Story
🐾💙 Meet Mondo 💙🐾 Estimated date of birth: 9/27/23 Mondo is a sweet, sensitive soul who has been through more than any dog ever should — and it shows not in bad behavior, but in fear of being left behind. 💔 Found dumped in a field and moved around far too much, Mondo’s biggest struggle is separation anxiety. He’s terrified of losing his people again, and his heart just wants reassurance that this time is forever. Mondo is well-behaved in the house and doesn’t need to be crated when someone is home. Crates actually increase his anxiety — he will bark nonstop, try to break out, and panic if confined. When left alone, he may tear things up because he’s scared, not naughty. A home where someone is around often, or willing to work patiently with him, would be ideal. 🏡 He is house trained, neutered, and up to date on all vaccinations. Mondo is usually good with other dogs, though a meet-and-greet is best, as he may growl at times while getting comfortable. He does great with cats and largely ignores them, and he’s good with kids, though he would likely do best with older children due to his anxiety and need for calm reassurance. A fenced-in yard is preferred, as Mondo can be nervous coming inside if someone is standing too close to the door. Once he feels safe, though, his true personality shines. ✨ He will follow his person from room to room, lay his head on you, gently offer a paw when he wants affection, and quietly curl up at the end of the bed at night. If you step into another room, he’ll wait patiently by the door, watching and making sure you don’t disappear. 🥺💕 Mondo is also great in the car and walks nicely on a leash. He’s not a bad dog — not even close. He’s just a scared one who loves deeply and fears loss even more. Because of his past, Mondo must go to a home with patience, understanding, and commitment. Someone who won’t give up on him or bring him back. Being moved and returned affects him deeply, and he deserves a family who will stand by him and show him that forever really means forever. 💙 If you’re willing to give Mondo time, stability, and love, you’ll gain a loyal companion whose entire world will revolve around you. He’s been waiting so long for someone to choose him — and stay. 🐾💙
