George is a precious boy who is looking for a special home with patient humans as he is slowly learning that the world isn't all scary. He is easily startled by unexpected noises and movements and would do best in a quiet, calm, and secure home. George is learning that he is safe and loved and has given lots of tail wags, some play bows, and occasional kisses! He has a gorgeous coat and the cutest little ears. He likes being next to his foster mom on the couch and is starting to play with toys. He's a great work-from-home companion as he is quiet, has been well-behaved, and hasn't needed lots of attention. He did well sleeping in a crate for the first few nights, but now happily sleeps in bed with his foster mom. He gets along fine with the other dogs in the home, including the senior chihuahua. Sophia is a 4 year old spayed female jack russell. She was rescued from our vet when her owners dropped her off for a csection and did not want her back. Sadly, she lost all of her puppies, but she is the sweetest girl. Sophia is very easy going, loves to be held, has tested great with other dogs and keeps her kennel clean. Since moving to a foster home, she seems to be potty trained, rode wonderful in the car and loves to snuggle. hi Benji Boy! This happy boy is a 4 yr old, approx. 22 lbs. Jack Russell Terrier. He was found as a stray and brought to the local animal control shelter. Sadly, his owner declined to reclaim him so we scooped him up for the rescue. Beni Boy, true to his breed, is a happy and energetic pup! He is a true life of a party - always excited to see our volunteers, eager to explore and spend time in the play-yards. He will bring lots of laughter and joy to his forever home. He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped. Benji Boy had good dog meets in the animal control shelter and he would need to meet any resident dogs. Meet Liza Jean: Liza Jean is an 11 year old (as of April 2026) Jack Russell / border collie mix (best guess) that weighs about 23 pounds. Liza Jean was surrendered by her owner with her sister Bingo in a small rural shelter in early April. The woman had recently lost her husband and her home and was having to move into a new place that only allowed 2 dogs but she had 4. She was very distraught at the situation, but had no other choice. Liza Jean was reasonably comfortable at the shelter where she only stayed a day or so before were able to get her into our rescue. Liza Jean is a sweet girl who likes to be with her people. Liza Jean has become a regular pet to her foster and stays near him throughout the day and is a typical bed buddy at night. Liza Jean is currently being fostered in the Lancaster, PA area and would love to meet her forever family. Liza Jean really doesn't show any signs of her senior citizen status; she is quite active and runs around the yard like a much younger dog. She loves being outside exploring. Liza Jean will respond to her name, is very quick to please, and easily redirected. Liza Jean is working hard on her house training and loves her cheese reward when she goes potty outside. We would love for Liza Jean to have a home with a fenced in yard so she can play freely, but it is not a requirement. Liza Jean is up to date on her shots and is spayed.
