Gus is a high energy pup who loves to run and play as much as he loves to cuddle. He is great with people after he feels comfortable with them. He gets along with female dogs and some male dogs. Meet Maru: Maru is about a 10 year old (as of July 2026) Jack Russell Terrier mix (best guess) that weighs about 16 pounds. Maru was surrendered to a high kill shelter in Tennessee. One of our regular rescuers witnessed poor Maru being dropped off while they were picking up another dog. His owners said they didn’t have time for him anymore; they removed his harness and leash and took his blanket and toy out of his crate and took him inside in the empty crate. The little buddy was scared and confused, but luckily we were able to find an open spot and went to pick him up the next day. Maru is now being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Maru was shy at first but warmed up after a day. Maru has been good with other dogs, but seems to be overwhelmed by the multiple dogs in his foster home. We believe he would prefer a home with one other dog or he would also seem happy on his own. Maru is a big snuggler and loves nothing better than to lay in his person’s lap! Maru is good with people, but we think small children may scare him - he would love a calmer more laid back environment. Maru is crate trained, but loves his doggy bed to snuggle in. When Maru sees his harness he gets very excited to be able to go on a walk - he loves his walks and is great on the leash. Maru loves to be outside and we would love for him to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to sniff and sunbathe the day away. Maru is house trained. Sophia is a 4 year old spayed female jack russell (best guess) who weighs about 13 pounds. She was rescued from our vet when her owners dropped her off for a csection and did not want her back. Sadly, she lost all of her puppies, but she is the sweetest girl. Sophia is very easy going, loves to be held, has tested great with other dogs and keeps her kennel clean. Since moving to a foster home, she seems to be potty trained, loves to snuggle, rode wonderful in the car and loves to sleep in bed. Angel is as sweet as her name! This 1 year old Jack Russell came to us with her litter mates as puppies, all who were under socialized and afraid of the world. They were all adopted into wonderful homes after they learned how to “dog” but our Angel was returned, no fault of her own.  Angel is still a little shy, but she loves learning and exploring the world slowly. She loves playing with her toys and really loves tennis balls! After a game of fetch, she is content to cuddle with you in the couch. Angel is working on socializing around other dogs as she is afraid of them due to not having been socialized previously. Angel is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. If you think she may be the perfect match for your family please fill out an adoption application! Monty is a 3 year old Jack Russel beagle mix. He is a loving boy who LOVES to play fetch (he really does drop the ball for you to throw) when he’s not playing fetch or with some of his favorite toys he loves to lay with you and soft and cozy blankets. He is very food motivated - but does not like his food taken from him. Once he’s cozy in his soft blankets he doesn’t like to be moved. Monty needs a home with older kids and no other pets. He would thrive as a single dog where he can run around and take lots of walks.
