Story
Meet Quito — a stunning 1-year-old, 65-pound white husky with a heart as big as his zoomies! This high-energy boy is the perfect mix of playful, smart, and surprisingly attentive. He’s dog-friendly, was fostered with cats (and did wonderfully with them!), and he loves being part of whatever his people are up to. Quito is also a little extra special — he only has one eye. His other eye had to be removed because it wasn’t functional and caused him pain, but now he’s feeling so much better and living life to the fullest. His single-eyed wink only adds to his charm! If you’re looking for an energetic adventure buddy who’s as sweet as he is striking, Quito is your guy.

Story
Skye is a purebred husky who we took in 7 years ago for a friend at 3 months old. She is a very friendly and well-behaved dog who is fully house and also crate trained. She can be energetic and playful, enjoying walks or running in the backyard, but she is also very calm and loves to take naps or just lie down next to you. She may be shy at first, but is quick to get comfortable and is good around other dogs and also kids. Due to working in the office and having a busier working schedule, I'm unable to give her enough attention and care as I did before. I'm sad to let her go, but I'm hoping to find her a home where she can be loved and cared for as she deserves.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/ohana2023/ Hello there, My name is Ohana, and I'm a timid but loving soul searching for my forever home. Just like Nanni, I can be a little shy when it comes to meeting new people, but I've discovered something truly magical-I come alive when I'm surrounded by other dogs. You see, I've been attending dog play groups, and those furry get-togethers have been a game-changer for me. When I'm in the company of my canine companions, my confidence soars, and my true personality shines through. It's incredible how the presence of other dogs can help me open up and experience the joy of connection. I'm proud to say that I'm the proud father of two precious puppies, Janis and Jerry, who are also seeking their own loving homes. Our journey together has been a rollercoaster, and finding a family that can provide us all with the love and care we deserve would mean the world to me. In order to continue growing and thriving, I believe it would be incredibly beneficial for me to be part of a family that already has a dog. Having a furry sibling would provide me with the support and companionship I need to feel safe and secure. Together, we can navigate the world with wagging tails and an unbreakable bond. While I may start off a bit reserved, with time and patience, I promise to shower my new family with affection, loyalty, and love. I have so much potential just waiting to be discovered, and all I need is a chance to show you the incredible dog I can become. So, if you're looking for a gentle and caring companion who flourishes in the presence of other dogs, I'm your guy. Let's embark on an incredible journey together, filled with moments of growth, love, and endless wagging tails. Together, we can create a harmonious and joyful home that will make every day feel like a walk in the park. Choose me, Ohana, and let's build a bond that will last a lifetime.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/kiara2024/ ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Hi, I’m Kiara — a sweet and curious Husky mix with a soft heart and a love for sniffy adventures. I arrived at FOHA with my sister, Kita, and we’re hoping to find a forever home together. We’re bonded and help each other feel safe, so we’d truly thrive as a duo. I’m the more outgoing of the two and love high-value treats (cheese is my favorite!). I may be shy when we first meet, but with patience and kindness, I warm up and begin to show you my affectionate, playful side. I love exploring on leash, sniffing all the smells, and romping around in playgroups with other friendly dogs. I’d do best in a calm home where I can continue building my confidence with gentle people and a steady routine. Another friendly dog in the home would be a huge plus — and since I already come with a best friend (Kita!), we’ve got that part covered! HOW AM I WITH DOGS: Great! I love other dogs and absolutely adore playgroups. I’m especially bonded to my sister, Kita — we’d be happiest staying together. HOW AM I WITH CATS: Not a good match — I have a high prey drive, so no cats or small animals, please. HOW AM I WITH KIDS: I’ve done well with kids 10 and older who understand how to approach shy dogs calmly and kindly. I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS: I’m still learning! But I’m treat-motivated and curious, which helps. MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: FOHA can provide more details, but I’m tidy, routine-oriented, and make progress quickly in a predictable environment. THINGS I LIKE: Cheese • Quiet walks • Sniffing everything • Playing with my sister • Hanging out with dog friends • Earning your trust THINGS I DISLIKE: Being separated from Kita • Fast movements or loud environments • Cats or small pets FOHA ADOPTION POLICIES AND PROCESS: https://foha.org/pet-adoption/adoption-policies ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies, distemper & Bordetella), 1-month access to Petcademy for training and behavior support, slip lead leash, 1 bag of starter food, 1-month flea/tick & heartworm preventatives, diagnostic testing, and additional medical care as recommended by our vet. My sister, Kita, is shier than I am- and I help give her confidence. We aren't too happy when we're separated, and we really do well when we're together. We'd do best in a home together forever. We are GREAT in play group, so we'd be happy to join a home with other dogs!

Story
https://foha.org/pet/janis2023/ 🐾 MEET JANIS J Shy sweetheart seeking calm, patient love (with her brother Jerry by her side) ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Hi, I’m Janis J — a soft, sensitive husky mix with soulful brown eyes and a heart that’s slowly opening up to trust and love. I didn’t have much exposure to people early in life, so I’m naturally shy and cautious. But every day, I’m learning that the world can be kind and comforting. I’m not a cuddler (yet), but once I’m comfortable, I’ll relax nearby and quietly enjoy your company. I do best in calm, adult-only homes with a confident, gentle dog to help show me the way. In fact, I’m bonded to my brother Jerry, and we’re looking for a home together — he’s my comfort and partner in this journey. I’m crate trained and learning housebreaking (I even know how to use a dog door!). I’m not quite ready for formal training, but with time and positive reinforcement, I’ll keep making progress. I’m especially motivated by tasty treats and soft encouragement. I can be a little Houdini — I’m strong on leash and can hop fences, so a secure 6-foot fence (with a climb guard) is required. Also, I can’t have soft toys — I like to shred them and my brother has needed surgery because of our mischief, so it’s best we stick to tough toys only! 🐶 HOW AM I WITH DOGS: I love other dogs and thrive with calm, confident companions. I especially adore my brother Jerry — we play and snuggle and support each other. Pushy or overly energetic dogs can be overwhelming for me, so I do best with gentle playmates. 🐱 HOW AM I WITH CATS: No cats, please — my prey drive is too high. 👶 HOW AM I WITH KIDS: I need a home without children. Loud noises and fast movements are scary for me. 🧠 I KNOW THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS: Not yet, but I’m learning every day. I do know how to use a dog door and respond well to structure and routine. 🏠 MY HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: I’m crate trained and sleep in my crate overnight. I’m working on housebreaking and improving with consistency. I may have accidents as I adjust to a new space. 💖 THINGS I LOVE: Gentle dog friends • Peaceful environments • Treats • Quiet companionship • My brother Jerry • Lounging after playtime 🚫 THINGS I DISLIKE: Strangers • Fast movements • Soft toys (I destroy them!) • High-energy dogs • Unfenced or low-fenced yards 🏡 FOHA ADOPTION POLICIES AND PROCESS: Interested in adopting Janis J and Jerry? Learn more about FOHA’s adoption process here: 🔗 foha.org/pet-adoption/adoption-policies 💸 ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Spay/neuter, core vaccines, 1-month Petcademy access (for post-adoption support), slip lead leash, starter food, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, diagnostic testing, and any medical care recommended by our vet. Janis J and her brother Jerry are a special pair looking for someone to help them continue their healing journey. With a little patience and a lot of love, they’ll blossom into devoted companions who’ll fill your home with quiet joy and gentle loyalty. Adoption fee has been sponsored by Kim Baggett Real Estate
