Story
Luca’s been with me since he was a 9 week old puppy. He’s so incredibly sweet and loves attention from people. He’s very smart but he’s a very high energy dog and needs a lot of regular exercise. I have a really busy schedule which means he spends a lot of time alone in our small house without a yard. Sadly that means all of his energy gets pent up and has been leading to “behavioral issues”, which I know is from not getting enough exercise. I suffer from pretty bad anxiety and don’t know how to stay calm, and remain patient when he gets hyper and doesn’t listen to me in public. I’ve tried what feels like everything to train him in the last 4 years but I think my anxiety and his high energy might just not be compatible. It breaks my heart to not be the person he needs, but he needs an extremely loving and patient home who would be willing to train him. I truly believe I’ve created anxiety in him that he now needs help in healing. Please contact me for more information. ❤️

Story
Chief is about 8 1/2 years old. We’ve had him for nearly 7 years. He is honestly the most amazing dog. He has definitely slowed down in the past couple years but he still loves to go skiing and hiking with us or just hangout in the backyard. We are trying to rehome him to someone who has the time and desire to be with him more often. Our family is growing and we are finding less and less time to spend with him. He has only been an outside dog with a large fenced backyard. He is extremely gentle and fun with our kids. He rarely barks and he gets along well with other people and dogs.

Story
OBSERVED BY SHELTER STAFF: Nervous with new situations. We are working on building confidence for him here at the shelter, but we are very limited with what we can do here. He would be a wonderful dog for someone that wants to have a canine buddy. Walks well on the leash. Treat motivated and curious. Once he knows you, he will follow you around at a distance. We think Nevada will blossom once he is in a home; shelter life just doesn’t agree with some of the dogs here. Nervous around cats. Friendly toward the other dogs here at the shelter. Weighs 46 pounds; $25 to adopt.

Story
OBSERVED BY SHELTER STAFF: Friendly toward people. Pulls slightly when walking on the leash and knows the sit and down commands. Very treat motivated and is an eager trick performer! Happy, bouncy boy that likes playing with toys. Can jump high; a home with a tall, secure fence would be best for him. Definitely not a dog for apartment living. Will be a lap dog if you’ll let him. Although he may chase a cat if he had the chance, he appears friendly toward the other dogs here at the shelter.Weighs 56 pounds; $25 to adopt.
