Story
Scout randomly showed up on my porch one day. I believe he might have been abandoned or escaped his original home. He showed up with a collar with no identifying information or microchip. We attempted to search for his owners and took him to our local shelter but no one claimed him. I was heartbroken leaving him at the shelter so I brought him back home with me. Unfortunately we cannot keep Scout long term because we have our hands full with a toddler and our other pets. We would really like to see Scout adopted into a loving home because he is such a sweet dog and does not have a mean bone in him at all. He is a complete lap dog who would love to lay next to you and be in the same room as you. Scout is around 2 years old or younger. He is so sweet, very trainable, eager to please, and crate trained. Great with kids, dogs, and cats. Feel free to contact me with questions!

Story
Roofus is an adorable medium-sized cuddle bug to his core, and an ideal day for him would be a quick walk to get the zoomies out, and then getting to snuggle with you or sit in your pile of laundry. He is fully potty trained, and has mastered "sit and "okay," his release word for food. He likes cuddling with his sister, Mimi, and is warming up to our other dog. Roofus and his sister Mimi came to Milo together after their person passed away. He tends to be reactive to dogs in the neighborhood but likes meeting new people!

Story
Starr was an owner surrender at my previous veterinary hospital. She was the unfortunate victim of a brutal dog attack. Due to the owner's circumstances and given that I was an employee at the time, I was able to cover her treatment along with the assistance of my partner. My intention was to prevent her from being euthanized as I did not want her to miss out on what could be a great life. She was born on Oct. 19, 2023. She is currently up to date on all her vaccines, fully dewormed, spayed, microchipped and is on flea/tick prevention. I am searching for an owner experienced with high energy breeds, since she is very athletic, loves to chase and run after rope toys. She can be fearful and anxious meeting new people and animals but once she warms up to you, she will shower you in ferocious kisses. She is goofy and clumsy, as well.

Story
~Spanky~ 4 years old Breed: Terrier Mix/Boarder Collie Weight: 25 lbs House Trained Male Sweet and spirited Spanky is an endearing blend of affectionate and active. Once his foster mom earned his trust, she earned his loyalty and love. Despite his size, Spanky sees himself as a lap dog, calmly snuggling with her and being petted and held although he does enjoy spending time on his own. Always curious and always up for adventure, he gets along well with other dogs, enjoys running in the park (he’s excellent off leash), pulling on rope, playing with – and tearing apart – chew toys and going for car rides with his head out the window. Motivated by food and treats and a fondness for blueberries, he knows “come” and “sit”, isn’t a fan of being wiped down or cleaned, and barks at passersby outside the backyard. He also has a tendency to resource guard around his doggy foster brother, and prefers to sniff new people before they pet him. For these reasons, Spanky is best suited to a loving home with patient adopters who will earn his trust, continue his socialization and complete his doggy education in return for his enduring loyalty and love. Spanky is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. To meet or adopt Spanky, fill out an application and a volunteer will contact you shortly. Story
~2 yr old, 11 lb Border Terrier/Min Pin/Chihuahua (?) Mix NEUTERED MALE needs ADOPTION Meet Mister ThunderEGG Gem! ThunderEgg Available for foster-to-adopt or adopt. He is being neutered on Monday 2/13   ThunderEgg was dumped in front of our vet clinic with a litter of puppies   The first day, he was assumed to be ”mom” until the vet did their exams and found all 4 dogs had a penis     We think he’s a Border Terrier and MinPin mix (likely chihuahua too because you know…)   He’s around 3-4 years old and 11 lbs   He’s shy for like 32.5 seconds and then he wants to be INSIDE you.   Needs to build confidence in public and we suggest obedience or trick training (we will pay for first session of classes) because learning a command and getting rewarded for doing that command builds confidence in dogs   He was likely used only as a breeder for his whole life until last week so it’s all he knows. He’s a humpy-McHumpster so right now a home with dogs who are larger than him OR are good at appropriate corrections would be great. He could be an only dog if his people were incredibly active.   His neuter is pending and he’s otherwise fully vetted and healthy   We think he would do best in a home who was active daily with hikes, walks, runs etc — he has terrier energy x 2. He NEEDS an outlet as he is VERY active   He would likely be a great barn hunt, agility, obedience candidate for competitive sport homes or 4-H   He is fine with older children. His energy level might be a bit much for children under 5 but all kids are different and you know yours   He ignores cats in his foster home     No signs of aggression. He has been a little barky but it also seems like nervousness in his new environment (he went from breeder, to vet to new foster in less than a week). Unless you work from home or are a hermit who never leaves, an apartment or wall-sharing close neighbors would probably not be a good idea at least initially (he has improved significantly) .   He is a LOVE with his humans. He will cover you in all the kisses you can handle. He wants to go where you go. enjoys running errands to Home Depot or Starbuck meetings with friends.   If you are interested in adopting or foster to adopting this sweet boy who just needs his opportunity to find his place in this world, please send us a detailed email to beourpet@gmail.com .   ***IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ADOPT BUT WOULD LIKE TO HELP, PLEASE SHARE THIS POST!***  GENERAL INFO:   Housebroken?: He knows to go outside.  He was SUPER marky the first few days but that has resolved and we hope will be permanent once he recovers from neuter Crate Trained?: Eh... marginally but would need practice Leash Trained?: Yes, but practice would not hurt and he prefers harness Rides Well in Car?: Yes Non-Shedding?: No Good with cats?: Yes, ignores in foster home Good with dogs?: Yes but needs larger dogs or dogs who will correct him  Qualifies for Seniors for Seniors?: Regular (discounted) adoption fee applies Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 5 Umbrella of Hope is an all-volunteer, donation-run, non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals from local shelters, places them in private foster homes, provides them with needed medical care and then finds them new homes.  Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, treated for parasites and given any additional treatments (dental work, bloodwork etc) as recommended by our vet.  Adoptions to veterans of the US Armed Services are ALWAYS free to thank you for your service.   We thank Well Pet Vet Clinic for providing most of our veterinary services and give a special thanks to volunteer photographers Tanya, Barbara, Kristy, Christine, Teressa and Natalie.  We are on all social media at @umbrellaofhope and we invite you to follow us and share which helps more people see and adopt our pets.  To help our ALL VOLUNTEER team rescue more senior, special needs, medically needy and hospice animals (and a few 'typical' ones along the way, please consider making a tax-deductible (TAX ID 45-4103375) donation online at www.paypal.me/UOH or Venmo @umbrellaof-hoperescue or Zelle beourpet@gmail.com.   You can also buy tees, tanks. sweatshirts, hats and bandannas where all proceeds benefit our animals https://ruff-life-rescue-wear.myshopify.com/collections/umbrella-of-hope We also have an Etsy store where the merchandise is made by volunteers and supporters, changes regularly and 100% of the proceeds benefit our medical fund https://www.etsy.com/shop/Umbrellaofhope Amazon Wish List tinyurl.com/pineapplewish  April 23, 2024, 4:57 pm

Story
Trinity, the adorable 8 pound rat terrier is a survivor! She has survived being hit by a car and sustaining many fractures and a badly broken leg/ hip before ending up at the shelter and has needed some time and vet care to heal before we could spay her. She will need a special home as she is a little bit wobbly but she gets around incredibly well and our vet is very happy with how she's doing and finally cleared her for her spay which went well! Trinity is now officially ready to find a family of her own. Trinity likes other dogs and while she tries a little bit too much to play with the cats and mouth them even at times, she has been adjusting to them. We recommend she go to a home with older, gentle children 12 and up being that she has had such injuries we don't want to risk her getting hurt or snapping if they're too rough with her. Sometimes she will guard her little stuffed animal toys. They are her favorite thing in the world. She is actually quite obsessed with carrying them around everywhere.. it's adorable. Her injuries included a broken leg on one side and a torn ligament on the other as well as pelvic fractures and road rash on her head. She needed quite a while and a lot of crate rest and meds while she was healing but she is thriving, super playful, snuggly and happy as can be. We do notice that her depth perception seems to be a little bit off, but other than that and being a little bit wobbly, she doesn't seem to have any other issues. we aren't sure how old she is. The Shelter estimated she was 2yrs old, but our vet thinks more like 4 to 6 years old is likely. This little girl is hilarious. She has a big personality that will crack you up all the time and she will make a great companion. She is crate trained and doing well on potty training although she does need to go out often or she will have an accident. Trinity is being fostered in the East Bay area. We would really appreciate if everybody would share her and help us find her a wonderful home. If you think you may be the right fit for her, please do send us an application and tell us all about you we would love to find her a forever family of her very own! Our application is on our website www.K9ppr.orgApril 24, 2024, 2:04 pm
