Akina came from the shelter when she was only a year old, she’s now 8. I want her to be with someone who will be able to take her out with them, daily walks with plenty of attention and love. I’d like her to be with someone who knows the breed. She is a love bug and loves to cuddle, but only for a moment before she gets too hot. She’s a goofball that will make you laugh in the worst times, she knows when you’re upset. I love her to bits and I want what’s best for her and the way she’s living right now I can’t provide that for her. It breaks my heart to do this but I want her to live a full and happy life.

-ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 45 lbs -ESTIMATED AGE: 2 years -KNOWN WITH DOGS: good with other dogs, loves dog parks, does great in doggy daycare -KNOWN WITH CATS: ignores cats -KNOWN WITH KIDS: good with kids -KNOWN CUES: -KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: house trained and loved her crate when we first got her however hasn’t been crated in a while. She’s so good being left inside the house without issue. -KNOWN LIKES: walks, sleeping, being outside and squeaky toys but must be closely monitored. Loves puzzle toys, so smart. She figures them out right away. -KNOWN DISLIKES: uncomfortable with men but warms up slowly. We have gotten more comfortable in crowds, went to a high school football game last weekend and she did really well with crowds, let strangers pet her and give her treats. Warming up to entering crowded pet stores. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Purple is coming to HT From a rural VA shelter. She was surrendered along with 40-50 other huskies from a breeding situation. She's very friendly and good with other dogs. Notes from the foster: She really is a sweetheart, very gentle and will basically let you do anything to her, brush her, put on a harness, pick her up. Very quiet for a husky. She is really just the easiest girl. She sleeps all day when left to alone to go to work. She’s very chill while working from home. She loves her walkies so much and has really grown in confidence. She’d do great with fellow furry friends in the home to play with and would love a back yard to runaround. She’s just a happy chill little lady.
