Jack is a typical Jack Russell.  If you haven't owned one, make sure you speak to someone who has prior to adopting one. They are a high energy dog .Jack was adopted the other day but sadly, tragically, he was returned in one hour because he had a normal dogy reaction. We aren't sure exactly what happened but we do know what was described to us is NOT the Jack we have seen at the rescue. We were told that Jack was fed a big meal upon arriving home and then the adopter bent over to put a leash on and Jack bit his hand.  We don't know if the man approached quickly, towered over Jack or exactly what triggered this but we have leashed Jack hundreds of times without incident. We immediately ran to pick Jack up when the adopter called and when we pulled up there was an older woman in the yard holding Jack by the collar. Jack was not growling or attempting to bite her, he simply stood there. We feel that Jack was let down. We feel sick over him having to experience something like this. It isn't fair to Jack. We know Jack is a good dog and he is sweet and loving. He just needs a person who understands that overwhelming a dog immediately after adoption is not the way you do it. Jack loves other dogs and he is house trained and crate trained. We are confident that Jack will be a wonderful companion for someone with the knowledge and patience to help him acclimate to a brand new home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.    License: NP 16320     PLEASE NOTE- we do not refund deposits if you change your mind. Story
Lil Klinger has a name that suites him to a T!  It means “courageous” and he is such a Lil courageous guy indeed.  But to add to this courage, he is also a confident, intelligent boy that has endured the hard times when his human family could struggle no longer and keep him. He was reluctantly surrendered to our rescue and we have delighted in see what a truly beloved boy he is.  This dog would fit in anywhere, anytime, anyway.  Lil Klinger is a 2 year old, 27 pound Jack Russell mix boy that is living in a foster home with two big foster fur brothers that don’t have anything ahead of Lil Klinger.   He can and does run with the best of them. He’s housetrained, loves car rides, happily accompanies his foster dad on his long walks and the active adventures his human dad loves to go on.  This boy, Klinger loves to explore and live life to the fullest with lots of new experiences. He embraces all the new things and enjoys playing with his toys and is ALWAYS ready for playtime.  If you are looking for a couch potatoe then Klinger would qualify only on short term moments.  He is a great and active breed that makes a wonderful family dog that you will spend time with and actively seek the exercise time that he needs.   He would be a wonderful dog for a  young family, young couple or a  young single person that is a runner, an explorer and a dog owner that might even want to do some agility activities together.  Of course Klinger is neutered , UTD on all vaccinations, microchipped and on heartworm prevention with a clear fecal and wormings done. we admit we are partial when it comes to Lil Klinger and he is one of the cuter and definitely the nicest small dog you could find or consider to add in your life. Don’t let this one get away!  If you are interested please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and let’s start this ball rolling for his new forever committed home and family. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 26, 2024, 11:20 pm

Story
Noelle is the sweetest little Jack Russell mix girl who is 3 years old and weighs 22 pounds.  This little sweetheart could use a nice daily exercise walk and measured food and in no time she would be 4-5 pounds lighter and trimmed up just in time for her summer swimsuit!  She would be the best exercise buddy that will give you purpose and the desire to get out in the Spring air.  She was found as a stray in a small town in Tennessee and everyone at the shelter says she is the best dog ever!  She is good on a leash and loves everyone….dogs, cats, children and wants to please you in every way.   If you are looking for a perfect TV/couch companion and a dog that will adore you till her last day on this earth, then you really must consider helping precious Noelle get out of the shelter and become YOURS!  Please consider an adoption or even a foster time with you!  Write to us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 26, 2024, 11:20 pm

Story
Sugar and Spice and everything nice! Spice and her sister Sugar were rescued from a pretty sad living situation. They are around 30 pounds and roughly one year old. Both sisters love attention from their human friends and also love other dogs. They are bonded and would love a home together, but can be adopted separately. Spice is tan with white and black markings. She's submissive, but does have a "spicy attitude and will let you know what she thinks about it! Overall, she has a very calm and relaxed demeanor especially when she knows she is in a safe place/at home. She does well with potty training, but is still working on leash training. She is very gentle and loving with a little side of sass! Spice would make a great pet for almost any home. She is ready to be adopted and can travel to her adoptive home now! If you're interested in welcoming me or any of my delightful Funny Farm companions into your home, kindly visit ffpets.org. There, you can find information about our Tennessee-based rescue, and gain insights into the adoption process! The adoption fee is $325, with an additional $200 required for transportation. Please note that at the moment, this adorable pet is in the care of a foster home in Tennessee but will be lovingly transported to your location once the adoption process is successfully completed. For details on meeting locations and transport arrangements, simply click on the "Transport" tab at ffpets.org. We strongly encourage you to thoroughly review all transport-related information before submitting your adoption application.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Hi my name is Roxy! I was taken from a home that could only be entered by first putting on a respirator, and gloves along with my half-sisters Isabell & Smokey. The 3 of us are so thankful to be with 2nd Chance! I am a very sweet gal who loves affection and kisses, I have LOTS of energy, and Smokey and I LOVE to play together. Smokey and I have lived together all of our lives, so for that reason we must be adopted together. We require a fenced yard.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!March 14, 2024, 1:12 am
