Hi. I`m Freyja!! I am a sweet girl looking for a human companion I can call my best friend. I have beautiful icy blue eyes that will melt your heart. I met a few dogs at Heartland, I tolerated being around them but I prefer not to share my things. I would do best in a single-dog home with adults. I have lived with cats before and did ok. I`m a curvy lady and would love a home where I can get lots of exercise and a well-managed diet to help me live my best life. Come to Heartland to meet me in kennels. My adoption fee is $225.

Story
Hey! I`m Kaido! I`m a young guy that is still learning how to play and interact with those around me. I`d love someone that can go to puppy classes with me and teach me some boundaries and manners. I can be shy at first, but warm up to you after a few meets. Because I`m unsure of people still, I would probably do best in an adult household. I haven`t really been on a leash before, but that just means we can take lots of walks to practice! I love to chase toys and run around the yard, but I`m still learning how to play. Maybe we can find a good toy to play with together? I`ve also met some other dogs, but I should definitely meet any dogs that might be in the home with you. Because I like to chase, I have a prey drive that might make living with cats difficult. If you think you could want a fun, loving puppy to train and go hiking with, sign me up!

Story
Hello future family! My name is Nina, and I’m a 13-year-old Husky and Alaskan Shepherd mix with a beautiful black-and-tan coat. I might be a senior, but I still have so much love to give. I’m looking for a quiet, comfy forever home where I can enjoy life at a relaxed pace. I’d be the perfect companion for an older, retired stay-at-home person or couple who enjoys calm days. I love to snooze at your feet, soak up the sunshine in the yard, and be pampered with brushing sessions. Despite my Husky heritage, I’m not aloof—I adore people and thrive on attention. I do have some arthritis, so stairs can be a challenge. That said, I’m still up for a nice walk on a leash—I can even go a mile or more if we take it slow! At home, I’m crate-trained, housetrained, and very well-mannered. I can sleep in a crate if needed, but a soft bed near you would make me happiest. I need a fenced yard because I get curious and might wander off to explore. I don’t do well with cats or small animals like chickens, but I’m good with kids and love a calm environment. I’m currently in a foster home after being transferred from a humane shelter, and my foster family says I’m a true gem. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion, I’d love to meet you and start our new adventure together! Love, Nina

Though he’s a little older, Goldie has the heart of a pup and the spirit of an explorer. He’s a very sweet boy, calm and mellow in his kennel or while visiting offices, but when he sees that leash, his excitement is palpable! Goldie does tend to pull on leash when he’s ready for his next adventure.Goldie has attended both Play Groups and Doggy Day Out Adventures, and while he does well in some Play Group combinations, he’s definitely more of a human-focused guy. He loves getting attention from his people and enjoys spending time with them. On his Doggy Day Out Adventures, Goldie has interacted with children, gone on hikes, and even enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at a dog-friendly patio for lunch. If you’re looking for an older dog who still has plenty of pep in his step and is excited to be active with you, Goldie is the one for you! He’s ready for a loving family to share his adventures with. Come meet this sweet boy today—he’s sure to steal your heart!

Adoption fee: $300Weight: 72.8lbsArrival Date: 11/22/24Microchip #: 941010002284719Hi! I’m Monte and I’m a Husky! And just in case you couldn’t tell by my face that I’m a Husky, I’ll sing you the song of my Husky people, because I’m a Husky. I like treats and longs walks and to be brushed and to be petted and to chill out with you while we watch a movie while we share popcorn & laugh at the same corny line and later when we hear that line in public, we’ll look at each other with raised eyebrows and then we’ll giggle and people will say “What’s so funny?” and you’ll say, “Oh, you wouldn’t get it. You had to be there”. But they weren’t there, because I’m your best friend and a Husky. My mom was probably a Husky. Are you looking to have a Husky in your life? I’m a Husky! I’m also a really awesome dog.I`m currently in a foster home so I can have a small break from the shelter environment (I`ve been here WAY too long). If you`d like to meet me please email fostercare@safehavenhumane.com. I can`t wait to see you!
