Whether it’s a game of tug-of-war, a squeaky toy chase, classic fetch, or a walk in the great outdoors, Wrigley’s tail is always wagging. He's also been friendly with other dogs at the shelter Wrigley recently went on a field trip with a volunteer, who reported: "Wrigley had a great time exploring the Alameda waterfront. He followed his nose, taking in all the smells, yet was content to go wherever I lead him. He didn’t blink an eye at bicycles whizzing by and calmly observed passing dogs, not barking or pulling toward them even when they were rowdy. He was fascinated by the ground squirrels, though I was able to redirect him without much trouble. We took several breaks along the way to cuddle, have some treats, and take in the sights. Wrigley is a gentle and affectionate pup with the most expressive ears. He was a very good boy on our outing!" In his foster home, Wrigley has settled in beautifully. He's a quiet shadow, always nearby and always ready for snuggles. He’s smart, treat-motivated, and learns quickly. Cleo is a one-eyed wonder and has completely forgotten about losing an eye in a dog attack. Agile and athletic, Cleo is a 12 lb., 2 yr-old Terrier mix and displays Terrier behavior such as loving to play with toys, loving to go for long walks and is inquisitive about anything new in her world. Cleo came from a situation where she was under-socialized and displays fearful behavior. We are working on behavior training and she is becoming much calmer. Little Cleo is potty trained with regular potty breaks. Cleo is a one or 2 person dog, and makes friends with new people very slowly. She lives OK with a companion dog, and an ocassiional dog visitor, but we think she would prefer to be an only dog in her future home. Due to her young age and training, Cleo will age into a proper little companion. Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Cleo is $300. Here's some notes from his foster: Improv is a sweet good boy who loves head scratches and kitchen scraps. He's highly food motivated and less interested in toys. This senior pup is high energy and loves to go on walks to meet other furry friends. He loves meeting other dogs, no matter the size. Improv does well in the car, on walks, and during bath time. He does get a little sad home alone, so I think he would do well with another furry friend at home. Improv loves head and face scratches but prefers not to be picked up when already comfortable in bed.
