Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Kenai is 3 years old and we got her when she was 8 weeks. She is adorable and so sweet, but she needs a lot of extra attention and training that I am unable to give her at this time. We did find out that she has sutural cataracts which affects her vision. She can still see but cannot distinguish people she knows from strangers if they aren’t close enough or talking to her. She needs a home with a large fenced yard so she can have plenty of room to run and get her energy out. I know that her behavior issues would be corrected if she were given enough exercise, stimulation, and attention which I unfortunately am not able to provide in my current circumstances. It is not fair to her to not have those things on a regular basis.

Story
REPORTED BY FORMER OWNER:Norman is an inside/outside dog that is not house trained. He walks pretty well on the leash, but needs help learning basic obedience commands. He previously lived with several dogs, cats and children over age 10 did well with them. He is not a fan of car rides and needs to be fed separately from other animals. He likes to play fetch!OBSERVED BY SHELTER STAFF: Norman is a shy fellow here at the shelter. Shelter life is hard for him and the sooner he can get adopted, the better for him. He’s treat-motivated and is a bit grabby when taking them from your hand. Caution should be used if there are children present with food. He has lots of energy and is very sweet. He takes a little time to warm up to people, but when he does, he wants to be a lap dog and will give you hugs. Weighs 34 pounds; $50 to adopt.

Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Spayed or Neutered,
Story
REPORTED BY FORMER OWNER: Stanley is house trained and knows the sit and stay commands. Being a Husky, he needs practice not pulling on the leash when going for walks. Stanley does have an umbilical hernia, which may need repair in the future. Although he is picky about his doggy friends, he did live with a Golden Retriever and they got along well. He enjoys playing with toys and playing fetch. OBSERVED BY SHELTER STAFF: Stanley was brought in as a quarantine/owner surrender due to getting into a scuffle with a dog unknown to him while on a hike. The bite was to the owner’s left leg/knee and no medical attention was sought. A bite disclosure will need to be signed upon adoption. It is possible Stanley could live with another dog, but a meet and greet first would be recommended. He appears neutral toward cats. He’s a shy fellow, but once he gets to know you, he’s very sweet. He could live with older, dog-savvy children. He’s very nervous/scared here and the sooner he can find a home, the better. Weighs 65 pounds; $25 to adopt.

Story
Suno is an energetic, social dog who is sweet & excitable. He has issues jumping/barking but is generally well behaved. He needs lots of exercise/space to run. Once settled, he’s affectionate & cuddly. He’s lived with farm animals & has been primarily an outdoor dog. Suno responds to sit/lay down, but struggles with come & stay. He's not off leash-trained & may run off, but always finds his way home if we’ve been unable to locate him. He’s an escape artist & will try to find a way out if he’s bored. Ideally, he should go to a home with experienced dog owners who can provide the exercise & attention he needs, preferably with other dogs. It is important these requirements are met. Due to scheduling & income I’ve been unable to care for him adequately. If his energy level/care requirements become too much I ask he be returned to me rather than taken to a shelter/pound, as finding him a good home is a priority. I will provide food, toys, treats, collar, & a doghouse hence the adoption fee.

Sweetest dog ever! @8 years old. We inherited him from my son and girlfriend who split up and neither could take him with. We live in a condo with a leash rule, he needs space 2 run and play, We can't give that 2 him. He doesn't bark at anything or other dogs. Has anxiety and doesn't like 2 be huged by little kids. Super sensitive stomach so absolutely no people food. He needs a home that allows room to run around and play!

Synonyms for Diva: starlet, leading lady, prima Donna, Keyana. Keyana may not have had the best start in life but this 3 year old Husky mix gal is looking for the best rest of her life. She truly just wants to be included but is definitely still working on her manners. Keyana is spayed and up to date on all vaccines. She is also house and crate trained. Story
Maverick is a 2-year-old husky mix who weighs about 45 lbs. His favorite things are squeaky toys, bones, treats, and playing with his doggie friends. He really likes to chase things, so a home with cats might not be a great fit. Maverick loves kids and would do well in a home with older, dog-savvy kids. He uses the dog door at his foster mom's house and is house and kennel trained. Maverick loves to be with you wherever you go and is he always up for adventure! Mav will do well in training classes and would be great at agility, he is very food motivated and eager to learn. This little guy is an amazing dog and will be the best buddy you could ever have! Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. Story
This beautiful husky is Calamity, and she has a personality as bright as the moon! She is an active 3 year old and is just nice as can be. When walking outside, she is easy-going, and just sometimes she will get excited by puppies, squirrels, and birds. Her fluffy tail wags with excitement whenever she meets new friends, and her expressive face is sure to make you smile every day. Though she likes meeting other dog friends, she is selective with which ones she chooses to pick as regular playmates. Calamity is house trained and quiet inside the house. When left alone, she waits patiently for her humans to return so she can welcome you home! She is also such a good girl, she is trusted to be left out in her foster home and doesn't get into any trouble. Her favorite thing is being with her people, especially if you want to go out for a run she'd gladly join you. She is still working on building up her confidence, and will sometimes get nervous when seeing big trucks or meeting new people. But all she needs is a little encouragement from her person to get over her initial shyness. Sweet Calamity is ready to shine in her forever home. Could that be yours?Dogs are not placed on a first- come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process.
