**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Piper. I'm about 5 years old and I weigh about 58 lbs. I was surrendered to the pound, along with my friends Lilly and Mya, through no fault of our own. I am now looking for a loving new family to join. I am a very sweet and affectionate girl. I love people and I get along well with other dogs. I will likely need some work with potty training as our living situation wasn't the best recently. I do a good job keeping my kennel clean at night, so crate training would be a great tool to help me get back on track with potty habits. If you're looking for a great dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
This petite blue eyed lady is Luna! Luna is a 4 year old female Siberian Husky who is in need of an active home with a family that will love her until the end of her days! Luna weighs in at about 41 pounds currently - just a perfect girlie husky size!Luna is house trained (remember, it may take a little while for her to learn her new place, new rules, new people! Accidents happen!), crate trained, great with kids (even small ones), great with other dogs (has lived with her brother and a few others as well) and has manners in the house...usually...mostly...huskies can sometimes have their own version of manners but for the most part, this girl exceeds expectations. Luna can be a little shy initially - she is less outgoing than her brother Rufus, but just needs a little time and individual attention to shine like a diamond. She just lacks a little confidence - but this smart lovely girl is going to blossom with the right forever home.Luna is an active happy husky more than anything else. She is NOT a couch potato. Breed experience is definitely a plus when it comes to Sibes, but she is most certainly not a `first dog` kinda girl. Dog experience of any sort will be given preference. She needs a new person (or people) who are all in on making sure that she has all she needs to thrive. This means lots of walks and hikes, maybe some adventures in general! She would be best with a securely fenced in yard, with the understanding that she won`t really exercise herself - she needs her people to help her out with that both mentally and physically! Luna ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT EXCEPTION WILL NOT BE PLACED WITH CATS. This means both indoor and outdoor. She has proven that cats are just too much for her to tolerate, and we will not see her put in that position - so a dedicated to be cat free home is a necessity.

Story
This most handsome of handsome fellas is RUFUS! Rufus is a 4 year old male Siberian Husky who is in need of a happily ever after. This boy currently weighs in at about 66 pounds, but truth be told, would be better at around 56 pounds (shhhhh, do NOT tell him we wrote that!). Rufus is house trained (always take this with a grain of salt, sometimes accidents happen in new homes!), crate trained, great with kids (even small ones), good with other dogs (he lived with his sister and a couple of others for good measure), and has house manners...for the most part. Like, as much as any husky has house manners (if you know you know!). Okay - house manners more often than not! He is outgoing and friendly, isn`t sure what a `stranger` is, and pretty jolly over all! Rufus is an active husky boy and is looking for an active `husky` home. While breed experience is a bonus, he definitely needs a dog savvy home. As a general rule, huskies do not make great dogs for first time dog owners, and knowledge of this breed is a MUST regardless. Do your research! He will need plenty of exercise and would be best with a securely fenced in yard. Though even WITH a fenced yard, his new people must be dedicated to exercising him through play, walks, hikes, classes, etc. There is a reason they utilize these dogs to pull sleds - they are built for just that, and pretty darn good at it too! Rufus ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT EXCEPTION will not be placed in a home with indoor or outdoor cats. He is NOT good with cats and we will NOT put him in that position for all the money in the world. He must be in a completely cat free home.

Application Link: https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/ARH-A-20 Adoption Fee: $310 All dogs are fixed, up-to-date on age appropriate shots and micro-chipped. What a loyal girl. Soki is about 3 years old, about 65lbs, and a husky boxer mix. She is slow to trust but once she does, you will have a dog that loves you like no other. She is a queen and with that comes some sass from her husky heritage. She can carry on a conversation and loves to sit on the dining table chairs when doing so. I have had many dogs doing rescue and none can match her personality or devotion. She is not the best with cats and can be dog selective. Does not do well with bossy dogs.
