Once his foster mom earned his trust, she earned his loyalty and love. Despite his size, Spanky sees himself as a lap dog, calmly snuggling with her and being petted and held although he does enjoy spending time on his own. Always curious and always up for adventure, he gets along well with other dogs, enjoys running in the park (he’s excellent off leash), pulling on rope, playing with – and tearing apart – chew toys and going for car rides with his head out the window. Motivated by food and treats and a fondness for blueberries, he knows “come” and “sit”, isn’t a fan of being wiped down or cleaned, and barks at passersby outside the backyard. He also has a tendency to resource guard around his doggy foster brother, and prefers to sniff new people before they pet him. For these reasons, Spanky is best suited to a loving home with patient adopters who will earn his trust, continue his socialization and complete his doggy education in return for his enduring loyalty and love. He is very affectionate. He is about 7 years old and a snuggle bug that lost his previous person to illness and is looking for his own person to worship. He loves to lie out in the sun and go in the garage to look for mice. He plays okay with other dogs of all sizes. He would love to be an only dog if his person was around a lot but he wouldn’t like being left alone for 8 hours a day without canine company. He is untested with cats. Trigger is ok with children over 7 years old. He loves giving and getting lots of attention. Adores treats, walks, car rides and cuddles. He is an active kind of guy, always looking for adventures in everyday life. He is a real character and is full of love for his people. He sleeps in his bed all night long though he really would prefer yours so he can cuddle with you. He is a very quiet and smart dog who understands what you are saying to him. Bugsy is a great buddy to have around. He is about 18 lbs and around 6- 7 years old. He enjoys going on walks and loves to wander around in the yard in his wheels or scooting along, play with his toys, happy all snuggled up with his people, and just hanging around. Bugsy loves the toys at his foster home and doesn’t mind sharing them. He is the sweetest and most loving guy you will ever meet. He has been around all sizes and breeds of dogs and gets along great with them He enjoys the company of other dogs but he would be just as happy to be an only dog if his person was around most of the time to keep him company. If not then he needs a canine companion for company. Bugsy is very affectionate but doesn’t require a ton of attention to be content. He is pretty low-maintenance and will happily follow your lead. Bugsy doesn’t use his back legs but do not be fooled since he is still an active guy and can go many places with his wheels or rear harness. He is very good around young kids and lives with one now. Bugsy is exceptionally loving and eager to please. He knows what he is being told and if you are looking for a smarty to be part of your family he is the guy. He will bring lots of warmth and terrier-silliness to your home. Give him a chance and he will steal your heart. Bugsy also needs a new foster home if not adopted. Nicky is about 9 months old. He is about 17 lbs of solid muscle and about 14 inches tall. Nik is super playful, smart, and loving and plays with his bones and toys. He is always ready to be where you are and get some love. He loves to cuddle up to you and will be the best watch TV at-night companion you ever had. He is good in the car and always up for a new adventure. Nik walks ok on the leash but could still learn more about how it is done. He knows to sit, get out of a room when told, and aims to please. This happy-go-lucky boy is very active so his new home must be able to provide him with outlets for his energy. Nicky is good with children who know how to be gentle with dogs and instantly loves everyone he meets. He would fit very well in a home with active people. We would love to see an active family or an individual adopt him so he gets the attention and activity that he needs. He also loves other dogs so if you work a full day he will need a canine companion to be with until you get home. He is too active to sit alone for a full workday. He respects the senior dogs in his foster home but plays too rough and tumble for them to engage with him. Loves his food and he is not picky at all. When it is time for bed he sleeps in a crate because he loves wandering around the room because he is a youngster. Meet Maddy! She's one adorable JRT mix around a year old . This beautiful girl wins over every single person who meets her, she is kind, gentle and a loving soul. Maddy loves other dogs and people so much. She’s crate trained and does well in the house. Maddy was diagnosed with a birth defect of her heart called pulmonic stenosis and sadly is a poor candidate for surgery. She is on heart medications for the rest of her life and the cardiologist said she could live between 1-5 years. We are looking for a forever foster (or open to adopter) for this beautiful girl … She can live a pretty normal life for whatever time she has here. We will cover costs of her medications and any other costs. We provide food, crate and all supplies.

Scout randomly showed up on my porch one day. I believe he might have been abandoned or escaped his original home. He showed up with a collar with no identifying information or microchip. We attempted to search for his owners and took him to our local shelter but no one claimed him. I was heartbroken leaving him at the shelter so I brought him back home with me. Unfortunately we cannot keep Scout long term because we have our hands full with a toddler and our other pets. We would really like to see Scout adopted into a loving home because he is such a sweet dog and does not have a mean bone in him at all. He is a complete lap dog who would love to lay next to you and be in the same room as you. Scout is around 2 years old or younger. He is so sweet, very trainable, eager to please, and crate trained. Kirby is a gorgeous 6 yo scruffy terrier mix, with the most beautiful amber eyes. He is approximately 50 lbs and one of the most photogenic dogs we have at Jelly's Place. Kirby is a happy dog who loves to play with squeaky toys, take walks and relax on the couch with his favorite hoomans. He loves to dig for buried treasure and will let you dress him up in costumes for the different holidays. He is smart, walks great on a leash, is food motivated and eager to please. Kirby can be a little nervous when meeting new people. However, once he knows you, he is loving, affectionate and the best company. Kirby is a staff and volunteer family. One volunteer has called him "the love of your life kind of dog." The ideal family for Kirby would be a single person or couple, with dog experience. Kirby would make a great walking companion, but he's just as happy to lay at your feet, amuse himself with a toy or just relax until you are ready to take a break. Kirby would prefer to be the only animal in the family, but we don't think that is too much to ask. He has so much love to give and will thrive in the right home! .
