Adoption fee/donation is $.200.00 If you have specific questions, please email the adoption coordinator at info@loveastraydog.com If you can't foster or adopt, please consider donating to help us with medical expenses and ongoing care. You can mail your donation to: Love-A-Stray, P.O. Box 125, Attn: Ghost, Avon Lake, OH 44012 or visit www.loveastraydog.com for credit card/PayPal information, adoption application, available dogs and upcoming events. Thank you!

Story
I acquired Jasper when he was 8 weeks old. He is currently 7 years old. He's been my best friend through late teenage years to young adulthood and he truly is a loving companion. He is very affectionate, absolutely is a sucker for pets any time, and will literally throw himself at you if he wants your attention. He's not extremely vocal, but he's also not super quiet. I say this because I've seen huskies that can be way more noisy than him but he does have the potential to express his sassiness when he wants to. He enjoys long walks and places he can run around in and explore. He knows basic commands like: sit, paw, speak, lay down, and come here. I am looking for a home for him that preferably has a yard and room for him to roam around. I would love for him to be adopted by people who have experience with owning animals and will have enough time and patience for him. He is also epileptic and has been since the age of 3, but does not have seizures very often.

Story
Meet Tundra! This beautiful petite husky is 6 years and 36 lbs. Stunning is an understatement! Tundra is aptly named - her coat is white and black with some maple color on her tail. Tundra was a mill momma for many years but not any more. Tundra is fixed now and ready for life as a cherished pet! Pictures make Tundra look bigger than she is when you see her in person. Tundra is shy but learning how to be a dog by being exposed to many new things in life! She's progressing well. Tundra walks well on leash, and we have dog-tested her with another female TRI dog, Daphne, who is also on the passive side. They did well together. Tundra would like a foster home or adoptive home for the holidays! Story
I adopted Chevie in 2020 and he’s been a great dog for over 5 years. He is very friendly, playful, attentive, intelligent and has an overall great personality. With adult humans and most older children he has little to no issues, but unsure how he can interact with young children (1-5 years old) at the moment. When it comes to other dogs he can go to daycare and have no issues whatsoever, but on walks he can be reactive to certain dogs. Chevie is high energy, and because of that due to new lifestyle changes I’m currently unable to give him the life he deserves which is why I’m looking for a new home for him. I think if you have the ability to cater to his high energy needs and give him the ability to play in a yard or nearby park to get that energy out he will be an amazing dog for you/your family. I would caution making sure he can interact with children just to be sure. But overall, he would be a great addition to any home who can love him and play with him the way he deserves.
