Story
Introducing River… our long, lean, goofy 15 lb dreamboat! Meet River, approximately 2 years old and 100% certified silly boy. He’s got that stretch-limousine body (you know the kind—long enough to need its own zip code ) and a playful personality to match. River is the kind of dog who thinks everyone is his friend… because, honestly, everyone is his friend. River’s story started on River Road, where he was sadly dumped and spent about a week running loose. For his safety, we had to humanely trap him, and we are so incredibly grateful that we were able to bring him to safety. Now that River is safe, loved, and thriving, he’s officially on the hunt for his forever home River comes fully loaded with perks: Heartworm negative Neutered Microchipped Current on vaccines & preventions AND he comes with a GeoTag — because even his adventures deserve extra protection. If you’re looking for a happy, goofy, loving companion with a long body and an even bigger heart, River might just be your guy. ##2621432##

Story
Toby’s story didn’t start the way he deserved — he first arrived at the shelter as a stray, only for us to learn he once had a home… just not one that chose to keep him. But here’s the thing about Toby: he hasn’t let that dull his shine one bit. This handsome, heart-on-his-sleeve boy is ready for his real forever. Toby is a fetch fanatic — toss the ball and watch him light up like you just gave him the best day ever. He rides beautifully in the car (and hops in and out like a pro), making him the perfect co-pilot for weekend adventures, park trips, or pup cups on the go. He’s house trained, crate trained, and takes grooming appointments like a total gentleman. He knows his name (it’s been Toby his whole life, and he proudly answers to it), though he hasn’t learned formal commands just yet — which honestly just means you get the fun of teaching him and watching him thrive. Toby loves kids and has that happy, playful energy that makes him such a joy to be around. He does pull a bit on leash when he’s excited (can you blame him? The world is exciting!), but with consistency and guidance, he’ll catch on quickly. He’s wonderful with other dogs, especially female pups or those similar in size. He can do well with larger dogs too, with proper introductions. An active family or a home with a fenced yard would be his dream come true — space to zoom, fetch, and soak up all the love he’s been waiting for. Toby has been unwanted before… but we can’t wait for the day he’s someone’s absolute favorite hello and hardest goodbye. Toby is fostered in Reading (Berks County), Pennsylvania and will be available to head home with a family on or after 2/21/2026.   Mostly Muttz Rescue, PO Box 406, Gilbertsville, PA 19525PA Kennel License 10872 ##2649418##

Story
Meet Spuzzy!Spuzzy lost his dad and came to us with his brothers, Falcor and Tiny Dog. Out of the bunch, Spuzzy is the easygoing one — a fluffy little fuzz ball who takes life as it comes. He’s laid back, gentle, and just happy to be part of the action without needing to be the center of attention. Spuzzy would love a family who appreciates his calm and go-with-the-flow nature. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or enjoying a quiet stroll, he’ll be right there by your side, content and full of love. If you’re looking for a sweet, mellow companion who will bring comfort and warmth to your home, Spuzzy may just be your perfect match. Story
Roscoe is a precious boy who is looking for a special home with patient humans as he is learning that the world isn't all scary. He has made great progress in his foster home! For the first couple of weeks, he mostly stayed glued to the couch where he felt safest, and he gradually settled in and became more comfortable. He is now a happy boy who loves to snuggle with his foster mom and play with toys! He also give occasional kisses. He is still scared with new people and in new situations and will take time to settle in to a new home. Roscoe is house trained and does fine sleeping in his crate at night, though he prefers to sleep in bed with his human or in a dog bed nearby. He is generally quiet and rarely barks. He's a great work from home companion and is happy to lounge or chew on a nylabone toy for most of the day with a break for some time to run around and play outside. His foster mom thinks he is pretty perfect! He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home - he let them sniff him when he arrived and since then, they have mostly ignored each other. He might like to play with another dog, but the dogs in his foster home are grumpy seniors so he respects their space. Roscoe doesn't ask for much - he just wants to be safe and loved by humans who don't expect too much of him as settles in and continues to gain confidence. He is easily startled by unexpected noises and movements and would do best in a quiet, calm, and secure home. Roscoe is in our Meet Me Program: Dogs featured in our Meet Me Program are participating simply because their foster or a dedicated volunteer is willing and able to take part—this is not based on breed, personality, behavior, or how long a dog has been waiting for a home. Because Mostly Muttz Rescue does not have a physical shelter location, this program allows adopters to connect directly with the people who know each dog best. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, learn more about daily life with the dog, and even schedule an individual meet & greet at an approved location—either before applying or while your application is pending. To get started, email meet_me@mostlymuttz.org with your contact information, and the dog’s foster or volunteer will be in touch. Story
Danica is a small little Toy Fox Terrier with a tender heart and a deep desire to feel safe again. This 2 year old girl who weighs just 9 pounds, was found running scared and lost through a rough neighborhood in rural Tennessee and when no one came forward to claim her, it became clear she was meant to start a new chapter—one where security and love are a given, not a question.    She is the definition of a Velcro baby. Danica wants to be right beside her person, soaking up every moment of closeness she can get. Your lap, your side, the spot right at your feet—that’s where she’s happiest. She does well with cats and seems comfortable around other dogs, but her true favorite will always be her human. Danica is incredibly sweet, a little clingy, and completely honest about her need for reassurance. After the trauma of being lost and the abandonment she’s experienced, who could blame her? She is fully potty trained and thrives when she can form a strong bond with someone who enjoys snuggles, quiet companionship, and being deeply loved. If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow who will choose you every single time, Danica is ready to give her whole heart to the person who gives her a safe place to land.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   Let us know where you live, city and state.  This girl is going to make someone so very happy and loved.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 30, 2026, 7:07 pm
