Meet Lloyd 🍻🐾 Lloyd is a young, active husky mix with strong former frat boy energy 😎 and a heart of gold 💛 He’s a little goofy, a little mysterious, and fully committed to having a good time once he catches the vibe in a new situation 🎉 This handsome dude loves to play, explore, and be part of the action 🐕🌲 He’d make an excellent trail buddy, patio pal, or brewery sidekick 🍺🥾☀️ — the kind of dog who’s always down to hang as long as there’s fun to be had and people to charm. Lloyd is also bringing more than just good looks and social skills to the table: he’s housebroken, crate trained, knows basic obedience, and walks pretty well on a front-clip harness ✅👏 In other words, he’s got enough manners to get invited back, but still knows how to keep life interesting 😏 If you’re looking for a fun-loving adventure buddy with playful energy and lovable “who knows what” mixed-breed charisma ✨🐺, Lloyd may be your guy 💙

Story
If Doc could write his own adoption bio, it would probably just say: “HI!!!! 😊” …followed by 14 pages of additional thoughts and opinions. Doc is a ~2 year old, 44lb husky mix who came into a high-kill California shelter as a stray, and we were able to claim him right under the nick of time because honestly… LOOK AT HIS FACE. 🥹🤍 Some dogs politely wait for someone to save them. Doc looked directly at us like, “Okay cool 😌 where are we going?” Since leaving the shelter, Doc has approached life with the energy of someone who just discovered happiness, friendship, snacks, and TJ Maxx all at once. Every day is the best day of his entire life. Need to run errands? 🚗 Cool, he’s already in the car. Going on a walk? 🦮 Outstanding. Trip to Home Depot? 🛒 He would like to greet the gardening section personally. Making dinner? 🍳 He can supervise. Trying to have personal space? Weird concept, but okay. Doc genuinely believes every human being on earth is his close personal friend. Stranger danger? Never heard of it. His ideal day consists of meeting 47 new people, collecting compliments, and receiving belly rubs from all of them. For a husky mix, he’s surprisingly polite in public ✨ He walks well on leash, loves outings, and settles nicely when hanging out somewhere. His only real flaw is that he greets people like he just returned home from war. 🤝💋 At home, Doc becomes a full-time cuddle employee 🛋️ This dog is OBSESSED with affection. Belly rubs? Mandatory. Couch snuggles? Required by law. Personal space? Never heard of her. If you stop petting him too early, he will simply climb back onto you and politely resubmit his request. Now. We do need to address Doc’s ongoing political campaign against kennel time. 🗣️ Doc strongly believes kennels are unconstitutional and that he should instead be allowed to accompany you everywhere forever. While he IS kennel trained and settles well once inside, he may initially perform a dramatic monologue about the injustice of it all. 🎤 Thankfully, he’s improving every day with consistency and routine. He’s not destructive. Just… emotionally expressive. Doc does well with calm dogs both big and small 🐶 He seems to really enjoy stable canine friends and matches energy well once he settles down. He has no known history with cats or small animals, but so far has shown way more interest in making friends than chasing anything. A dog-savvy cat could likely do just fine with him 🐈‍⬛ He’d also likely do well with kids who can stand their ground a little, because when Doc gets excited, his entire body enters the group chat at once. 😅 ✨ Neutered ✨ Microchipped ✨ Up to date on vaccines The best way to describe Doc is this: imagine if a golden retriever got trapped inside a husky body and then immediately downloaded social media and drank a Celsius. He’s hilarious, affectionate, wildly social, slightly dramatic, and impossible not to love. Somewhere out there is a family missing a fluffy little best friend who will make every single day more entertaining, and Doc is VERY ready to find them. 🤍

Juno is a very sweet, good natured dog. She is very loving, loves to be pet, is very curious, and loves to be involved in whatever you're doing. She's a leaner - she loves to lean in to you and is kind of clumsy. She has stunning blue eyes and is friendly to any people she meets. I really love this dog, we simply have too many dogs and now children running around,

Story
Who doesn’t love a fun, loving, full of life Husky that instantly puts a smile on your face because he just seems so happy all the time?! Well, say hello to Sid Smitty Truly the dog version of a human exclamation point. He has this contagious, feel-good energy about him that makes being around him so much fun. From what we’ve seen so far, Sid Smitty genuinely seems happiest when he’s included in whatever is going on. Hanging out with people? Amazing. Playing with dog friends? Best day ever. Getting attention and affection? Absolutely yes. He’s been incredibly sweet with everyone he’s met and has this way of melting right into you for love like he’s known you forever. What makes him extra special though is that he really seems to have the best of both worlds personality-wise. He can be playful, goofy, and full of silly Husky fun one minute, then perfectly content cuddling up beside you soaking in affection the next. He’s also done great around kids and overall just gives off that “life is more fun when this dog is around” kind of vibe. Watch his video and fall in love with this guy: https://youtu.be/0fXkEOavbus?si=kyyQdMDCbkOvIRgU Sid Smitty is believed to be a Husky mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 59 lbs. Which seems like a big number on paper and when you’re reading it. He is a big dog but he’s more legs, height and fluff than he is poundage. And as if Sid wasn’t already unique enough, this boy has one random little black spot right in the middle of his tail like someone accidentally booped him with a paintbrush and decided, “yep, perfect, leave it.” It’s such a silly little detail but somehow makes him even cuter and gives him so much character. Like his tail needed its own beauty mark or something LOL. If you watched his video then you saw his interactions around a 2 year old. Sid was honestly SO sweet with her and seemed genuinely happy just being included in all the little moments and chaos. Right away he was confidently going up to her while she was swinging a cat toy around everywhere, following her around curiously, and just happily existing in the middle of all the action. He wasn’t bothered by whining, crying noises, or unpredictable toddler energy at all. And despite being a goofy Husky boy with basically zero spatial awareness LOL, he was naturally very gentle with her. One of the sweetest moments was when they were both up on the couch together and Sid completely melted into her, like fully laid on her like a giant fluffy weighted blanket just soaking up the cuddles. It was one of those moments where everyone in the room was like “okay wait… this is ridiculously cute.” Based off what we’ve seen, he really seems to have a lot of potential to make a super fun, affectionate family dog in the right home. With other dogs, Sid has done great with all of the dogs we have introduced him to. He has been with dogs ranging in sizes (some as small as 8lbs) and personalities. From what we have seen, Sid gravitates towards playful dogs like himself the most. And when he does find a playmate, he truly shines. Consistent of games of chase, wrestling matches, and if you know shepherds, then you know they like to throw paws and love mouthy type play. In a home, he would do great with a fun, happy, confident female that likes to play, enjoys rowdy play and also a dog that appreciates the calmer hangout moments too. If you don’t have other dogs that’s fine too. We believe Sid could be just as happy being the center of your attention. Sid also met our house cat Biggie and appeared to be just as friendly with him as he is with dogs. Almost as if Biggie was another pal to play with. Biggie is very dog savvy and is comfortable around dogs and will even play with dogs he is comfortable with. We do not know if he has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing him with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for him to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Yes, Sid can be a super fun, active, adventurous guy but he also has a calm side as well. He has had no problem making himself feel right at home and will lay right on top of you if you let him. Who doesn't love GSD snuggles?! He seems to already have some level of understanding that play time is an outside luxury and has good house manners. Though, he has shown that he is comfortable with couch cuddles and may attempt to sneak a snack or too off tables LOL. He hasn’t done it yet, but with his love for food and the advantage of being on the taller side. A small plate of your leftovers might be really tempting for him. Sid has enjoyed playing with toys, in particular rope toys and toys that he can play tug with. He also likes to play with balls too! In all honesty, we believe he would like playing with any kind of toy if that means you’re engaging in the play too. From what we have seen, Sid isn’t play play play 24/7. A little fun outdoors with his doggy friends or backyard play sessions with people, Sid will be prepped and ready for snuggles. Not feeling snuggly? That’s fine. He has been really good about finding a cozy spot on the floor and settling in with his favorite toy and is perfectly content doing his own thing. We are willing to test Sid Smitty with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Meet Trixie- the small dog loving gal! This beautiful girl weighs 55 pounds and is estimated to be 5 years old. We think she is a husky/boxer mix, but we aren’t really sure, so we just call her our Texas Special- the very best breed! Trixie is being fostered with nine small grumpy dogs and has been a big foster sister to many more. She loves to gently play with them, and takes it in stride when they growl and snap at her. She shares toys and will lets them take toys from her- even thought she is 6 times their size! A game of chase?? Yes Please- she loves to run and play! Trixie is shy with big dogs and prefers to stays on the sidelines durning big dog play group. She has calmer big dog friends she likes to go walking with, but in general prefers low energy big dogs who give her time to warm up and respect her space. For this reason we think she would be best in a small dog home. Check out Trixie here: https://youtu.be/HGbITB-dv5k Trixie’s bond with her foster mom is tight. She’s become her little shadow, quietly trailing from room to room to be nearby in hopes of sneaking in a belly rub. No one in the house is happier to see her foster mom when she comes home than Trixie, who bounds up to her like she has been gone days, even if it has only been 15 minutes. Looking for a buddy to grab a morning coffee or late night ice cream treat with? Trixie would love to join you! She is an excellent car rider and knows how to “load up”. She is great on the leash and loves to go for walks and to dog friendly stores. She walks by people and dogs with ease. This girl does like to watch squirrels and bunnies- and would give them a chase if allowed. Trixie gets lots of zoomies- and loves to go outside and run laps in the yard. She also enjoys basking in the sun watching the world go by. A home with a fenced yard she can run around in would be ideal for her. Trixie potty trained and crate trained- just give her a treat and tell her to "get in bed". Trixie met our housecat Biggie and was gently curious, giving respectful sniffs before moving along. She’s considered cat tolerant and could do well in a home with a dog-savvy feline who won’t mind the occasional gentle inspection. Trixie is searching for a quiet, peaceful home where she can feel safe and adored, a place with a yard to explore, and a person to lean into and little dogs to play with. She would love to go on a good walk or an adventure up the mountains. If you think Trixie might just be your perfect match, apply here and her coordinator will reach out! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/686a7f52abb88d9ce7062ead Questions? Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission! Story
Meet Vito- a soulful, affectionate gentle good boy - approximately 3-4 yrs- Vito's weight is approx. 45 lbs, he is up to date with vaccinations, and is neutered and microchipped (Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella) he is affectionate, enthusiastic. ADR.org rescued this wonderful creature last minute from the Riverside shelter "death row" where he was euthanization listed due to Shyness, and full shelter situation. Before arriving on Orcas Island, WA via ground transport Vito spend 3 weeks in boarding and a trainer gave this assessment: Initially shy when first arriving and cautious around new people • Previously head-shy, especially when the leash was being put on or taken off • Has since overcome head shyness with the leash coming on and off • Responds best to a calm, confident person who moves slowly and takes his time • Warms up significantly when he observes positive interactions between his handler and another dog • Very gentle and well-mannered on leash • Enjoys being scratched on his back • Prefers minimal handling under the chin and chest area • Should be approached slowly and allowed to set the pace • Loves sniffing during walks and benefits from slow, exploratory outings I, owner of ADR.org thoroughly enjoy Vito's presence and clearly can tell that his lovely personality shines through. ADR.org would like to see him in a home with Chow-savvy adults. Not a high energy household with nobody dedicating a lot of time to him. He so longs to have "his human" around, interacting with the respective person(s). He loves his walks, or a backyard (FENCED!) but still YOU will be the most important being in his life. While he is good with respectful dogs, he is not the "mingler"- and dogs parks would not be a preferred place for him. If you are interested and think you can offer a good and dedicated forever home, please send an email to : ADR@animaldefenserescue.org and tell a bit about yourself. Add some photos. I will then send you an application and we will have a get-to-know-each-other phone call. In the course of the adoption process you must be willing to come to Orcas Island to meet your new friend and then eventually leave with him. VITO looks forward to hearing from you

Story
Meet MOMO- a genuine character. AnimalDefense Rescue.org rescued MOMO from the Modest Shelter in CA. She was surrendered back to the shelter by the same people who had adopter her from there - they did so with the argument that she was too strong on walks and this elderly couple could not keep up with her on walks. MOMO's age was given as UNKNOWN by the CA shelter but ADR.org can say - based on CA vet check and then here in WA on arrival- that her age is adult - and the age bracket is between 3-4 years. She weights around 55lbs. Assessment from ADR.org and trainer in Modesto,CA shelter: **MOMO is a very sweet girl that is selective at first with humans she wants to interact with, and she will take time to seek affection. MOMO needs someone who understands the needs of this particular breed. Unexperienced adopters who never had a ChowChow before would not be a fair match for MOMO. ** MOMO is apprehensive when meeting new people or a new person and needs someone who understands subtle signals and allows her to decompress on her own timeline. She is a very manageable size and warms up to a new person/people who are calm and do not force affection on her too fast. **MOMO has bonded very well to me, the owner and founder of ADR.org - but she took her time and was not interested at all in me the first 2 weeks. Basic obedience and sticking to a pattern of cues i gave her showed true results and she now mentally "connects with me. The future owner will need to pick up on it, and continue to create a relationship with her and not pressure her to interact. Let her come to you. But once she "likes" you , do not be surprised to get s sudden lick out of the blue. ** MOMO can keep herself busy for some time but shall not be left alone in a backyard for a long time. She is crate trained as well. She can be very funny! The future home should be without cat(s), and preferably no children under 16. if you are interested in MOMO and think you can give her a home that satisfies her needs - reach out by emailing me The email address is ADR@animalDefensererscue.org. Send some photos of your home, or what you want to share are welcome. You will then receive an application form that you please fill out and return ASAP. After review of your application, I would like to talk to you to get to know you well- that call can be up to 60min. you can ask all questions you have. MOMO is spayed, is microchipped and up to date with vaccinations. ADR.org looks forward to hearing from you.

Good with dogs, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
LEONA was found as a stray in horribly neglected condition, missing much of her fur, and brought to the LA City shelter beginning of November. She has been estimated to be between 3-5 years old, weighs 49 lbs., and was previously spayed. ADR.org WA saved her life and since then, the rescue has provided extensive vetting with bloodwork, microchipping, and vaccinations. LEONA is a very lovely, shy girl that likes keeping to herself, but is socially tolerant, takes corrections without a problem, and has a gentle and dainty playstyle. She greets people she trusts with a tail wag. LEONA has a YouTube video in the posting (made by the trainer of the boarding facility she was after vet stay and before coming to WA) that shows her in the play yard with other dogs and, she can be seen happily running around in video. She was described by this trainer as: “Overall calm temperament, Sweet, gentle, and shy girl. Also: • Dog-friendly with both large and small dogs • Good with people, shy at first and benefits from slow introductions • Does not engage much in play; prefers to keep to herself and sniff • Comfortable with touch and handling • Nervous around loud noises • Does great on leash, still pulls into different directions at times • Handles small or enclosed spaces well (crate-trained) • Once comfortable, very affectionate • Enjoys jumping into arms, cuddling, and receiving pets” Additionally, after thorough Vet exam, and tests, LEONA was found to have dry eye issues and a condition called Keratoconjunctivitis, which is inadequate tear production, causing redness, and pain if untreated. Therefore, LEONA will need eye ointments or drops administered daily and continuously. For the time being, LEONA is part of the rescue Founder’s “gang” on Orcas Island (OI), WA. If you think LEONA would be a good friend and pet for you, please reach out via email to: ADR@animaldefenserescue.org to receive an application. Without you filling out and returning your application to ADR.org you will not be considered. Furthermore, you need to be willing to come to Orcas Island, WA Island, WA so that a meet and greet (with possible then same day adoption) can happen - and the rescue founder can meet you in real. Prior to meet and greet and the screening call you will receive more photos and videos (in the postings I can only use limited # of “visuals). Once the application has been returned, and prior to your coming we will have a phone call in which you can ask all the questions you might have and I (owner of ADR.org) will get to know you better and feel more comfortable as well that you might be the right person for dear LEONA. She so deserves a stable, knowledgeable, and caring home that is fully committed and you can offer the home she truly deserves and will thrive in. ADR.org is more than happy to help with ferry reservations, and accommodation here on OI (if necessary). LEONA looks forward to hearing from you!
