Story
This beautiful dog is gorgeous and very very smart. She loves her crate and is quiet when she is in it. She loves leash walks although our walks are only inside the fenced-in backyard. Kiela is picking up commands quickly.  She has already learned to lay down on command. Kiela has one blue eye and one brown eye. She is alert, but also quiet and sweet. And even though it looks like I photoshopped those adorable dark ears onto her face, that is exactly her unique face. Kiela is available for adoption and can't wait to meet you.Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org July 26, 2024, 5:50 pm

Story
Here's what Atticus's current family shares about him:Atticus is a very sweet pup with energy and enthusiasm to spare! He loves to run and would make an excellent running/hiking partner. He also loves playing with other dogs that match his energy. Atticus is still young and still learning. We've been working hard with him on his manners (including basic obedience training and a 2 week doggie training camp) and he is improving week after week, but he would really thrive with owners who can devote time to work with him very regularly. We have two small children at home, and that has not been a great fit for Atticus. He is still learning boundaries, and while the children don't seem to phase him and he has never shown any aggression towards them, he doesn't seem to know his own size. We would not suggest a home with small children for him. Atticus LOVES playing with dogs, and has done very well at doggie daycare. However, he once bit our other household dog when he thought she was going to take his rawhide (we would be happy to provide more details on this). While he doesn't resource guard in general, at times he gets very defensive of things like rawhides/chews. He really loves other dogs, he just gets anxious when there is a high-value treat involved. We want to find Atticus a home where he can really get his energy out. He is a lot of fun and with attention and a bit more training, he would be a wonderful companion for the right family. Thank you for your interest in Atticus! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=18303 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Atticus, or to submit an online application. HART adopts to the local DC/VA/MD metro area only. Visit our website for more information about our adoption process.

Story
Jaeger is a 3 1/2 year old Husky, Malamute, Shepard, Wolf mix. I rescued him from a neglectful family when he around 1 and I've taken care of him since then. Unfortunately as my career progresses I need to travel for longer and longer durations and am unable to provide the happy life he deserves. He's adores people and is very into physical touch to receive and display affection. Often thinking he is a lap dog regardless of his size. Due to lack of socializing when he was young and some anxiety he takes a bit warm up to other dogs. He's cohabitated with a cat and gotten along after boundaries were established. He has a lot of energy and enjoys running around in the forest when supervised. He isn't too fond of his cage and prefers to sleep on the couch or at the foot bed. Habits which he is able to adjust quickly with reinforcement. Unlike other Huskies Jaeger is relatively quiet only cooing when he needs to go out or wants attention. He rarely barks or growls.
