Story
Rocket is a 60-lb Husky mix who is a smart, affectionate, and energetic dog. He is highly trainable and loves attention and activity. The majority of the time he is a loving, fun companion who enjoys being part of the family. He was a rescue from Texas and we have had him for about 5 months. Unfortunately we were misled by the prior rescue as he is not good with cats and has a hard time regulating himself around other dogs and cannot shut off his energy. He exhibits jealousy and possessive behavior, particularly when attention is given to other dogs. While he generally coexists with our other dogs and kids, these incidents have continued despite training efforts. We love Rocket and this has been heartbreaking, but we believe Rocket would do best as the only pet in a home, ideally with an experienced owner who understands high-energy, strong-willed breeds and can provide consistent structure, training, and space to run. He is fully housebroken and crate trained.

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. ___ Meet Celine Dion – a stunning 4-year-old Greyhound/Lab mix with a personality as big as her name! Weighing in around 58 pounds, Celine was rescued from the euthanasia list at a Houston shelter and has been thriving ever since in her loving foster home in North Carolina. She’s spayed, healthy, and available for out-of-state adoption once matched with an approved adopter—transport can be arranged to bring this superstar home to you! Celine is joyful, curious, and always ready for fun. She brings a playful spark wherever she goes—whether it’s romping in the yard with dog friends, chasing her favorite toy, or exploring new places. Her ideal playmates are other large dogs who enjoy an energetic buddy and don’t mind a little bounce in their step. She’d also be perfectly happy as the center of attention in a home where she can get plenty of activity and enrichment. This sweet girl is making great strides with her leash manners and training. She’s crate trained, housebroken, and settles quickly after an initial burst of excitement when it’s time for a walk. She’s eager to please and motivated by treats, which makes her a fun and responsive learner. Celine adores people and has done wonderfully around her foster’s 12-year-old child. She gets so excited to say hello that she sometimes forgets her size—but she’s learning to greet people more gently and is improving every day. Because of her enthusiasm, we recommend a home with kids over 10 who are comfortable around playful, happy dogs. She’s respectful with toys and food, shows no guarding behavior, and enjoys being near her humans for affection, praise, and snuggles. In the car, she may pant at first, but she’s gaining confidence with each ride—and a few more adventures will help her become a travel pro. Celine would thrive in an active home with room to stretch her legs, regular walks, and loving guidance to help her keep growing into her best self. Whether she’s your one-and-only or joins a friendly pack, she’s ready to fill your days with laughter, companionship, and love. Ready to be serenaded daily with joy and tail wags? Celine Dion is waiting to steal your heart. ___ ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org ✨🐾 Meet Amira — Still Waiting for Her Once-in-a-Lifetime Person 🐾✨ Female • Husky • ~2 Years • ~45 lbs Amira has been patient. - Patient while raising her babies. - Patient while watching other dogs find their homes. - Patient while waiting for her turn — her person, her family, her moment to finally be someone’s everything. Now it’s her time, her time to just breathe, her time to shine, her time to be the center of your universe. At around 2 years old and 45 pounds, Amira is the perfect mix of sweetness and spirit. She carries herself with quiet confidence, soft eyes, and that unmistakable Husky sparkle that says, “Life is an adventure… and I’d really like to share it with you.” She’s affectionate, friendly, and wonderfully balanced. She enjoys playtime and outdoor activity, but she also appreciates calm connection — the kind where she can simply sit beside you and feel safe, chosen, and home. Amira is great with kids and other dogs, bringing a steady, reassuring presence wherever she goes. Cats are still unknown, but with thoughtful introductions, she may do just fine. Now, because she is a Husky, let’s sprinkle in just a dash of reality: this girl is athletic and clever. Fences are more like “suggestions” in her world. She’ll thrive in a home committed to leash walks, secure outings, and including her in adventures rather than leaving her to entertain herself. She doesn’t want to run away — she wants to run with you. And truly, that’s what she wants most — to be with her person. After spending her early adulthood caring for others, she’s ready to be cared for. Ready for long walks, silly moments, cozy evenings, and the simple joy of belonging. She deserves a home where she’s not just a dog in the yard — but a cherished companion in the heart of the family. Amira isn’t loud about her wishes. She doesn’t demand attention. She just waits, hopeful, for someone to see her and say, “That’s my girl.” If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, adventure-ready best friend who will meet you at every sunrise and settle beside you at every sunset, Amira is ready. She’s been patient long enough. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and give this sweet girl the forever she’s been quietly dreaming of. 💙🐾

Story
Meet Arno! Arno is 3 years old and came to us as an owner surrender after being found as a stray. He is a very sweet pup who loves attention once he is comfortable with you. He is higher energy and loves to play - but could benefit from continued positive reinforcement training in the home to help him with basic manners and loose leash walking. He could live with children 6 years or older as long as they are dog savvy and okay with a higher energy bigger pup. Arno could also live with feline friends and another dog pending a successful meet and greet. Are you interested in this sweet boy? Story
Top of the mornin' to ya! It's me Mullen, the most pleasant lad you'll ever meet! You don't hear about many Irish Siberian Huskies now do ya? But, here I am! With my ginger-red coat I am the talk of the town, however, I can only be adopted in my town because I am kind of an anxious kind of fellow. I love other dogs and must be adopted with another calm/confident dog please. My new owners need to be patient and great at building confidence in me, as I never was loved on as a pup so I am still nervous with new people and in new situations. However, I am very smart and learn quickly!! Some basic information about Mullen; he is male, Siberian Husky mix, and expected to be medium-sized (20-59lbs). Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

These pups are in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania too!

Story
Hi there, I’m Anna!I’m a 3-year-old brown and white Alaskan Malamute with a bubbly spirit and the sweetest heart you’ll ever meet. My first few years weren’t exactly what you’d call a typical doggy life, but thankfully I was given a second chance when I came to the shelter. Now I’m dreaming of something I’ve never truly had before- a real home, with a real family to call my own. When I first arrived, I was pretty shy and unsure of the world around me. Everything felt big and new. But thanks to the love and patience of the staff and volunteers here, I’ve really blossomed. Once I feel comfortable, my joyful personality shines bright! I have a happy energy that tends to make people smile, and I love forming special bonds with “my people.”I’m looking for a family who’s excited to welcome an affectionate, loyal companion into their lives. If you’re hoping for a dog who will greet you with enthusiasm, stick by your side, and fill your home with warmth and happiness, I might just be your girl. The staff here think I would do best as the only pet in a teen-and-up household. I’ve enjoyed playgroup here at the shelter, but I can be protective of my food and some of my belongings, so having my very own space (and being your one and only!) would help me feel safe and secure.Because I didn’t have much structure early on, I’m still polishing up some basics like loose-leash walking and obedience skills. The good news? I’m smart, eager to learn, and would love the chance to train with you. It would be such a fun way for us to bond and grow together and help me become the very best companion I can be.More than anything, I’m ready to leave my past behind and start my next chapter- one filled with love, patience, and lots of cozy moments. Could that be with you? Come and meet me today!!If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog`s better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict. The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies
