Story
5½MonthOld Shortie Jack Russell Terriers Skippy is 13 lbs and considered a Wired Hair Shortie Jack.  These adorable 5½monthold Shortie Jack Russell Terriers are ready for their new beginning. Shorties are the compact, lowrider version of the classic Jack Russell — smart, affectionate, sturdy, and full of personality without the high-octane intensity of the taller lines. The breeder docked their tails.  In the breeding world, puppies are expected to sell quickly, usually between 8 and 12 weeks. Once they pass the 3month mark, the demand drops sharply, and the profit margin disappears for breeders. Older puppies cost more to feed, vaccinate, and house, and many breeders simply can’t justify keeping them long-term. Therefore, they are transferred to rescues. Now that they’re in rescue, they’re blossoming.  Shorties are softnatured, peopleoriented, gentle little terriers. They’re affectionate, submissive, easy to handle, and some say much calmer than standard JRTs. They bond fast, stay close, and thrive on routine and reassurance. **Our Adoption Process:** To begin the adoption process, please fill out an application on our website. If your application appears to be a good fit, we will request the following: 1. Photos of your yard 2. Veterinary records for any previous or current dogs Depending on your location, a home visit may also be conducted.  Please note that we do not offer separate meet-and-greets for puppies. When you schedule an appointment, that visit will serve as both your meet-and-greet and your adoption day. If you decide not to adopt after meeting the puppy, your deposit will be refunded. Adoption Requirements:  A fencedin backyard suitable for a small dog (no invisible fences). If your condo or HOA does not allow fencing, we may consider your application on a casebycase basis. An adult who is home during the day and able to provide the time, supervision, and companionship a puppy needs.” No crating for puppies. Adopters must use a puppy playpen, which provides a safe, contained space with room to move and reduces stress. We will share recommended options once your application is approved. Children in the home must be 7 years or older. Younger children may be considered if they have grown up with a dog in the household. Homes with no dogs or a small dog will be considered (no multidog households). All puppies are vetchecked, vaccinated, dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have received heartworm and flea preventatives. The adoption fee is $500. When your application is approved, a $50 deposit can be placed to hold the puppy until adoption day.  To adopt, please complete an online application on our website by clicking the "Adopt" button under the puppy's photo. www.indianasaveadog.com.    ##2670735##

Story
Blu is a very energetic, loving dog who thrives on attention! He has a protective nature, especially around girls and women, and loves being close to his people. He is potty trained, but because of busy schedules and spending time in a crate, he may occasionally have accidents in the cage. He would do best with someone who has the time, patience, and consistency to continue reinforcing his training. Blu has always had a big yard to run and play in, so an ideal home would be one with a fenced-in backyard where he can safely enjoy the space and burn off his energy. Blu has so much love to give and truly deserves a home where he can get the attention, affection, and structure he needs. We are hoping to find someone who can give him the time and care he deserves. 💙
