Story
Ready to board her flight home upon adoption. Background: Maeshil was rescued early this spring from a city pound in Chuncheon as part of our Save 100 Dogs Project. Since then she has been living with other dogs in a boarding house. Personality and Socialization: Maeshil got her name because she’s as sweet as a plum—Maeshil means plum in Korean. She has a medium energy level and a quiet, affectionate personality. She loves being around people and enjoys showing affection in the gentlest ways. With other dogs, Maeshil is polite and gets along well with friendly, gentle companions. She’s great with dogs of all sizes, including smaller ones. She has no experience with young children or cats, but with slow and gentle introductions, she may adjust well over time. Behaviours: Maeshil travels well in the car and behaves nicely at the vet and during baths. She doesn’t have much experience walking on a leash yet, but she follows her person well and enjoys being outside. Indoors, she’s quiet and non-destructive. Health and Diet: When Maeshil was rescued, she tested positive for anaplasmosis, but she received treatment and has since recovered. She is now healthy and ready for her forever home! Maeshil is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. She takes monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She doesn’t show any signs of allergies and eats dry food twice a day. Ideal Home: Maeshil is an easygoing, sweet, and mellow girl. She would be a wonderful match for someone looking for a calm, affectionate snuggler. A retired person or someone who works from home and can spend plenty of time with her would be perfect. If there’s another gentle dog who enjoys playing with others, that would be a lovely bonus. Whoever brings this sweet girl home will be very lucky. Story
**Note: Sirius will be ready for his flight to SF once adopted. Background: Sirius was rescued from a city pound in Ansung last November—just days before his scheduled euthanasia. Since then, he’s been living safely at our boarding facility with other rescue dogs, waiting for his second chance at a happy life. Personality and Socialization: Sirius is a bright, affectionate boy with a medium energy. He bonds quickly with people and doesn’t take long to warm up to new faces. Friendly and social, he genuinely enjoys human company and loves being part of everyday life—especially when it includes a good walk or outdoor time. He's intelligent, eager to please, and responds well to gentle training. Sirius gets along well with most other dogs, particularly those who are gentle and enjoy playtime. He can be a bit avoidant with dogs who are too dominant or overly energetic. He hasn’t been tested with cats or young children. Behaviours: Sirius loves cuddles and spending time close to his people, but he’s also happy to quietly entertain himself with toys or relax nearby. He’s independent enough to stay calm when left alone for a while, making him an easy dog to care for. He prefers outdoor potty breaks but is also comfortable using pee pads indoors when needed. He travels well in the car, behaves nicely during vet visits, and is patient during bath time. Health and Diet: Sirius is in great health. He’s neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and receives monthly parasite prevention. He eats dry kibble twice daily and has had no issues with allergies or sensitivities. Ideal Home: Sirius would do best with someone who’s home most of the time—perhaps a retiree, remote worker, or anyone who enjoys having a dog as a constant companion. He would love a family who enjoys walks, nature, or even just lounging around together. A home with another friendly, well-mannered dog would be a great match, though Sirius would also be happy as a solo dog receiving lots of love and attention. If you’re looking for a sweet, clever, and loyal friend who’ll stay by your side through it all, Sirius could be your perfect match. -------------------------- For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/sirius/

**Note: Luna is ready for her flight home to SF upon adoption. Background: Luna was rescued from Chuncheon City in August 2024, along with her mother and siblings. Since her rescue, she has flourished at our partner shelter, growing up surrounded by other dogs and forming strong social bonds. Four of her siblings have already found loving families in Canada, and now it’s Luna’s turn to find her forever home. Personality and Socialization: Luna is a sweet and gentle girl with a happy-go-lucky attitude. Her friendly and loving nature reflects her mother’s calm and warm temperament. She adores people and greets everyone with enthusiasm, showing no signs of shyness. She gets along well with other dogs and thrives on playtime, especially with friendly canine friends around her age and size. Luna has not been introduced to cats or children. Behavior: For her age, Luna is well-behaved. She’s calm during car rides and handles vet visits well. Even bath time doesn’t seem to bother her much. As she’s been living in a shelter environment, Luna has limited experience with walks, but she’s eager to learn and takes in her surroundings with curiosity. She’s a quick learner who thrives on routine. While Luna prefers doing her business outdoors, she’s also comfortable using pee pads when needed. Health and Diet: Luna is spayed, microchipped, and fully up-to-date on her vaccinations. She is parasite and heartworm-negative and receives monthly preventatives. Her diet consists of dry kibble twice a day, and she has no known allergies or health concerns Ideal Home: Luna would do best in a loving home where someone is around most of the time. She thrives on companionship, so having another friendly dog would make her feel more at ease and bring out her playful side. Luna would be a wonderful addition as a second dog, as she enjoys having fur companions by her side. A calm, relaxing lifestyle would suit her perfectly, providing a gentle and nurturing environment for her to truly thrive. Story
Ready to board her flight to San Francisco upon adoption. Background: Lullu was rescued from a city pound in Milyang, Korea last fall. After spending a few months in a foster home, he moved to our boarding house, where he’s been living with other dogs while waiting for his forever family. Personality and Social Life: Lullu is a happy, affectionate boy who loves people—whether he’s meeting someone new or cuddling with someone he knows. He’s very social and gets along well with all kinds of dogs, big or small, young or old. He especially enjoys playing with friendly and playful pups. His energy level is just right—he loves to play but also knows how to relax. He’s calm, easygoing, and enjoys simply hanging out with others. Behaviour: Lullu is quiet and well-behaved indoors. He may bark once or twice when someone new enters the house, but he settles quickly. While he was recovering from heartworm treatment in his foster home, he showed no signs of separation anxiety and was very easy to care for. He prefers to do his business outside but will hold it if needed. He can get a bit carsick on long rides but does fine on shorter trips. Bath time and vet visits can make him a little nervous, but he stays calm, especially when someone he trusts is with him. He’s playful when it’s time to play and relaxed when it’s time to rest. Lullu isn’t needy or hyper—he’s just a lovely dog to have around. Health and Diet: When Lullu was rescued, he was treated for heartworms and anaplasmosis, and he also had surgery for cherry eye in his left eye. He has recovered fully and is now healthy and happy. Lullu is neutered, fully vaccinated, and takes monthly parasite prevention. He eats dry kibble twice a day and has no known allergies. Ideal Home: Lullu would do best in a home where he’s not left alone for long—someone who works from home or has another friendly dog would be great. He’s an affectionate and friendly boy, good for first-time dog parents or anyone looking for a second dog. Lullu has so much love to give. He’ll make a wonderful, loyal addition to any home. Whoever adopts him will be very lucky. To learn more about this dog or to submit an adoption application, please follow the link below: https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/lullu/

Story
Monica is a malinois X Korean jindo. 5 years old. Her prior owner was not able to care for her and I am fostering until I can find her a stable home. However I am not supposed to have her here at my apartment complex. She is a wonderful companion. She has not had a lot of exposure to the outside world but enjoys the opportunity. She is cautious about meeting people at first but warms up after a short interaction. She is not very demanding but also quite aware of every movement and what it means. Super smart and responsible to what I am asking of her. She smells really good even not having been bathed and her coat is super soft does not collect bits. Please let me know if you have any interest in meeting Monica. 707.696.4721
