Story
Hey! Do you have previous husky experience? Meet me! I'm Prince! I might not live in a castle anymore, but I sure hope I do one day. At 8 years old, I've had a lot of experiences in life and I'm ready to have a few more! I walk well on a harness and love to meet new people. However, when it comes to other dogs, no thank you! I may sometimes get a little bit TOO excited or anxious but I am easily redirected with treats or stuffies. As an older lad, I've got some health concerns with my joints, my teeth and my ears. I was diagnosed with Lyme disease but as of now I have no symptoms! The medical staff taking care of me would be happy to talk to you about all my quirks before adopting. Come say hello to royalty and take me home today! Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh Northside- 1101 Western Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15233 Kennel License #- 1121

Story
Roll out the red carpet! It's Ice King! Ice King came to us when his owner could no longer care for him. Ice King is an incredibly photogenic and handsome mix breed, his previous owners did lots of training with him so he even knows sit, paw, and sometimes (if he's feeling like it) down. If you're interested in adopting Ice King, there's some things we should talk about! Ice King is a strong, intelligent, active dog and would absolutely thrive in a home with adults who are willing to do positive reinforcement training with him and let him decompress from his time at the shelter. King has gone to doggy daycares in the past, but we aren't sure if that means that he would like to live full time with a canine companion. Ideally, he would go to a home without children as his needs would be best met and managed by adults only. If you're interested in learning more about King and figuring out if he's the right fit for your home stop down at our East location to get more info! He is 9 years old, not neutered, house trained, 50 lbs, half husky, half German Shepard. He loves treats and car rides. Bailey was my mother's dog and she passed away last year. I've been taking care of him but I would prefer he be in a home that he could play in and get more attention.

Story
Top of the mornin' to ya! It's me Mullen, the most pleasant lad you'll ever meet! You don't hear about many Irish Siberian Huskies now do ya? But, here I am! With my ginger-red coat I am the talk of the town, however, I can only be adopted in my town because I am kind of an anxious kind of fellow. I love other dogs and must be adopted with another calm/confident dog please. My new owners need to be patient and great at building confidence in me, as I never was loved on as a pup so I am still nervous with new people and in new situations. However, I am very smart and learn quickly!! Some basic information about Mullen; he is male, Siberian Husky mix, and expected to be medium-sized (20-59lbs). Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
You remember the 80's, the car named Kit?? Had David Hasselhoff as his driver and sure had a lot of fun and adventures :) I kind of LOOK like David Hasselhoff (if I do say so myself) and I am SMARTER than the car, Kit!! Again, if I do say so myself :D So, speaking of cars.... i was run over by one (or maybe it was a truck :( I don't remember, all I know is I ended up in a bad way and at the pound. Both my back legs broken and my hip was dislocated as well. That is how the rescue found me, my beautiful David Hasselhoff eyes pled through the sad photo and the rescue chick said, "uh, yes, lets save sweet boy". And that is how my life BEGAN again! I have had my hip surgery, called an FHO, and that was on my GOOD LEG!!! But as God would smile His favor on me, my other leg started HEALING WELL while I recovered from the surgery! Therefore I did not have to have my other leg amputated!! As a pup, the ability of my body to heal is amazing! So, here I am! Ready for adoption! I do have a hitch in my giddyup, but really nothing compared to how I was after the accident. I am a SURVIVOR!! His foster mom states, " Kit is an amazing pup, smart and determined! He taught himself the doggy door in one day, is good with the kitties, great with all other dogs and all people. He will be missed in his foster home, he has the determination of a tough pup and the sweet love of a spoiled pup :) Whoever adopts him will have a great companion!" AdOPT the BROKEN pups, THEY WILL LOVE YOU EVEN MORE!!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Clifford. is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. Clifford was dumped on the side of a rural road with a litter of puppies. They were rescued by good Samaritans. Clifford is a super wonderful dog. He is very sweet, gentle, and good-natured. He is super sensitive and scared of mean voices, rough treatment, and dogs that are mean to him. He needs to be treated gently so he will trust you. Once he trusts you or another dog, he is very playful and loves playing. He especially loves puppies and gentle children. Clifford has shown an interest in cats, so he may not be good with them. Clifford is mostly Chow. He weighs around 60 pounds and we estimate he may be around 2 years old. Clifford is crate-trained, knows how to sit, and walks well on a leash. He rides well in a vehicle but is a bit nervous about getting inside the vehicle. Clifford is fabulous with nice children. He is shy with new people (especially men) and takes some time to trust. We are sure he was abused by whoever had him before. Clifford does need work with housetraining (sure he has never been in a house before) and could probably use other gentle obedience training. We want Clifford to be in the house as a loved member of the family. He needs to be walked on a leash and would like a securely fenced yard to run and play. Clifford is healthy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Clifford has been treated for heartworms and they are now dead. He is on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Clifford's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport to the Pittsburgh area. Clifford is being fostered in Texas and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Story
I’ve had Kenai since she was a puppy. She’s 4 years old. She’s a great dog and loves to meet new people! I’m relocating for work and don’t want her cooped up in an apartment. She loves to be outside and go on walks so would love if her new home has a yard for her to enjoy!
