Story
Alaska is a good dog but needs a better home than I can provide. We got Alaska when she was a puppy, from the people who owned and bred her mom and dad, so we’re the only home she’s had. I am allergic to dogs and really wasn’t wanting to get one because I knew I wouldn’t be able to be the one to take care of her if nobody else did. However, my ex husband wanted her… so that’s what happened. We divorced and he couldn’t find a place to live that would allow him to have her, so she had to stayed here. I can’t care for her or have her in the majority of the house, and she deserves so much more than she has right now. I hate the thought of rehoming, but also hate the thought of her not being able to really live her best life.

Story
8 years old (estimated) Neutered Male  Has lived with kids and a cat Has done well with another dog  Dalven is a sweet, friendly, and smart husky mix who is sure to win you over with his charming personality. Like many husky mixes, he isn't shy about using his voice to let you know exactly what he's thinking, adding plenty of character and entertainment to your day. Dalven already knows sit and shake, loves playing fetch, and enjoys going for walks where he can stretch his legs and explore the world around him. With his affectionate nature, playful spirit, and clever mind, Dalven is ready to find a forever home that will appreciate all the love and personality he has to offer. The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.July 30, 2026, 5:52 pm

Story
Have you met the lovely duo, Blue and Star? Blue and Star, two adorable dogs found abandoned, are searching for a loving home.It all started in March 2023 when an abandoned dog was spotted on Comus Lake in Delavan. He had been there all day, and when the kind stranger reached out to him, Blue was unapproachable. That’s when the Delavan Police Department stepped in. They sent two officers to contain the pooch, but that went nowhere. That’s when the staff member came into play. Everyone that came to help spent hours with Blue in freezing temps, and after some snacks and kind words, they made headway with him. Blue ended up being able to be leashed with the help of a gentleman who was sitting down and was willing to get close to Blue. It was like they knew each other forever.During the ordeal with Blue, the police department got a call about another husky being found a bit down the road. That dog turned out to be Star. As it turns out, both dogs were chipped! The shelter was able to get both dogs names and ages. Blue is a man’s dog, who gets excited to see them and bonds quickly. Star is a big fan of all people and gets excited whenever her friends come to walk her, so much so that if they don’t come quickly enough, she takes it upon herself to go on a walk. That’s right—Star is THAT mischievous husky that digs her way out if she can’t find another way. As with most issues that come with this breed, there are solutions that can help with time and knowledge. Unfortunately, Blue can’t be in a home with children, but Star likes everyone. That doesn`t help when they need to go home together! Star can be a bit dramatic with her husky sounds - she just LOVES to talk.Adoption Information ~ •Husky mix•Blue - 5 years - almost 6•Star 4 years old - almost 5•Spayed and neutered•Microchipped •Current on yearly vaccinations •Fecal Exam•Star has High energy and needs an outlet for it. Blue would rather have a couch, bed or a nice grassy backyard to chill in•NO CATS for either of them•Needs a husky experienced home
