Story
Meet Halie 💙❄️Halie is a beautiful 2-year-old girl with a sweet soul and a love for the great outdoors. She’s very affectionate with people and enjoys soaking up attention from her humans. Playing outside is one of her favorite things—she’s happiest when she has room to explore, run, and enjoy fresh air.Halie does very well with cats, making her a great option for a home with feline friends. However, she is selective with all her canine friends so she may not be the best fit for a home with other dogs. She is up to date on all core vaccines and monthly preventatives, so she’s ready to start her next chapter right away.If you’re looking for a loyal, sweet companion who enjoys outdoor fun and a loving home, Halie could be the perfect match. 🐾💙📞 Interested in adopting or want to learn more? Story
Vans is a 1.5-year-old Husky who just strutted into the shelter and instantly stole the spotlight! With her striking light blue eyes and gorgeous looks, she’s impossible to miss—but her personality is what really makes her shine. True to typical husky fashion, Vans is fun, energetic, and full of life. She’s playful, curious, and always ready for her next adventure. On top of all that sass and spirit, she’s also super sweet and loves people. She’s the kind of dog who will keep you laughing, moving, and feeling loved every single day. Vans would thrive in a home that understands huskies—plenty of exercise, mental enrichment, and a sense of humor required! If you’re looking for a beautiful, fun-loving companion with endless charm (and those unforgettable blue eyes), Vans is ready to meet you!If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24 Petwatch microchipping- flea treatment/preventative- spaying or neutering-heartworm testingAdoption fee: $135.00Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2025 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older. **WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Derringer. I'm 1 year old and I weigh about 55 lbs. I was surrendered to the pound after multiple incidents of me and the other dogs I lived with running at large and causing issues in our neighborhood. We are all good dogs, but we haven't been well trained, so we will need a little work on things like basic recall and basic commands. We were all house dogs and we appear to be housebroken. We do well with most other dogs, but definitely will need a families without cats as we do not do well with them. We all love to play and we are super good dogs once we have had our exercise. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
Top of the mornin' to ya! It's me Mullen, the most pleasant lad you'll ever meet! You don't hear about many Irish Siberian Huskies now do ya? But, here I am! With my ginger-red coat I am the talk of the town, however, I can only be adopted in my town because I am kind of an anxious kind of fellow. I love other dogs and must be adopted with another calm/confident dog please. My new owners need to be patient and great at building confidence in me, as I never was loved on as a pup so I am still nervous with new people and in new situations. However, I am very smart and learn quickly!! Some basic information about Mullen; he is male, Siberian Husky mix, and expected to be medium-sized (20-59lbs). Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Helene means “shining light”. Helene, as adult husky/shepherd mix exemplifies this with humor & intelligence shining in her 2 different colored eyes. Helene loves to play with toys and other dogs. She will lick & nuzzle with stationary cats, but will chase them if they run. She is a wonderful cuddler, smiles a lot, & is oh, so happy. The more comfortable she is in her home, the more frequently the husky “talk” comes out! 😂 - Especially if it is smack talk disagreeing with not getting an additional treat. Helene would be great as a solo dog or as a companion dog to an existing “pack.” Can she be part of your family? Attributes: Cat safe with supervision Active household Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
